For some people it's compulsory, what confuse me is why they even marry. I think, in some case, it's the trill of cheating on someone else. In other, they have no self control and like I said, shouldn't even marry in the first place.

Marriages are less and less common. There's not a lot of legal or tax reason to do it. A general power of attorney does the same thing.

I think it’s more weird how seemingly easy so many people get married in their lives. It might be common as dirt to be married, but I find the prospect of developing that level of a romantic connection with someone to be basically mythological for me personally.

I'd argue it's not actually "weird" and that makes it worse. Infidelity is probably as old as we are as a species and there have been plenty of legal/moralistic/religious attempts to account for its occurence. The banality of it is what makes it all the more deplorable. By assigning it a segregational label as if it were outside of our predictable nature it's far easier to excuse it or handwave it away as "lapse of judgement". No, you made use of your judgement, and your judgement was shite.

My speculation about this is that folks with a penchant for abusing power while also being an internet entertainer are people who deeply enjoy having high amounts of control over how other people view them. And eventually it gets to the point where they _need_ that excess of control. Having an internet platform where fandom can be cultivated makes lying easier, but it also can reward that part of their brain that wants social acceptance. Maybe if the joy of controlling other people’s perceptions wasn’t such a rush for people who can’t earn social acceptance & respect through healthy equitable relationships, then people who are talented at building unequal relationships with their audience wouldn’t feel a desire to leverage that power imbalance as a substitute for real friendships & healthy romances (or even safe sane & consensual sexy connections). The lack of structured protections is definitely something that they consciously prefer and intentionally pursue, but I think that the personality profile of this subset of abusers can be expected to share a craving to market themselves excessively at the expense of an honest social life. And that craving sometimes is enough for channel growth.

this couldve been a pr win in like so many ways, maybe not a win but could've definitly been difused. i feel like every word in his response is just making it worse for him could've just went with "i didnt know they were a minor and i've been vigilant to never have that happen since, sorry this happened" or smth like that and it wouldve been so much better

Considering the amount of people who say they're only playing a character, then make it obvious they hold exactly the same values and opinions as their 'character', just without the theatrics, I wouldn't say it's the 'no filter' part that's dishonest.

The -analogy- close comparison I’d use to convey my agreement with your speculation is that anytime I read about someone who established a high-control group (cult), they have a noticeable history of failing to do honest work before they found a way to get people to follow orders. I also think that lacking the wherewithal to be held responsible for the things one does kinda forces a person either to lie all the time or learn responsibility & respect. Being honest about one’s parasitic behavior tends to allow people to leave until there’s nobody left to suck dry. Being bad at lying tends to prevent being captivating enough to accumulate people faster than they leave. The process of gaining an online audience simply doesn’t select against people who refuse to respect the people they want acclaim/power from. Abuse naturally follows, since there’s no healthy fondness to moderate their use of power.
