Wow, have we ever been graced to have lived during a time when we had/have music like this!!!! I grew up, came of age, and have had EJ's songs as a soundtrack throughout my life. He truly is a maestro and British national treasure. Go Elton, and THANK YOU for all these years of great, great music. It's lead me through some really good and really bad times in my life, but it's been there in the darkest of nights and the brightest of days.
The laterst version of "NIKITA" in Moscow is a classic with the mellow aging voice of Elton.John. He finally found his "Nikita" in Mr David.Furnish. WHAT A COLD WAR !
One of his finest melodies, and a personal favorite from nis uncommonly rich catalogue. And what a great, striking performance, so different from the studio version!
Beautiful. And, quite poignant considering the state sanctioned persecution of the LGBT community in Russia. Even though I absolutely adore Elton John, I love Reg Dwight as a brother. Live free.
@@jimlewis7200 "Contrary to popular belief, the name Nikita isn't actually a female name. In Russia and some other places in Eastern Europe, it is given to males. According to Elton (who came out as gay years after the release of the song), he was aware that Nikita is a male name when he wrote the song." Nikita song can interpret both ways but Elton John true meaning behind the song is towards a male.
