He had a vested interest in Elvis presley enterprises and did a lot of work for and with them, he certainly did very well moneywise by promoting Elvis as he was earning big bucks from it, he became a walking talking living commercial for keeping Elvis presleys image alive and the cash rolling in. I'm not doubting he was a friend of his, that much is obvious. But he made a lot of money off of his connections after he died.
George's story about Dewey's wife, Dot, needing financial help after Dewey died so she could provide Christmas for her children... and Elvis had $5,000 sent to her.... just to give frame of reference for how much money that was back then by today's standards that would be equivalent to about $30,000. To give her kids a nice Christmas a check for a couple hundred dollars would have been enough. But Elvis knew that, and went the extra mile to make sure any other Financial worries she had could be taken care of. Always a man of compassion and generosity. Gotta luv Elvis
And it also proves just how much money he had and was making and giving away. Buying houses and cars for friends, a lavish lifestyle where money was never a problem. 2 private jets.. The best of everything.
I believe Mr. Charlie Hodge and Mr. George Klein were true friends to Elvis. Thanks for posting. No one like Elvis or ever will be. Miss him and love his music still. RIP Elvis, Red and Sunny West and others around Elvis who are now gone. With the exception of rattlesnake Parker who used him and fleeced him for millions. How Great Thou Art is my favorite gospel song and one of Elvis' best albums.
Please keep George Klein in your thoughts and prayers. George has been the consultant for The Elvis Presley Network for thirty years. GK has kept us all rocking for over 60 years! George has never really slowed down in all of that time. Lately, he hasn't felt his best. Prayers can do wonders! Here is one of GK's favorite photos of himself and one of the founding members of the EPN in 1989. Left to right: Don Wilson, Laura Unger, Richard Davis, Janet Kellebrew and George Klein.
George Klein was a good friend of Elvis since the 8th grade at Humes High School. I love the story where Elvis had George brought from work where he was getting ready to go on the air and he had his guys bring you to the car dealership where Elvis had bought George a new Cadillac. ELVIS really was the best!

This jacket looks very much like Elvis's Wedding Jacket... you can get it from Lansky Brother's, Elvis's Clothier www.lanskybros.com/The-Wedding-Jacket-P158.aspx
RIP to Elvis, GK, James Brown, and all the others that's passed on from Memphis Mafia and so on. Hopefully they are all back together again in heaven and having a great time for eternity.
Oh my word George, it has been so long since I saw you - I hope you are fabulous - aka Mary Beth Edeleman Memphis State University Class of 81. lol You sweet man!!!
E P You are dead on about that little weasel Charlie Hodge. He was totally there for the handouts, the guy even had to live with E because he was so helpless. And his backup vocals were horrible!!
They Ginger , all of them found Elvis too late on that floor....as a nurse... when Joe said, he found Elvis and turned his body over and he breath out a breath....he had been unconscious for a long time before they found him 5 hrs later.....Ginger had to have heard Elvis fall hard on that floor.....if the cook down stairs said she heard the fall around 9:30 am...and nobody checked on him until 2:30....Also , the cook said they didn't call the ambulance right away...It was because the Memphis gang thought it was business as usual...when he passes out...call Dr Nick...and he will give him a shot like usual, and everything will be like before....but this time...they couldn't reach Dr Nick right away..so they had to call the ambulance....and Dr Nick and the ambulance got there around the same time....too late they waited....If Ginger would have checked on him like the cook said, and they would have found him unconscious instead of almost dead... or dead.... When he breath out that last breath when Joe turned him over....as a nurse...that meant he was alive on that floor a long time unconscious and not dead....He could have been saved..... they said, Linda Thompson or Priscilla would have never not check on Elvis going into a bathroom and not coming out! She Ginger was a young little girl Elvis didn't need .....She was only 19 or 20.... what was the hell Elvis was thinking! he wasn't! he went out sad.....and it wasn't God will....he cut his days short! still love him tho..
Elvis has been dead for hours before he was found. A doctor said he died within 4 minutes. The breath Joe heard was just a movement of air when he shifted the body. The bathroom had a thick red carpet, and since the upstairs is almost soundproof as well, its very unlikely a sound was heard downstairs if someone fell on the bathroom floor.
No blame goes on Ginger. Elvis kept her up until whatever morning time it was when they went to bed... she was sleeping when Elvis suffered his heart attack like many spouses are when they have one while they sleep. It was his time, obviously.. having almost died at least twice before.
My Two Bits Plus she had taken meds before laying down due to personal feminine issues and was sound asleep. He would have died regardless and she’s not the blame. A lot of mistruths have been said and told regarding her. Besides, if that cook actually did hear s thump, she should have checked on it had one of his boys check on him. She was in his employ and knew the ropes. Don’t see how anyone can blame Ginger for not checking when it was another person that supposedly heard a thump. Ppl fail to realize just how big his and sectioned off from one another his bedroom and bath/dressing rooms are. Plus the doors are even padded, etc for sound proofing bc he had terrible insomnia and sleeping issues. There in lies the root to a lot of his issues and downward spiral.

@johnny tyler. Yes. Sad, but true. Such a sweet, sweet man. He will be missed by us all. One thing is for certain, he will be remembered as a Legend. He lived life to the fullest. Such wonderful memories.
@johnny tyler. His health declined rapidly after he broke his hip. He was 83 yrs old. We were all praying for a different outcome. Very Sad. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
@Michael illingworth. No this was recent. He underwent surgery to repair his hip. I will not go into detail out of respect for family. However, GK was 83 and had to be anesthetized for the surgery to repair his hip. He just simply couldn't regain his strength. He passed away Tuesday evening surrounded by family and friends.
Services for our beloved George Klein will be Visitation from 11 AM Sunday followed by the service at 2 PM at Memorial Park funeral and Cemetary on Poplar Ave. ~RIP~Sweet Man.
