No one could sing like Elvis. The Love he had for his Mom was very special. I lost my Mom a few years back & a part of me went with her. I would give everything I have to bring her back even for one day.

The darnerst thing anyone could ever see! 😥 He told her at the funeral he would dig holes for the rest of his life to have her back. I liked his song "Milky White Way" from his 3x Grammy award winning Gospel CD, in which he mentioned he will shake his Mamma's hand when he walks into Heaven. Dave: I too wish I could tell my mother one more time how much I loved her. unfortunately I never did when she was still with me. I would say the same to my brother who passed away a few years ago. he always loved me and was very lonely at the end. Elvis is the greatest, period, the sheer range of his voice and songs he did in his career can't be paralleled, I have listened to so many of his songs 100s of times and I still get the goose bumps. Elvis was the complete package and set the standard of what a superstar should be; , the voice, sex appeal, the quiff, sunglasses, clothes he wore, the bling, first singer to have an full entourage, car collection, he set the trail for the others to follow...I am sad that no-one really looked out for him or had his best interests at heart.
His Mother did her best to look out for him! But, once he went to Germany he was a long way from Graceland. She missed him so much that her heart failed her. But, they are together, again.
In every picture, Gladys always seemed to have a 'lost, lonely' look in her eyes. She did suffer a lot from depression in her life, and if you see her eyes in these pictures, you can tell. She took a lot of medication and it caused to have leave this world early. BUT, the one light, the one happiness in her life, seemed to be her only child, Elvis. She lived for him. But as he became famous, and it seemed others got his attention more, she didnt feel as needed...i think that caused her depression to sink deeper in the final times and caused he to have the heart attack that took her. But Elvis' love for his mother, is the deepest love a child can have and he showed it as often as he could.

I don't think this was officially to her. I think the fans just picked it up as for her because of the wording. There's many, many songs out there like this one that Elvis did that are really great. By not looking around You Tube, you miss them, hundreds.

I lost my mother at 23 like Elvis. It changed me forever. My life took a totally different trajectory than it would, had she still been alive. My father died when I was 30. Life was never the same after they were gone!

Actually, he had less respect for his father who was jailed while he was growing up. He had this weird relationship with his mother that he shared bed with. So far, they said sex was not involved. However, Elvis said no girl could match his mother. That's how close he was to his mother. So, that's little weird.

I visited Graceland, I remember walking in the front door and touching the couch, standing next to the stairway to Elvis's bedroom I wanted to walk up and lay on his bed, but I didn't. I wanted to take something from Graceland with me so I plucked a hand full of grass and still have it in a photo album. Elvis voice was a gift of Grace to the world that soothed our souls! After Elvis was drafted into the Military his Mother was so heartbroken she drunk alot and died of an heart attack. Elvis Presley will always be remembered!

Elvis- the one and only. It's so sad Gladys died when she did. I think it really left her sensitive, talented son without anyone to really watch out for him and guide him. I think his life would have gone so differently if she had lived. We wouldn't have lost him so soon.
