I was born in the 80’s. Only really started listening to Elvis this year through reaction videos. I never would’ve thought I’d become an Elvis fan. No one was more surprised than me that he was legitimately amazing and deserves all the status he has in the culture if not more. When in history has this combination of vocal talent, musical talent, charisma, performance, humility, heart and civic-mindedness ever been combined so spectacularly in one person?
Remember watching this back in 1968 in black and white because we didn't have a colour TV. Think the 'Elvis 68 Comeback Special' was Elvis at his best.
Never was a big Elvis fan. (Although I did always love 'Kentucky Rain!' I wish JV would do a reaction on that one!😉) But I've never heard this song. Ever. And I'm loving it as much as JV is!!!!WOW.😍
My mum adored Elvis, and she passed that adoration on to us kids. I remember well the day he died. She shed a few tears and said ‘I never thought Elvis would go before me’. She’s still with us at age 92. Bless. 💙💖💜
Elvis at his best in this legendary concert. And lets not forget how at this time he was literally sex on a stick, so unbelievably handsome and charismatic.
Great reaction! This was the comeback special in 1968. Elvis had been away from performing for 7yrs, doing his movies he was contracted. He was unsure and didn't know if people would still like him. Like him? 42ys after his death we absolutely LOVE HIM! He is the GOAT!
They fainted dead at his feet, we had a lady who met him once, he even said hi Rosie to her, she never stopped talking about, even 50+ years. We never stopped asking. He was so great, his songs, his movies whatever
Great song and great reaction! This was filmed in a tv studio for his 68 comeback special tv show. There will never be another Elvis! Let's all keep the Presley family in our hearts and prayers 🙏🙏 as Elvis's grandson Ben passed away. So sad. He is meeting his grandfather now 🌈🌈 take care
Elvis was a great entertainer. Loved people. Loved to joke and have fun along the way. Smiling came natural to him - just like yourself. 2 good souls. My Mom adored Elvis. Then again - back then , who didn t?Appreciate your love and enthusiasn for the music I grew up on.😀👍
JV: "Elvis going crazy right now..." Us: * smiles and watches JV giggle and have a good time reviewing the King of Rock" ....just enjoying this..... Yep, its gonna be like that. ;)
What can be said that hasn't already been said! There will NEVER be anyone like Elvis Aaron Presley 💯 "The King" 😎 Very few men are called "Beautiful" but I have to agree. Elvis will ALWAYS be with us 🎵🎵🎵
Jayvee I appreciate the respect you give Elvis I'm a big Elvis fan and you're always so respectful in your reactions he was a truly talented singer I don't know if you'll see my come yet but I have a request a couple of them for you to watch if you ever get to him what now my love 1973 Aloha from Hawaii or American Trilogy 1973 Aloha from Hawaii it shows off is vocal ability I just wanted to say the reason I subscribe to you but because of the respect you give Elvis and I thank you for it sir
Love me some Elvis!! My grandmother rest her soul went to one of his concerts and she got to met him and Elvis gave a little kiss. All she ever talked about.
That whole concert is amazing, one of the coolest things you'll ever see. Weirdly, was the only thing I could bear to listen to after my sister passed away. But you should check out the whole gig. Would be a grrrreat thing for you to react to on your birthday, we could all watch it together :) Unless copyright got in the way of course, which it probably would. Great reaction.
This song my father dedicated to my mom in the early 60's when he was sent to Cuba and waiting to come home to marry her. It's obviously one of my favorite Elvis songs because of the meaning behind it.💜💜💜
Whew!! Love Some Elvis♥️🎼♥️ This was the "68 Come Back" I was only 12yrs old when he died. So Elvis was a bit before my time and so even growing up I only heard Elvis on occasion with my older sisters playing his music. It wasn't till last year that I actually started to listen to his music. And This One he sings is one of my favorite amongst so many. LoL Loved Your Reaction though. He starts out smooth and then gives you a bit of a surprise. Never the less You Always Manage to break out that smile and laughter and it's awesome!!
I was 13 when he died, but my whole family had been fans since before I was born and there was a LOT of Elvis played in my house. My cousin even went on to become his drummer in the 70s, so I got to meet Elvis three times.
He is so sexy!! That voice!!! Such a talent and what a loss! We were driving home from Dallas Texas, after a trip to France that Elvis had died. I love that he has that smile on his face, like he is having such a fun time. Mom was in the French Army as an overseas operator 1960's when Elvis was stationed in Germany, and some of his long distance calls came through her area call center in Paris. Pretty cool to even say such a thing, if anyone even remembers overseas operators on the telephone LOL
We can go weeks listening to artists that are super talented. And they are. But they're not Elvis. NOBODY will ever hold a candle to that amazing man. (And you ain't heard a thing til you hear him do his gospel. Or *American Trilogy* omg)
It was broadcasted in December 1968. It was the first time he had been seen ion TV since 1960 when he came home from The Army with the Welcome Home Elvis Special. His Career in the 1960's was to put it mildly a disaster. He did one bad movie after another that made "Bank" at The Box Office, he had too many freeloaders and staff members who didn't know how to stand up to him. He had become a Father with Lisa Marie. He didn't know how to take Constructive Criticism and his Manager controlled him like a Puppet. The man who directed this Special was Steve Binder who also did The T.A.M.I. Show (Teenage Music International). When Jonathan Rhys (Pronounced Reese) Myers did his version of Elvis, Steve took him out on Hollywood Boulevard and showed him that he could be around the people and public and still be happy. His Staff got scared that they would lose their jobs so they did everything in their power to make him happy.
Biggest mistake was not doing the movie with Barbara Streisan and never touring europe only USA and only one visit to canada on his bus he drove..then found out the real reason he was never sent to europe to tour was becuase his manager was a criminal and not allowed back in europe or jail. His manager was an asshole. Wrecked his true talent..made enough off him.
Yes man don't get me wrong, "Unchained Melody" has the power to bring almost any woman to her knees... .... but THIS, this right here... there is no hope of coming back from it. 😍 INSTANTLY MELT INTO A PUDDLE!! Absolute BEST live performance of all time!! I've seen this 100x's before and plan to watch it 100xs MORE throughout I life lol. Just sayin. NO SHAME 🤤😍🤤😍🤤
THE KING! Elvis and The Beatles by far may favourite. Love this song. GREAT video. Another great Elvis one to do is from this same concert live in 1968 "Baby what do you want me to do".
There isn't many artists that I would probably faint if I was close to. He would be the one. Can you imagine him singing to you looking in your eyes? Holy Jesus.
Elvis was a wonderful entertainer and his singing was fantastic, I have always loved to listen to him though my favourites are Love me Tender and In the Ghetto. His voice was full of emotion and it was clear he was in his song as he sang it. There are so many wonderful songs and I used to be taken to see his films when they came to our local cinema, happy times. Thank you Jayvee, I was torn between watching Elvis and watching you, sorry but Elvis won sweetheart. Peace love and hugs to you all, God bless everyone Mary-Ellen UK
I was just a kid when he passed but my mom was a fan and I grew up listening to his music. I loved his raw, wild blues style, I still do. The world lost a truly gifted musician when he died.
You have the best reaction vids on YT, the appreciation for all genres of music is refreshing. There are loads of Elvis that others who do the reactions have missed. Check out young Elvis from the movies, king creole, jailhouse rock,GI blues......songs like trouble, young dreams, king creole, treat me nice, shopping around.
1. Yea, he definitely had “it.” 2. Yup, there’s a reason we call him “the Prince from another planet.” 3. It cracks me up every time he tries to get out of that chair. 4. There’s no one, just no one that can measure up to this guy.
The other thing I like about this performance is that it's partly tongue in cheek and like a lot of Elvis' performances it's done with a sense of humour
Check out British band Wet Wet Wet at the Elvis tribute concert singing " It's now or never" They stole the show to such an extent that they were invited to a private tour of Graceland!
This was from his '68 Comeback Special. He had been making movies since the late 50's, and was getting back into touring. He had to wear that black leather for HOURS. They rotated the audience, so more fans got the chance to see him. This is probably the only performance you'll ever see that they were allowed to get that close.
