Well I remember it went through “development hell” and it was delayed for that reason and a lot of older employees of techland and even people who worked on DL1 left for that reason and then the SA charges happened and techland panicked and fired Chris (the guy that wrote fallout Las Vegas). They scrapped EVERYTHING. The 2 women lied about the charges and admitted that and I don’t believe those women got in trouble but I hope they were. And that’s why DL2 what it is right now because techland panicked and didn’t wanna wait out the charges. But techland and those women are the reason we didn’t get what we were promised. I wonder sometimes how it would be different. And now the tencent thing happened and it’s freaking people out for a good reason. And DL1 and DL2 has the almost the same amount of players playing and that’s bad when a game is 9 years old and DL2 is nearly 2. A lot has happened and I truly hope techland can recover and give us “the ultimate zombie experience” let’s hope so.

@@PRIOMHAIGH i dont think those women got any sort of backlash, i hope dl2 can become a better game with tencent even tho that probably will not happen im still hoping for the best (dying light 2 would be an interesting mobile game if tencent forces them to do that)

Because in 2020 covid happened, SA charges against the original voice actor of Aiden which the claimants later admitted were made up but DL 2 panicked and didn’t wanna wait it out, bureaucratic leadership in DL 2 denied employees any decision making power/creativity even if the leadership’s plans were horseshit which drove away a huge number of experienced employees, Techland literally had to delete everything and start again from square one.

They fired the narrative designer and the moron they hired scrapped all of his work

The 3rd area of the Dying Light 2 map that was unfortunately cut in the retail version of the game. You could see it in old trailers and stuff.
