Demo: I need to fix the water supply. Retail: WHERE IS WALTZ?!

Look at the detailed building and streets. Look at how important your choice is. Look at how good the atmosphere is. All of em are gone

This isn't just gritty. Its more details, better shadows, different colored grass, darker etc. Its not just a different art style, this is more realistic than what we got

After finishing the retail version I can't tell you how sad I am not to be able to play this version. I feel so robbed. So many years of waiting and not getting this. I am literally almost depressed about it.

I want this Dying Light

We’ve all been waiting for this. And boy am I hyped.

Dying Light 1: One of the BEST, underrated and unknown zombie games ever made! You guys rule!

-Crane will not be the main protagonist; no one from the first game will be in the second game -DL2 is set 15 years after Harran in a new location called "The City" -"The City" is 4 times bigger than the whole first game. In an interview, someone who is working on DL2 stated, “It's basically four times bigger than Dying Light 1’s maps and Dying Light: The Following’s map put together.” DL2’s map will be insanely huge, prepare your computers. -"The City", most likely a European city, is possibly the last remaining human settlement on Earth -During the day zombies will be more prevalent inside buildings -There will also be zombies in uninhabited parts of the town called “Dark Zones” that you can probably clear out and capture -Zombies will be much scarier at night time; predictably a lot scarier than the first game’s night times -Choices that you make will dramatically influence how the game will play out -There will be many new factions fighting against each other, and you -4 player co-op will be back! -Parkour has been improved, now twice as many moves than in DL1 -Many other systems have also been significantly improved (crafting, melee, etc) -There is no release date yet, but it will be some time in 2019 -You can whistle to lure zombies to your position -Traps (car traps, light traps, firecrackers, etc) will be returning -You can use objects around you (buckets, gas cans, etc) to throw at enemies -During the day bandits/criminals can chase you like volatiles from DL1 -Grappling hook will return, but it will be different from the grapple hook in DL1 -There will be at least 3 or 4 major factions in the game, those of which you can side or become enemies with -Enemies from the "Hunter" faction will hunt you down and try to kill you if angered -Stamina will be more affecting to the player; hanging off a ledge for an amount of time will drain it -You can now hide in dumpsters from humans and zombies alike -Volatiles are like the police of GTA. Who still plays Dying Light (1)?

This looks so much better than the retail version. I can’t believe they got rid of this art design over the oversaturated green and vibrant colors we ended up getting. Just makes it look cartoonish.

dying light 2 is still a great game but they really missed a lot of potential here

Now that I’ve played and completed the 2022 version I wish they would have kept it this way it looks so much more realistic and the parkour looks so much better.

The gritty, dark atmosphere in this trailer is so much more interesting of a take than the bright, vibrant vomit we got. The retail feels like a damn arcade game and it's disappointing.

Dying Light 1 was the first game I purchased on Xbox One. I haven’t purchased a new video game in almost 2 years.. but this makes me want to buy another again. Can’t wait!

I loved to see the E3 graphics and not because they were detailed, but because they gave me a dusty post apocalyptic feeling. The feeling that I was actually in the game and needed water. The characters looked so much more complex and actually looked like they had fear and anger in their eyes. I am not saying that DL2 is bad. I am just saying that it is not worthy to be part of the Dying Light experience. Hell the night isn't even dark, and there is no fear and immersion in knowing exactly how many zombies are after you and seeing every step you take in perfect light.

I think Chris avellone had a big influence on how the game was going to turn out. I’m so annoyed they got rid of him for something he didn’t do.

I hate everything about this trailer because this looks like a game I would be genuinely hyped about, not that giant nerf we got compared to dying light 1

Looks like the infected has evolved in the span of 15 years and are now like the infected in the I am Legend movie which hates the sunlight, much like the volatiles in the first game.

Dying light 1 was literally the most played video game I have ps4. It's so much fun, especially on online coop! You guys really knocked this one outta the park Techland 🙏

The sound, the feeling of isolation and the sense of danger. Those are the things we never got....

Man if only the world building is really as dynamic as they sold it. 100+ choices to shape the world? We only ended up having that 2 handful of electric and water stations. We can't side with bandits, we hardly see npcs interacting with one another in the open world or drink from fountains. Big dreams though

let's be real here, we got a massive downgrade, and im not saying that what we got was bad its just that there are few things that were better here, in this demo the world wasn't as colorful which made it more realistic to zombie apocalypse scenario and of course the whole plot with water was just cut out i also feel like PK's were meant to be a bigger threat than in the final cut

this game looked so interesting, the setting, the writing and the gameplay looked like it was going to be a darker and more mature version of dying light 1; it really had me pumped up but i should've known better... it was too good to be true. dying light 1 was an amazing game for its time.

I can't wait for dying light 2 ;) ....I am ready to play it ;)...

As much as I enjoyed the Dying Light 2 that we got, I definitely prefer the style of this version. Considering it was in the game at some point, I'm hopeful that the game can be updated in the future to look and feel more like this.

I remember in 2018 when I saw this I was so hyped because the first one was good, now not so much. 😔 4 years techland, waiting and waiting, watching everything you posted

Congratulations Poland, the best two games at Microsoft's Briefing were - and by far - Dying Light 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.

Game developers should understand that if they show us gameplay of their game and it creates a lot of hype, people essentially like what they SEE. If the final release of the game doesn’t look anything like the gameplay trailer, the only assumption for any smart developer would be that people will hate the game. But they still alter the game to their liking, without caring what the audience thinks.
