It has a slow cranking system on it to prevent hydrolock damage. If the engine stops because of water in the cylinder, the starter fuse will blow when the full current is sent to the starters.
We occasionally get CMs in at work, but I'm not in loco service anymore, so can't help there. The Cummins motor is very quiet though, sounds nothing like the EMDs!
@@CPAlburtisRailfan Cranking without starting is just as hard on them. Maybe look into how this system works instead of being that annoying armchair engineer.
