I've been on a HUGE Eminem binge lately, and I can see the same genius and composure that he has in this interview in almost every serious interview that he's done. The guys brain is like a sponge and he's a lot smarter outside of rapping than many people think. I feel like now the problem is that he can't help over-analyzing his writing and how people will react to it because of all the criticism hes gotten recently, and also trying to adapt to the climate in his own way. I hope he can shake that cycle of overthinking, I want him to be happy expressing himself however he wants because that's what makes great art. Fuck the haters, Revival was exactly what he wanted it to be or else it wouldn't have released. That's what I want from him. Do your thing Marshall.
every great artist who made any amount of great music has also made shitty music too. that's the nature of creation. and people who ride on his nuts whenever he puts out something that's not like his best album just do it cuz they're spiteful fuck boyz who need a reason to shit on a successful rapper.
Revival was trash tbh and that coming from a guy who was introduced to rap through em's music and only listened to him for straight 2 years. I could be a corny dickrider but my music taste evolved and I discovered legends like nas, k. lamar, rakim etc. Revival was the cause of his stans foolish demands, one side they want the old him other side they want the new him so he tried to give both 2010 em and old slim but failed miserably. Come on stans just let him grow artistically let him evolve his music according to this new environment. How can ya'll expect him to stay them same?
Man I was 19 when this interview dropped . There was nobody bigger than this guy at that time . 20 yrs later and he is still the man . EM for president!!!
I think the Eminem Show was the pinnacle of his career. That album he was his most maturest lyrically in his prime. Then all them benzino diss tracks after that were crazy dope
Idk I personally think all his albums have crazy lyrical prowess. Relapse has crazy play on words and similes, Recovery has deep talk about his time away and on drugs and how its affected him and what not, his only "not very lyrically dense" album I personally would say, would be maybe MMLP2. That album has a lot of bangers but man theres only about 3-4 songs on there with deep substance, the rest are kinda too poppy for me. Idk just my opinion 🤷♂️
@@GyrusBeatz Yo man I like how you reviewed Recovery and Relapse, but I suggest you to re-heard MMLP2 and maybe check out on "Genius", a web site that explain songs bar by bar. Last year I check every song of that album and wow.... it's really full of wordplay, double meaning, punchlines and all figures of speech, awesome level of references.. I like also the concept of the album, it's like a review of his prime albums, his carreer in general and of course his personal life, from the point of view of a more mature man that is obviously still angry and "shady" but this time he's mainly introspective.. Bad Guy( especially the last 2 minutes) for me is one of his best work ever, at least one of the most emotional ones.. Peace man, have a good day!
It's ok, good few tracks but I would argue that slim shady lp was the best as he was his real self and dres beats were dope, the music after that on his albums sucked
Dean Winchester oh my god yo YAAASS thank you dude omg that CRUCIAL DISTINCTION and the fact that no one else seems bothered by the fact that kings ALWAYS die... ahhhhh! -- that shit has been subtly driving my crazy on the low since that song came out lol. KINGS die all the time, it's GODS that don't die. He had it right the first time when he said: Why be a king when you can be a god? Lol but ya know, as long as he got it in there somewhere.
most of you are quick to talk about his looks in this, and dont realize that this interview is gold. Everything he is saying is what he was going through coming up as an artist. He is explaining the process to a man who doesnt understand the situation he is in at all. All of the BS he had to endure coming up from nothing and then to fame. He looks this way because it was filmed early in his career and he had gone through quite a huge amount of stress and was dealing with the early phases of handling his money and fame. Nobody is perfect, judging someones looks shows how shallow some of you really are.
That Columbine drop was so dope on this song. Hella controversial at the time. So controversial it was edited on the explicit cut of the album "I take 7 kids from Columbine, stand em all in line/ add an ak-47, a revolver, a nine/ add a mac-11 and it oughtta solve a problem of mine/ and that's a whole school of bullies shot up all at a time. The wordplay, the shock value, the syllable usage. Genius
Marshall, so happy for your success. But even happier that you’ve always stayed true to your fans. You inspire me to stay strong and to stop giving a shit, especially to all the haters that I deal with more than ever. My only regret is that I waited this long to fight back. Peace.
Crazy to think he wasn’t even at his peak fame yet no Eminem show, no 8 mile, no destroying a whole label and magazine he was just at a point that he wasn’t a one hit wonder now in 01
Bryan it's probably the drug addiction, rehab, relapsing, getting clean, proof dying and a change in hip hop in general... also not being 28 and being 44
Interviewer: Are you the spiteful kind of guy do you get adrenaline out of vengeance Em: Yeah, i Do. Still evident to this day, after the murder of MGK
I truly like him. Respect him, and proud of him. A phenomenal artist. One of a kind. A solo trumpet, with his own unique brand of his own voice of his own music. Alpha Mega!
Seen so many interviews of em. This one defiantly some deep abrupt questions asked. Got the answers though. Good interview. Supprised em was patient and honest with his answers.
I murda a rhyme one word at a time You never hear of a mind as perverted as mine You better get ridda that nine it ain't gonna help What goods it gonna do against a man that strangles himself
I’m waiting for hell Like hell, shit I’m anxious as hell Manson your safe in that cell Be thankful it’s jail I used to be my mommy’s little angel at 12 Thirteen I was putting shells in a gauge on the shelf
I used to Get punked and bullied on my block Till I cut a kittens head off and stuck it in a kids mailbox I used to give a fuck Now I could give a fuck less
Although I know most about his childhood, listening about his whole family is just sad man, I can't imagine anyone coming this far from this kinda environment around them.
He's trying to say that people that don't understand can't understand cuz they haven't had the experience to look through his perspective, 99% of humans are subjective thinkers, it's sad
Umm 6:20 would completely disagree with you. First of all he can’t understand this foreign fuck and he makes a face at him like he’s upset at how dumb of a question it is. Because rap is for America none of these other countries truly understand
Midwest emcees give so many dope real in depth interviews or maybe it’s just Detroit. Eminem Royce Elzhi 3 of the illest ever and they’re just down to earth real good dudes but ones who are also real smart and have a good sarcastic wit to them
Em by himself made plenty of good content lots of sales and critical acclaim for the majority of his work although Infinite was not as well received because Em was still trying to find a style he could stick to
troy smith definitely wasent Dave fanning, he is a brilliant interviewer, actually a legend, that guy was German, and lil wayne was acting all tough with his bodyguards beside him
I saw him headline a rave party in detroit just before slim shady lp dropped. He had d12 with him in this abandoned warehouse and a bunch of drugged up kids not realizing what they were witnessing.
+ « Poor Mashall .. He Tried To Doesn't Talking About His Mother Because He Felt Pain Inside & Now Even They Aren't Speaking A Lot , They're Fine . He Said Than On Some Interview !!!!!!! » *=)
Nobody does concert intros like that anymore. It’s all about the light shows, maybe pyro, a DJ mix and the artist runs out on stage from the wings instead of appearing somewhere on stage, coming up on a riser, coming out of a stage prop etc. the quality of production in a live concert nowadays sucks in comparison!
