Nobody else could have performed this song like ‘Em & Riri…..both of them have been through some public extremely abusive & traumatic relationships. They killed this. Absolutely killed this 🔥
People call Em corny shen they don't realize he's touched so many social issues through his songs. Family issues, drug habits, dissed the government for its policies, various social constructs. He isn't just the greatest rhymer but also the best storyteller. "Stan", "When I'm Gone", "Mockingbird" are undefeatable masterpieces
Like TAE GLORY says "THE EMINEM SHOW." It is at least top 3, if not #1. " 'Till I Collaspe," "Without Me," "Superman," "Soldier," "Cleanin' Out My Closet," "White America" and "When The Music Stops" just some of the ones you guys have done from the album. More to do, please react to one of my favorites "SING FOR THE MOMENT" 1 of Eminem's best anthem songs with storytelling. Keep up the good work! ☺⚡⭐
@@Mister__Jey what's wild is while I'm not disagreeing with your list I find myself listening to the slim shady LP more regularly than any other recently with mtbmb close behind
The song was actually written by Skylar Grey, but she gave the song to Eminem. When she wrote the lyrics, it was meant to symbolize the current relationship she was having with her record label at the time and she compared it to that of an abusive relationship. The version with just her singing is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend giving it a listen as well!!!!
Y'all need to do some more tracks off of Marshall Mather's LP. My favorite album for sure. The Way I Am, Kill You, Real Slim Shady, Drug Ballad, Bitch Please pt 2, Stan. All certified bangers!
@@sga8611 The Eminem Show is his best album. Not everyone wants to hear Kill You or Criminal while riding in a car with friends bro. Those songs are genius because of how he twisted the words of his critics, but ain’t no way
I was in this EXACT relationship when I was 19. Toxic and abusive. Extremely hard to get out of.. he almost killed me, literally. The part where Rhianna is singing “I like the way it hurts” & “I love the way you lie”… she doesn’t REALLY love it.. but that’s how a super toxic, controlling abusive relationship is.. you THINK you love this person so you stay in it longer than you should until it becomes a life or death situation. They LIE and tell you after they hit you that it will never happen again.. and they treat you so good.. until the next time. It’s a roller coaster up and down and they control you mentally so you feel like you’re worthless and no one else will ever love you. They terrify you and threaten you till you become paralyzed to leave them for fear they will kill you (or if you have kids together, hurt your children or kill you to take them from you). It’s so hard to get out of cause they never start off abusing you.. it’s a slow burn. It’s mentally and emotionally abusive FIRST then the physical once they have you controlled. To anyone going thru a relationship like this.. GET OUT. Ask for help and leave.. before it’s too late. 🙏❤️
This song is so epic!!! Eminem is such a good narrator, in this I have it memorized. Also Monster with him and Rhianna is also very good. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this at the Super Bowl.
When this song first came out, it almost seemed to be a "Mantra" dedicated to those women who find themselves in abusive relationships, yet can never seem to take that step away and 'stay' away from it. Always going back into the same life over and over again. Not JUST the women either, but also the men in those relationships who are the ones actually being abused by the women in the relationship (more rare, but it DOES happen, the abuse is just different) And it almost seemed as if it was a mantra for those who are the actual abuser, a 'we see you', as some may well and truly WANT to change, but end up falling back into the same patters and same routines.
It also could be viewed as glorifying these relationships but if you catch the end where he says he'll kill her it's saying this back and forth chaos usually only comes to an end one way. Which is kind of a warning and the real message to people in these types of relationships.
It's not even more fucking rare. Men just don't have the same resources to report shit and culturally, tend to let abuse slide. It's why you commonly hear/see women hit their partner even if its slight and nobody bats an eyelid. Of everyone of my relationships and friend relationships, the woman hitting you on the arm or whatever is common place, it's not abuse to most of us guys because we know we can fuck em up if we wanted to but by definition, is still physical abuse.
I want to thank y'all for putting me back on Eminem growing up I was a major M&M fan but to be straight up his last three albums I haven't heard so I'm about to go back and listen to everything from the beginning
@@Uub27 I love mtbmb but I never gave revival a chance. I know it's not popular by most... I'll have to give it a listen one day and form an opinion hah
It's a metaphor for loving a toxic person so much you believe when they promise to change. I love the way you lie could be loving when they promise not to do it again. The passion brings out the best and worst in the relationship. *** listen to Rhianna's full version of this song. It might help you understand it better. Much love, guys,!
Probably one of the best rap songs. The delivery was excellent, the content, the lyrics and whole story. This song low key has everything. Took me a little bit to think about it and notice this.
The reason other people say his earlier work is better is because they have connection to that time that he released it, but you guys are young and won't get some of what hes saying since it relates to certain event during that time period.
Yeah I just turned 24 & I hate the new shit unless it's good in articulate with word choices I'm not gonna bop my head to someone who can't read or write or just lazy
She’s describing how people get stuck in a toxic relationship, one or both people will tell the other exactly what they want to hear, it’s a very real scenario that happens to a lot of people, ESPECIALLY people who are ALREADY DAMAGED! Speaking from experience.
Eminem doesn’t have any “bad” albums aside from Revival imo. Eminem Show is my personal favorite album because it’s the perfect mix of Shady, Eminem, and Marshall. Not to mention that his 2002 voice complimented those rock heavy samples and snares. Lightning in a bottle…a true classic album.
I love watching you! I’m 65 and love your honest take of some aged rock and roll bands/songs. I love the respect that you show to each other, it says a lot about your character. God Bless Brothers ❤!
When I started getting into music this was the first rap album I listen to in its entirety so I have some bias for it but I think it is his best album.
For some reason people sleep on Recovery. This is one of my favorite Eminem albums as well. The reason they hate it is because Em was known for his gritty sound. The Marshall Mathers LP had a haunting horror movie sound and feel to it. It was like a horror movie set to music and graphically shocking lyrics. He became known for that sound. The fans that loved that side of Em never grew with him. The Eminem show came right after that. It was a total banger album from beginning to end. That’s my favorite album. To be honest, that’s when Em picked up a lot more of his black fan base. He wasn’t rapping about rape, or satanic craziness on the Eminem show. He was just showing off his lyrical skills and story telling ability. It is some of his best work. And the beats made it something you could play in the clubs, unlike the Marshall Mathers Lp. The Slim Shady Lp, and Marshal Mathers Lp had taken over the world already, and Eminem was the biggest name in music. Not only in rap. But in all of music. 8 mile had just done crazy numbers at the box office, and now his third studio album,(The Eminem Show), took over the world. Fast forward to Relapse. It was a return to his gritty crazy horror movie sound. “3am in the morning.” “Wide awake”. Songs like that. The fans that really rocked with that sound felt like that was a great album. But the majority of Em fan base hated it. His accents were weird to them, and they felt like it was over kill. It got bad reviews. Even though day 1 fans loved it. Em’s response to what he felt was a failure was to do something totally opposite of that gritty horror sound. He made a pop feel good sounding album called RECOVERY. An album where he was showing off his lyrical Dominance, to upbeat, pop sounding tracks, and very anthemic chorus’. It is also some of his best work. But it wasn’t gritty and grimy. So a lot of hip hop heads who like Em only for his gritty sound said Em sold out and went pop. They didn’t know how to pivot, and appreciate him for his ability to dominate multiple sounds. So they hate on recovery instead of realizing how dope it really is. If you are working out, you can play it from beginning to end. No skippables. Let’s be clear. I like mist of his albums. I’m not crazy about a couple of them. The Marshall Mathers Lp is probably his most important album. It demented his legacy, and defined him to the world. It’s a classic hip hop album. It even transcends hip-hop. But recovery is just a feel good album from top to bottom. Even in a song as silly as WTP, you can tell he is killing it with cadence and flow. They need to put some respek on my boy name!!! Lol🤣
MMLP & MMLP2. The Eminem show. The slim shady lp. Relapse. Recovery. My top. Em has always been amazing but I grew up with a lot of his older music so I gotta list his some of his older albums first.
The 2001 Marshall Mathers album. It’s super relative to that time when school shootings first started happening. Only a year after 9/11 and the start of the Iraq war. It’s super deep and crazy bc the world was crazy at that time kids and teenagers were angry and confused. This turned me from a fan to a Stan
Wife here..I was a very young woman when eminem first emerged on the scene..Love this collaboration!!!..WOW..(This is Heartbreaking)..You guys are always sooo quick witted..
When this song came out, a lot of people felt like it was glorifying toxic relationships and I will agree that it does certainly seem to be in most of it. However, as someone who has been in 2 very toxic, intimate partner relationships (one of which I was in when this song came out), I relate to it in a different way. For me, this song felt like almost a cry of "hey we get it, we see you and what your going through" because unless you have been in that kind of relationship, you really don't get it. It is so easy to stand on the outside and judge the people in it and think of them as crazy or dramatic for staying in an obviously bad situation. "Why does he stay with her if she treats him like that? Why doesn't she just leave him?" As someone who's been there, I can assure you it's just not that simple. You become comfortable in the dysfunction and addicted to the cycle. The relationship takes on a very bipolar essence. The lows and bad times are catastrophic and detrimental to both sides but those high and good times, man, they are like doing the best drugs on top of a mountain high! In those high and happy times you are so in tuned with each other and so on top of the world, you literally feel invincible. This isn't the general ups and downs of normal relationships. This is Mt. Everest high followed by Marina Trench low. It's those highs you become addicted to and in those high times you are actually able to convince yourself that everything is ok and things are going to be better. Even after years in it when you have finally realized that the high times don't stay, you still do and you're ok with the low because you know a high is coming and you are waiting for that next fix. By the time you realize your a junkie for the relationship, it's almost too late to want to change it. You've built a life (usually a dysfunctional and unhealthy life) but a life none the less and the prospect of tearing down that familiar environment when you have so much invested in it, is often more anxiety inducing than it is to stay. It's unhealthy and horrible but it's a devil you know vs a devil you don't kinda thing. So in closing; yes this song can be taken as a glorification of abusive relationships but it can also serve as wake up call and some solace to those in one. Saying "yes it's hard to see a way out but this will not stop, it will not get better and in the end you will both burn." Just my interpretation.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥...love the reactions, and album is solid....The Eminem Show is Ems best album....plus you need to do more songs from M2BMB....Yah Yah Yah is INSANE!!!!! Love the channel!
Recovery is a great album but idk if it’s even a top 5 Eminem album for me. I like them all but I’d probably rank them like this: 1.) The Eminem Show 10/10 2.) The Marshall Mathers LP 10/10 3.) Relapse 10/10 4.) The Marshall Mathers LP 2 9.5/10 5.) Recovery 9.5/10 6.) Slim Shady LP 9.5/10 7.) Music To be Murdered By 9/10 8.) Encore 8/10 9.) Kamikaze 8/10 10.) Revival 7/10
Marshall Mathers LP is his best album by far. ...but opinions are assholes, we all have one. ...to each their own. ..great reaction fellas. ..keep doing your thing. MUCH LOVE
The Eminem Show is his best album. Sing For The Moment, Business, Square Dance, Till I Collapse, Hailie's Song, Say Goodbye To Hollywood, My Dad's Gone Crazy!! I mean common, they all hits and classics
Lock it Up, No Regrets, and You Gon Learn gotta be on the list to do next. Stuff that’s more current. Been a day one and it’s awesome to see yalls growth
I've never seen anyone ride for Recovery like you guys do. It's beautiful that Stans can have such variety of opinions. My list is: Eminem Show, Marshal Mathers LP, Relapse, Slim Shady LP, Marshal Mathers LP 2, Kamikaze, Music To Be Murdered By, Encore, Recovery, Infinite, Revival. I love Recovery too.
Love you guys. 😍 I think Em is a genius, so he has several best albums. I personally vibe to The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, and Recovery equally hard... but I also love some tracks from Encore and Relapse, so I can't say they're bad albums... just not as perfect.
I’ve been requested these songs for I don’t how long man.. Eminem ft. Anderson Paak - Lock it up WESTSIDE Boogie ft. Eminem - Rainy Days Eminem ft. Jack Harlow and Cordae - Killer (remix) Eminem ft. Cee-Lo Green - The King and I It would also be awesome to see you guys react to: Xzibit ft. Eminem - Don’t Approach Me (song from 2000) Xzibit ft. Eminem and Nate Dogg - My Name (from 2002)
If you would have asked me ten times before 2020 what my favorite Eminem album was, 6 times I would have said Recovery, and the other 4 I would have said The Eminem Show... However, Music To Be Murdered By is my favorite Eminem album now! MTBMB has the wordplay of Recovery taken to the next level, the hard soldier of The Eminem Show taken to the next level and has the greatest collection of beats Eminem ever spit on, on a single record. Honestly, he just keeps getting better with age, but I got no problem with anyone thinking Recovery is his best album. You can just hit play on Recovery and let it go until it is over! By the way, you really need to listen to Untitled from Recovery. When Recovery first came out, you had to listen to the entire final track to get to listen to Untitled because you couldn't select it as an individual track, but they changed that when Eminem came out on Amazon streaming. They released a special version where Untitled was just a track, instead of coming after the last listed track. It is straight fire!!! I love watching all of your Eminem journey so far, even if I know some of you are familiar with his music, it is nice to watch you rediscover songs you haven't heard in a while and seeing all of you find new bangers from Em! There are plenty more for all of you to listen to, and I can't wait to see the rest of your reactions! I'm going to suggest my favorite song from Kamikaze, Greatest as your next Em song! It is insane, the beat is crazy, the wordplay is crazy, Em's cadence is unbelievable, and he switches it like 15 times in the song! it is just insane!!!
In my opinion... The Slim Shady LP The Marshall Mathers LP The Eminem show Those are three flawless masterpieces. You should sit and listen to the entire Slim Shady LP straight through. You can make 19 videos out of it. Young Em is the greatest MC ever at his absolute best. If you don't have time for that... Listen to "Just the Two of Us" from the Slim Shady LP Then listen to the prequel to that "Kim" from the MMLP. Fucking mindblowing.
The lie she loves…”baby, I’m sorry. I’ll never do it again. I promise. I love you”. It’s knowing that after the pain, the “representative” will come back…the one that you were fooled into loving. So, you’ll endure it all, just to get to the “lie” at the end. Such a deep f’in song.
It’s cool seeing how music brings y’all together you can tell at the beginning of the video it was kinda tense and awkward but as soon as the beat drops it all goes away
If you want a song that goes hard and hits deep, check out "Ghost by the band Badflower". Such a powerful song with great lyrics. It's melodic with a heavy chorus. You won't regret listening to this song. Please consider reviewing it. 🙏 God bless y'all.
Guys it's about going around in circles. It's hard to get out of a toxic relationship, especially if you still love the person who is abusing you. it takes a long time to get out and once you are out it takes a long time to heal and move on, take it from a warrior 🙂
