This is the video (the clip from the 70's in this RU-vid video) that I was talking about. I remember seeing that video when I was younger. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O5voNyRmvXs.html

Eminence Front is from The Who's last proper studio album featuring John Entwistle & Kenny Jones & the album is called It's Hard & it was released in 1982. It is being reissued this year 2022 on double coloured vinyl as a double L.P. which has been remastered at half speed, so it should sound amazing. The reissue will feature a version of Eminence Front with Roger Daltrey on lead vocals, so that will be interesting to hear. The recording you are watching I think is from Toronto in December 1982 on the farewell tour with The Clash as the support.

When I 1st heard Eminence Front by The Who was an Episode of Miami Vice called Killshot their on Don Johnson aka Sonny Crockett's boat making a 2 key drug deal. Crockett's cop buddy's r undercover waiting on Crockett's word, then when he says the word then the cops start shooting n the fireworks start to happen. Then Crockett starts his fast boat then rides away from his cop buddies as they chase him n the drug dealer in their boat as they hide n try to make a set up meeting with a drug cartel. Then he drop's off the dealer in the water n takes off on his boat. I also heard this song on a AWA American Wrestling Association promo intro. This would be a great intro song for wrestling or boxing. U need to a reaction to Won't get fooled again n Roger Daltrey's After The Fire. Ty, checkout that Miami Vice episode of Killshot n listen to the music. Thanks again to put good music.

There's a reason movies and TV shows like C.S.I. use Who songs for their opening soundtracks. It's because they're timeless great songs, musically and lyrics wise. What's amazing is that Pete Townshend just keeps chugging along even when he loses key members of the band like the iconic Keith Moon and one of the greatest bass players of all time, John Entwisle! It really shows who did the heavy lifting for the Who as Townshend was the genius behind the band!!!

I'm sure you know that besides being guitarist, Pete Townsend is also the songwriter.

This fantastic original song is way too short!! I love the opening solo but I wish there was one in the middle and the end of the song! Pete Townshend is so underrated not only as a guitarist but as a singer, writer and arranger. His use of synthesizer is ground breaking for this time in rock history and he wasn't afraid to bring in a keyboard player, an unofficial member of the band, and do whatever it took to make a song even greater. To bad Keith Moon wasn't around to play on this track but I think he died just before this album came out. Kenny Jones does a good job on drums. R.I.P. Keith!!!!

Your dad has excellent taste, my favorite Who song also. The intro is my favorite part. Tell your dad there are 11 & 20 minute extended versions here on YT that prolong it quite nicely.

It's hard for me to envision Keith Moon playing drums on this great track and I wonder if he would have played it differently than Kenny Jones. Pete Townshend probably dictates though how everyone in the band plays their part. I think Jones plays it just right though. R.I.P. Keith!!!

80s sound. Interesting what drive the 80s evolved so that even established rock bands like The Who or YES (Owner of a lonely heart) had to change their sounds into more funky stuff. But on the other hand the 80s are the logical result of the 70s in music.

Enjoyed watching y’all react and discuss one of my favorites. Dad’s got great taste! Would love to see all 3 of y’all react to something none of you have ever heard/seen. Haven’t backtracked thru all your previous reactions, but wondering if you watched Black Sabbath War Pigs Paris 1970? Love listening to that song since late 70’s, but that version KNOCKED ME ON MY ASS.
