Henk and Emma did a fantastic duett with "Vivo per Lei", a song originally performed by Andrea Boccelli and Giorgia Todrani in 1995. Henk sings in Italian and Emma sings her part in Italian and English. The song talks about how musicians devote their lives to music. Emma did a lot of great performances on this show. I think it was the first episode of the show when she talked about recording her covers sitting on a stool in a small room that she then uploaded on RU-vid. Just keep this in mind when you see her first performance in this show singing James Browns "Sex Machine" for Henk. After her performance Henk said something like "Wow, you really belong on stage and not on a stool in a small room." Also check out her duett with Rolf Sanchez "Pa Olvidarte". This song is on the 2005 album of after forever. Floor wrote this song for her mother who has to deal with daily pains. Floor can't. sing this song without crying.

Emma surprised me bigtime on Beste Zangers, not so much as Floor did, but even so. It was an emotional song for Emma too because her mother allso had been ill. Big shoutout to the Marcel Fisher Band also, they cover so many different songs and genres, really an awesome job! Btw they accompanied Floor on her solo performances here in Dutchland. I started watching the videos from this show because of Floor and grew to love all of the other performers that also appeared on the show as well. The one that surprised me the most was Emma. It was easy to dismiss her because she was only a You Tube cover artist but over the run of the show she impressed me most of all. I mean the performance of Strong and her duet with Henk are two of my favorite performances of the entire season, besides Floor's of course. I hope she gets signed to a deal so that her music is more available to us in North America. Oh by the way I hope the wife was listening to this if not please let her hear it.

Imagine "Beste Zangers" literally means "Best Singers"... any singer will not be invited into this show if they are not top notch in their genre... and capable to do something extra :-)... and Emma is astoundingly good! Great reaction!

Also Emma's mother is a cancer survivor who tackled the disease when Emma was younger, she sang this for both mothers. Good reaction Tom.

Emma was in the show just like Floor an outsider. Hardly anyone in this country can do anything with metal and Emma is just a youtuber. In that sense, Emma was taken even less seriously than Floor. Everything is full of prejudices. These have both cleared up in this show. And judging by the concentrated artist power in this show, the "little" youtuber has done a really good job that is in no way inferior to the others.

It is a show where 6 singers from different genres honor each other. The singers don't always know each other before beginning but over the course of the show they bond. Floor knew Henk and was a big fan where he had no idea who she was at all. Tim did know Floor and he is pretty big here so he is probably the best known this time. This is not always done by singing a cover of the other artist but also singing a cover of a song that holds a big significance for the artist. I think that Floor hasn't performed this very much as she can't sing it without breaking down. She wrote it for het mother who suffers from chronic pain yet hid it behind a smile and carried on doing her best to care for her daughters.

The song was written about the pain her mother has to deal with on a daily basis and Emma chose it because her mother had overcome cancer.

This whole series of 2019 was amazing! You really must watch the whole show, with the bits inbetween, English subtitles (not always needed, if you have imagination...) With the wife too, she will love the interaction between them all, picnics, getting to know each other...

I love this song, I have been dealing with horrible arthritis pain for 20 years since I was a teenager, as well as many other ailments, I totally get it, it is a weird feeling when you have to try and be strong to just get through daily tasks that most people just do without issue. The line that goes "I see every smile you fake", that is so insanely real, when you are with family or when you are at work and are asked to do something you know you can't do but you don't want to think you have an issue that makes that hard so you push through and you do it knowing your feet and hands are going to be horribly swollen later that night but you want to endure that so people don't think of you as being disabled or weak or lazy.

Hi Tom Floor sings this song on her solo tour. Floor can't sing the whole song all the way through without getting emotional. The original is good also.

I am probably the most biased person when it comes to Floor and her performances,and her own songs. Even her versions/covers of other peoples songs. But Emma came in and really shook me up,down and sideways..... In regards to who i prefer singing this very song,i still cant choose between Emma and Floor. (Floor has always broken up in tears trying to perform this,i have only seen her finish it without tears once,and its back from the After Forever days,and its a cellphone recording of it on YT) I was not aware of Emma before this show,eventhough im well traveled in regards to YT content. The amount of covers Emma has done,even being discovered by Shawn Mendes and other artists who actually loves her covers out there,im still baffled on how i have managed not to seen/heard her before. She was my biggest and strongest surprise from this entire show. I got told by some well informed Dutch ladies and gentlemen,that she has perfected her microphone work,to a point where people will question if she actually sings live or lipsyncs. And a few reaction channels have gone just there,when she performed "Sex Machine - James Brown" to Henk Poort (One of his favourite artists/songs) She moves around on the tiny stage,dances and never sounds out of breath,always on point,and her voice is so good,it can actually sound "pre-recorded". And trust me,i have heard Emma perform "My Heart Will Go On" and other powerful,demanding songs......Emma packs alot of power,when she wants to go there. She also does a duet with Henk Poort in this show,called "Vivo Per Lei". She was the youngest one,but followed powerhouse Henk impressively. I absolutely adore and love Emma now,all it took was "Strong". But her other performances there just added to it. This is a song that is best experienced with some research to the meaning of the song for Floor,and also the reason why Emma choosed it. Emma tried not to look too much at Floor,because she would get emotional herself,and potentially ruin her own performance. So thats why you see her moving her eyes around the couch alot,as well as keeping them shut. Floor wrote this for her mom that suffers in life (not anything life threatening,but still painful),Emma choosed it because her own mom is a "breast cancer survivor". Thats why you see such emotions at play. Floor even praises her ALOT after the song,wich can be found in a translated,longer version of this. This was also Emmas first ever tv production,so she felt out of her own comfort zone.....honestly though,she never looked like a first timer to me. She absolutely nailed it!!

This is close to the original song. She is a good singer but I’m not a big fan of that standard-issue r & b/pop style voice. I think this is good because the song is excellent. It highlights Floor’s songwriting skill with its unusual, slightly jazzy almost, melody. Watch Floor sing it: it’s a whole different order of emotional power.

Hi Tom, FYI, Emma's surname is pronounced Hays-turrs 😉. And while at it, Beste Zangers is pronounced "Bess-tuh Zangh-urrs". You should also check out the duet she did with Henk Poort, together with Sarah of course, "Vivo per lei", made famous by Andrea Botticelli. Emma is know most for the fact that she is a RU-vid star, currently with over 4 million subscribers: ru-vid.com She does live performances on tv as well, since Beste Zangers 2019. She was mosly know in Asia, but the show changed that drastically. Also, 2019 was the best series of Beste Zangers so far, by quite a long shot, IMO. She couldn’t have sung this song any better. The only big change she did was sing it in a different key that worked best for her vocals. Not uncommon.

Emma has a great voice and she seems to be a lovely young lady. My suggestion is based on a video I saw during today's live stream (it was one of the videos that popped up after you did a reaction). Actually, having rewatched Floor sing this, just over a year ago when she was touring her solo show in the Netherlands, I really think you have to react to it. It is just a video an audience member made on their phone, but it is amazing and an interesting comparison to the highly produced Beste Zangers Emma Heester's version.
