Amy Poehler is one a one-woman mission to remove the bitchiness and poison from the industry. Love how much of a team player she is in everything she does.
Agree 1000%....at first I thought she was doing a bit and was going to attempt to take the Emmy as the winner, but she's so brilliant that she surprised everyone by what she did. Funny, poignant and brilliant in every way. Created solidarity with her fellow nominees, a class move to share the spotlight. Did you see the look on Rob Lowe's face when she just bounded up on stage? Edie Falco hesitated for a split second, then said "fuck it, I'm having fun with it." And they all went along with it......planned or not, it was, as I said, brilliant. And how they all celebrated Melissa winning was the cherry on top. Whenever I feel a little down, I watch this. There are awesome people in this country. Amy Poehler, will you marry me?

This is frickin epic. What's the bet it was Amy's idea to riff on pageanting? And seeing all those funny ladies up there getting a laugh (and a hand) was so much better than any one of them winning.
Melissa's win was made extra sweet having them all up there. Amy is a genius & a generous performer. Even if she does not walk away with the trophy, she earns mad respect for getting all the nominees in the spotlight (with a standing ovation). The 2nd best moment; Melissa & Amy presenting for lead actor in a miniseries. Their sarcastic banter about how "hard it is to be a man" was golden. Wish someone could scare up that clip & post it.
Love it. Amy Poehler is just so funny, and most of all I love that all the other nominees went along with it, since it's quite obvious it was not rehearsed. Women unit!
oh my god! I laughed so hard when Tina Fey, I think in the "role" of Liz Lemon, tried to kiss Kenny! I love love love Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Melissa McCarthy for doing this! hahaha! And she really did deserved this award!
I absolutely love how they can pull that at the emmy's. all of them know that it's not too serious and they just look like they're having the best time ever. This could NEVER happen at the Oscars.
Amy talked about this once. She said that one of the funniest things she'd ever seen was when one of the nominated writers for the... I'm not sure what the name of the Award Show was... went up on stage when he was called. I guess she was tired of not seeing anyone doing something like that again. Hahaha
Rob's face at 1:01 is just priceless. You can just hear him saying "Amy... Amy, what the hell are you doing?". And I love how she just looks at them like "No, don't mind me, just go about your business."
@chocolateapple - I'd give Amy Poehler free reign over any award shows; she's a smart comedian. Yeah, I saw the 2009 one I think, was that with the glasses? They agreed to do it at the roundtable that I think THR organised and filmed, but one didn't join in. I actually missed the 'e' off of unit, it should actually read 'Women unite'.
@billthecat666 Amy Poehler thought of that. Did you notice when they announce the winner, they do the "zoom" to the face like they do in all the televised pageant shows? lol.
The Emmys were great this year, the Oscars have a lot to live up to. have noticed that everyone at the Emmys seemed happy and smiling, you don't get that at the Oscars. If movie stars at the Academy Awards would learn to love life as much as TV actors, we'd have an eventful broadcast instead a comedian trying desperately to make people laugh who obviously don't want to be there for some reason. The producer for this years Emmys should produce the Oscars next year. :)

As much as I dig Melissa... Laura was bar none the best of the entire group. Yes, The Big C tackled a much more serious issue than any of the sitcoms nominated... But she gave the best performance.

@simssity1 Erm no, he is surprised because she doesn't usually do that. Also her husband or his girlfriend was probably there so he could have found it awkward.
