Here is my take on Spain's ground beef empanadas. Share and enjoy.
Ingredients for the Filling (yields one dozen):
250 grams Lean Ground Beef
250 grams White Onions (minced)
½ Red bell pepper (120 grams, diced)
32.5 grams of Beef Tallow (or 3 Tbsp Lard can be used instead)
½ tsp of Oregano
1/4 tsp of Cumin
1/2 Tbsp Sweet Paprika
1/4 tsp of Cayenne (or Red Chili Flakes)
½ cup Beef stock
1/2 tsp of Salt
Additional filling:
Olives
Raisins
Boiled eggs (optional)
For the Dough (12 discs):
1 and ½ cup All Purpose Flour
½ tsp Salt
½ cup Water
3 tbsp Lard
Oil or Shortening for frying
