@@tomdamoose2461 Got the models, paints and transfers for a starting force, but unfortunately my pile of shame has held me back for a good while... I'll probably get onto that after my Tyranid Warriors.
I am going to make an Istvaan 3 loyalist emperors children force with some world eater and Luna wolves marines sprinkled in to represent the cobbled together loyalist forces fighting their last stand against their former brothers (using emperors children rules I’ll just have some random marines in every squad painted in different legion colors). It will be glorious.
hey Macca, now that you mention the 3D printed models and all of that, i have a very large folder full of free STL files related to Thousand sons, i could share that to you if you want to help you when you make the video for the TS, the only problem is that the name of the files are in Spanish but they are pretty self explanatory so, here i am, cheers mate.
Would you know where to find free stl files for 6mm epic 30/40k? I've got a folder of generic galactic crusaders but am looking for more legion specfic units.
Phoenix termies are excellent anti-marine but against other termies they suffer. Regular terminators with power fists are a much better pick for that as they strike at I2 on the charge
Hello, ive watched your videos for about a year now and have always been a huge 30k lore fan. I plan on making an emperor's children force somewhere down the line (i have a 40k army but haven't actually played many games, im more into the hobby side and the lore). I really dont like this starter kit for most legions, and the 3rd in particular. And even though this stuff is incredibly expensive and i only make 700€ a month, i would rather build up a force over time than buying this box. P.S nice that you found that the spears really work for the EC, im gonna use them a lot too, mark 4 assault marines with some spears thrown in and phoenix terminators is the focus of my build so far. U make great content, keep at it
When it comes to Emperor's Children, I have always thought of a model armed with Masterly 2-Handed Energy Falchion from Conversion World.I have also immagined Lucius fighting with some similar form of curved blade. I've bought loads of swords from there for my Dark Angels and Black Templars, so I can definitely recommend it!
I like the intelligence of putting together other Slanesshi models, it's a simple but brilliant bit of creativity watching it slot into place. Yes, they were always rather ostentatious and fell very quickly, so this makes EC look distinct and be fun to model and paint.
Lovely advice, now if GW and Forge World would get off their collective asses and restock literally every Horus Heresy related kit before I die of old age. Seriously, the legacy terminators have been out of stock for at least six months, and the MK IV and MK III have been 'temporarily out of stock' for well over two. Goddamn GW and their short sighted stocking methods. As it stands I'm stuck buying the new get started box and nothing else. It's a good starter kit, but it wont suit my needs. My plan is to split the get started box down the middle Two ten man tac squads: One for Emperor's Children, the other for White Scars Give the Contemptor Dreadnought to the WS, and the Spartan to the EC Convert the Terminators to EC related heavy troops, and then go from there in terms of upgrades. My first purchase plan is to grab two of the new 20 man tac squad box sets. One MK III for the WS, one MK IV for the EC. That'll fill out my basic troop choices and allow for a Veteran Squad. From there its just collecting special units for each army until I'm shored up comfortably. Now if GW would just GET TO IT.
I'm interested in the ambiguously pre-heresy Emperor's Children army (are they loyal or traitor?). Also what do you do if you don't like beaky marines - cry?
The MK IV space marine tac squad set is finally back in stock on the web store. Might want to grab it now if you’re interested in having armour that’s not MK VI I’m gonna buy some upgrade kits here and there and use those to spruce up the get started box marines to be more “MK IV”
