Indeed you will get a meny with the battle summary and if you're lucky you can take ships as a prize. They'll be as damaged as you treated them in the battle, so you may want to consider how you plan on taking a ship. It also occured to me that continuing a fight after I won it, and THEN boarding a ship has a bigger chance of taking it for a prize. But it can also be me.

Thanks for the the naval tactics. Ive had the game a week now, and all i do for naval battles is hit and hope. This helps a lot!

Can you imagine the astonishing noise of the real engagements?! My ears would be bleeding...

How do you keep ships that you take...Do you need to click on them at the end of the battle or do they just join your fleet?

@ThePimpycat At the end of the battle you can add the ships that surrendered to your fleet, or sell them for prize money.

Grape shot basically works like shotgun pellets. Except, grape shot was one inch wide iron balls that if they hit a person, would destroy internal organs, remove limbs, etc. Really nasty stuff.

What actions must you make to higher your morale or lower your enemy's morale?

grape shots are good for breaking theyr sails slowing them down and if lucky breaking the wood that holds the sails

I'm pretty sure grapeshot is more effective when a ships hull damage is bad because the crew is more exposed. But I'm not entirely sure so don't quote me on it.

hey, can you use marines in this game or put land units onto your fleets to help with ship boardings?

The grape shot is underrepresented, particularly for Britain, British naval doctrine was to use large numbers of carronades, cannon used as massive shotguns, to rip crews apart, and postion ships on each side of an enemy line astern to attack the rear upwind section so the crews were massacred. Carronade used musket and cannon rounds mixed to devastate shipos at close range, but in E:TW carronades are not as powerful as they should be and British ships do not favour them in gun loadouts. ;-(

is it just sailors with clubs or is there riflemen as well

@LucanJacups theyr onboard the admirals ship... it says u have units boarded on ONE ship not all of them

imagine yourself the admrial screams like: "hell men! we lost 3 of our boardside cannons! get here the mortars/horse artilley" that could be a real funny shit :D

@GIDAN2987 That would be awesome, having line infantry with bayonets and tricorne hats shooting along with the marines, the general on foot fighting with the amdmiral in boardings,artillery shooting percussive shells at enemy shipts and theur gunmen aiding with swords in boardings, militia helping the crew reload etc.

it would be heaps cool if u could do a vid on wining from being out numberd for a naval battle

When aa ship surrenders i cant do anymore actions on it so how do i make them board my ship and make em gimme money?

at 8:50 while you were boarding with your flag ship couldnt you have brought in one of your other ships to the opposite side of the ship you are boarding to lower their morale quicker and kill them quicker too
