Until a few years ago there was a HVAC technician who did more than a few jobs at cost to no cost. When I was younger and getting through college he knew I was relatively handy and coached me over the phone on what to do step by step to clean off a sensor. Furnace kicked on within the five minutes or so. He insisted on taking nothing for the call. Sadly he passed away a few years back. For close to 25 years I would use no one else and sent hundreds of customers his way.

What a stupid takeaway. The point is more if the employee is making the company no money then that's a useless employee, regardless of if he's a good person. The realization that he's still making sure the company makes money while helping someone makes him both a great employee and person. Stop taking a cynical view on everything, you have the opposite values portrayed in the clip.
