And we allow him this rightful pass: Ramin is like- I have it all + my body is so 👌 I got them to let me semi-strip in Les Mis. (...ah those perfectionist-Persians. Gotta love ‘em.) ❤️ Ok so he hasn’t a “green finger” 😂 🤷🏼♀️...and this too we give a rightful pass, Ramin: on an (alleged🥀?🌱?) death of a plant & this “English-slang mishap”- as English is a language that’s never really made much sense to begin with. And because your vibrato (aka Ramin coined: “the shaky bits”) 😉 is just so top-notch unmatched perfection. + you’ve both lungs for days. 😧🤭😳😍 You; Ramin & Hadley: you are both God-sends. 🥰 & we love you. Wow: Bless these men. 👏👏
E talking to R in heaven: we died at the barricade while he lives! Okay let us ruin his Empty Chairs at empty tables! You mash up the words so the people laugh
Oh, but he does it in such an endearing manner...I love a performer who doesn’t seem to take themselves too seriously... and IDKW, but every time I listen to this bromance performance, I soon forget about his little laughter and get the chills when they harmonize so beautifully! It’s perfection! 🙌🤩👏💕
Its SO RIDICULOUS TO LAUGH AT SUCH A MELANCHOLIC CLASSIC that should rather touch every piece of your heart and let you have a glimpse of how deep their sorrow was !!
They say hate turns to love. I love it when the Phantom and Raoul eventually straightened things up and became drinking buds and karaoke partners for life. This is beautiful angel of music is proud af
So Hadley Fraser can harmonize perfectly after very little to no preparation yet forgets the words to a song that he's sung hundreds of times. An absolute icon :)
I think it's because he didn't start off the song.. You know, sometimes there's a rhythm that we tend to follow to remember certain things. It messes the rhythm (and to recall) when suddenly he needed to start in the middle of the song. Imo I think that's the reason he couldn't recall the words to the song.
My favourite part is when Ramin starts singing for the second time and Hadley mouths "that's what I said" until Ramin gives him a look and slightly pauses at "tomorrow" and Hadley's like "oh yeah, that's right". 😂
I went years without making the connection that Hadley played Raoul, because he sounds so different every time he sings. It’s really kind of impressive actually.
I imagine this would be the exact version of 'Empty chairs at empty tables' if Enjolras and Grantaire were the only survivors of the barricade. Thanks for the video! They are amazing.
Lol ikr! Enjolras/Ramin rocking at the song knowing everything he's suppose to sing... Then Grantaire is still drunk and stuff that he doesn't remember the words lol
Props to the pianist. (S)he is clearly trailing back and supporting the vocal decisions. It is just a beat of rubato back behind the harmony here but neveretheless enforcing a disciplined yet dramatic march tempo. The vocals are beyond but just a wee shout out to what is clearly a tri-et here. You can here it at the top of the harmony especially when the emphasis chord comes in. Chilllllllls
@@musikfunfan It IS that good a performance though. The way it changes from fun to putting you in the scene when Hadley hits that forgiveness plea line... Perfection from all involved really.
@@voidsmoak5141 I'm sure they still are lmao, it's just that with their individual busy schedules we don't get to see them interact that often. However, recently Hadley came onto Ramin's podcast The Hang and they are having a concert together (with Sierra too) in Tokyo this September! Not sure if it's still on due to COVID-19 though.
Well, of course they’re still friends. Ramin’s boy is even named after Hadley so that’s pretty clear that no matter how long it’s been and far they are due to any circumstances, they will always think of each other.
His range is insane. Mostly because it sounds natural no matter where he's singing. He's listed as a Baritone on a few places. And he's said before that the showrunners or whoever don't think he has the voice to play Jean Valjean (which, seriously???) Listen to him as Grantaire in the 25th Anniversary of Les Mis. Just....I melt.... every time.
Its a bit common for Baritones to be able to hit F5s. What sets him apart from a tenor would be his darker tone and his comfortable singing range or "Tessitura",
@@queenmeowmeow0983 haha have fun watching it. Its amazing. Ramin . Hadley. Alfie Boe. Lea Salonga. Norm Lewis. I mean they just got the golden cast for the 25th anniversary😍
@@queenmeowmeow0983 Did you watch the movie version? IMO some of the roles in that are miscast, where it appears they went for the name/star power over musical ability and the “right” voice for the part. I hope you (& I) get to see this performed live again someday...ideally with these two in it!! I’ve seen it many times, but never with these two as I live in the USA.
trentmcjiivers I love how Ramin closes his eyes and smiles in 3:14 and 4:14, when Hadley reaches those high notes so beautifully... I think Hadley is amazing too, and he seems unaware of how talented he is...
Love them both! I think they are both amazing, especially after I saw them in the 25th anniversary in the Phantom of the opera. I got the chance to meet Ramin after Les Mis in NYC 3 years ago he is so sweet & nice!
I love the banter between these guys. I think this is what they say. Do let me know if you hear something differently. [Ramin: I'm not sure if we have musical fans... Are there anyone... Or maybe we'll skip this one... All right we'll do it.] There's a grief that can't be spoken. There's a pain goes on and on. Empty chairs at empty tables Now my friends are dead and gone. Hadley: Here they sang of [is that the right words?] revolution. Here it was they lit the flame. [oh, my word!] Here they talked of revolution. And tomorrow [Raimn: inaudible] never came. [Ramin: I can't do this Of all the cares that you had today the word to this song is not one of them? Hands in the pockets; he don't care!] [Hadley: I didn't know the song] [Ramin: I understudied YOU in this mate! Hardley went on as well. Voice of steel] [Hadley: That's a long time ago!] [Ramin: Let's start again, shall we? They won't remember.] Hadley: There's a grief that can't be spoken. There's a pain goes on and on. [laughs] Empty chairs at empty tables Now my friends are dead and gone. Ramin: Here they talked of revolution. [Hadley: What's that?] Here it was they lit the flame. Here they sang about tomorrow [Hadley: Thats' right] And tomorrow never came.
Kathryn Scott I fangirled so hard when I realized he was in les mis the movie (he's the guard with the moustache...it took me way too long to figure that out!)
I love how merrily Hadley laughs after singing, "there's a grief that can't be spoken, as the pain goes on and on" in his gorgeous voice. How can both these men be so talented and so charming?
How Hadley can go from 'having NO cares😂' and making everyone laugh to making it the greatest, most heartfelt version ( with Ramin)of this song EVER!!!! Proves their awesome skills ❤❤
@@lawyerlover I'm thinking Ramin as Judas and Hadley as Jesus. They both have the voices to pull off either part, but I honestly feel like Ramin could do that "sincere love and anguish" about Jesus if Hadley was playing him and Hadley could pull off the "aloof yet full of total desperation". Plus, Hadley + Gethsemane would be 😍 Just my 2 cents.
Hadler strengths: smile, good looks, voice and acting shops Hadler weaknesses: forgetting the word and Ramin Karimloo weaknesses: NOT A DAMN ONE, THIS MAN IS A DAMN GOD AND I WILL NOT HEAR OTHERWISE
I would cut off limbs to see Ramin and Hadley perform live together, they are incredible. I can't believe I've only recently discovered their performances together... where have they been my whole life?!
@@shell150675 it's in Trieste tomorrow! I'm dying to go but it's a three hour train ride from where I live and I can't get time off work for a concert :( why does it have to be on a wednesday???
It does not matter how many times I watch this video, it never fails to send chills down my spine, break me into pieces, and heal me again. Hadley's HARMONIES, I mean REALLY. And their friendship just shines so brightly throughout this, from the banter at the beginning to RAMIN'S FACE at 3:14 and again at 4:46, I mean REALLY. It does not get better than this.
The trust and respect for each other when they harmonized though... just *mwah* perfection! Both incredible artists, but this is honestly vocal perfection to listen to once they sing in harmony!
love Ramin and Hadley even the mistakes! it seems like one of them always have to mess up a little bit when they sing together and this time it's just hilarious! it is on my bucket list to see both of them perform either together or apart
They are so good together!!!! my favorite musical actors ever!!! wanna be there so much, however, it reminds me of the alternative world where enjolras and grantaire survive 😭
I first saw Hadley in a cameo in a crime drama, years ago. I don't know why I Googled him but I did, then I found this video.... omg... such a magnificent voice, such power. And all of it so, seemingly, effortless! The magic of Ramin and Hadley in this video is just too incredible!
I love these two...we were so blessed to have had then on the 25th anniversary of Les Miserables and Phantom of the opera with my favorite christine Sierra Boggess.
@@hadleyfraser9281 Thank you for sharing your art.. ❤❤ I saw you in Les Misérables the movie and was clapping like a fool in the movie theater. Lol... [ARMY OFFICER (from beyond the barricade)] You at the barricade listen to this The people of Paris sleep in their beds You have no chance, no chance at all Why throw your lives away? I shouted.. "Yes!!! Hadley Fraser!!.
I just LOVE THIS! These guys who could very well be all serious, yet are just down to earth, not full of themselves, and made something that will go down in history...perfectly imperfect!
Ramin hits nots I have not heard before in this song, after they are not making mistakes they pull off about the best vocals possible on this very difficult song. Bravo
akshfkjashfkhsajh the stuff up at the beginning was so cute that it made me put my guard down for the rest of the video... and then the harmonies happened and ohhhhh shiiiitttt! that was so good!! asdkfhakjshf ahhhh
I'll admit that I come here, at least once a week, to enjoy the amazing friendship and mutual respect that they share. Ramin and Hadley are great individually, but together, they are a force of nature.
I've watched this everyday, too. The most beautiful voices and harmonization. Very powerful, and yes, I get goose bump every time time. And as nonchalant as Hadley is, you can see the music flowing from him so effortlessly.
Once watched, this video is completely addictive..The beauty, ability and chemistry of these two performers is something to behold..They perform a fantastic classic& take it to soaring heights!
The most amazing duet I've ever heard. Ramin first voice, Hadley second. I cannot hear ECAET again withough imagining their voices and Hadley's harmonies ever again. His concentration is amazing. ❤👏❤👏 Even my mother, who understands little English but has heard the song, was rendered speechless. Also, regarding Hadley forgetting the lyrics, come on, it was clearly a joke. They have both been through such a training that it's integrated in them by now. And they have rehearsed it before the gig.
