It’s not as far fetched as you think. 1. In Battle of Gods, Whis revealed that Goku pushed Beerus to used 70% of his max strength to put Goku down. 2. In Resurrection F, Whis said “I wonder what the Prince would do if he found out you(Beerus) gave Frieza permission to destroy Planet Vegeta” and Beerus told him “to keep it down” so Vegeta wouldn’t hear that. Meaning he was not only afraid of Vegeta’s reaction but also possibly afraid of the Legendary SSJ myth which would explain why he allowed Freiza to kill the Saiyans. 3. Broly is already stronger than both Goku and Vegeta who are already Gods themselves and made them run from him just off off anger and brute force alone. Mind you, Broly hasn’t even become a god yet and Goku said he wants to teach him some things. Which means he could possibly become a god down the road. If Broly becomes SSJ Blue he definitely would be a serious threat to Beerus. Whis even said if Goku and Vegeta would work together, they could go blow for blow with Beerus.
