This is a good start, more injustices will be addressed by the Nigerian masses soon hopefully. For example, 70% of inmates in Nigeria are awaiting trial...many have spent years locked up without seeing the four walls of a court in blatant breach of section 36 of the Nigerian Constitution which mandates a fair hearing for all citizens... many innocent souls are languishing in our '5 star prisons'..many innocent souls have passed on without getting the chance to prove their innocence..Nigerians have awoken!
Good job to everyone that supported the call. We stil have more to do to address the fundamentals of the actual problem by recommending solutions and alternatives to what we have now. The entire nation's police command should not be controlled by the federal government period. Every city should av it's own independent police department. This will give local people the power and ability to police themselves like it's done in every normal, sane and flourishing countries whose policy makers actually have foresight. That should be our next move, we need get out country back from these clueless policy makers.

The only way there can be sanity in the nigerian police force is to adopt a strategy used by some advanced countries..this is actually noy expensive to enforce.simply,all men of force must have a digital recording camera on their uniforms ,at the end of each day,the sd card can be appraised by the various unit head.The mere psychological awareness they are on camera will guide their actions as well as documented evidence of each operation.This should be a daily office routine.Also for patrol units,there should be a signature police flashing lights on those uniforms.This is how many advanced countries are able to maintain sanity in the system.
