So here we are at the motocross track on my new dirt bike. Enduro vs. motocross. I've tried riding motocross bikes on enduro days for years so here was the day i could try riding my enduro bike at the motocross track. The 2 stroke is a lot of fun and the bike was decent considering it's a hard enduro bike. But the harsh reality kicked in. The track is made for mx bikes and my talent isn't good enough. Although the muddy bits were fun. I will stick to enduro riding.

I do both with my crf... Your suspension won't survive such a big jump if u don't jump it perfectly. Better you get a kxf, rmz, or something like that for the motocross track and you will see its easier 😉

Derek Hallman yeah I use to do a bit of track but on x bikes. This enduro bike is a bit sketchy. Bottoming out the suspension quite easy....that’s my excuse anyway 😂😂 hope you’re well man ✌️

@@MidWestMX gotta crank the compression clickers up man, turn the rebounc down a few clicks, it will keep the suspension riding higher in the stroke, and landing on the landing ramps will be a lot less impact than coming up short and flat landing. .

I hear so many people say "I'm just not good at motocross" but they've gone from mainly trail riding to motocross for like the odd day. if you wanna improve just ride ride ride better yet ride with experienced motocross riders so you can watch them hit jumps corners ect. you genuinely don't need to push yourself way outta your comfort zone to get better, you build up confidence every time you hit a jump successfully

I’ve been riding enduro my entire life, rode a track a few times and never felt more out of place in my life... it looked like my first day on a bike! Totally different riding styles.

Those "hard bits you get on your hands" are called calluses. Often found with dirt under fingernails and normally accompanied by a sense of determination and accomplishment. I wear mine proudly and if i were you, wouldn't be scared nor afraid of them.

Try to stick to one side of the track especially after jumps seen too many people get crushed by another rider at the bottom of a jump after veering to the opposite side. Looks like you're having a lot of fun which is what its all about :))

Only tip is that you need to increase your confidence, you can do all of that just send it. My first day ever riding someone told me, just keep control and send it.. and i was doing jumps like crazy xD

If anything I’d say stay in the powerband a bit more and go in a lower gear coming out of corners so it doesn’t bog down also just send it 😂

You want to be lower in the rev range going around corners gives you a smoother power delivery thus more traction easier to control then when you want the power slip the cutch and wring its kneck you can bring the power in when you want on a two stroke just by clutching it

@@stevenanderson7471 really you just want better line selection on a 2 stroke, you want to be staying on wide lines around corners to keep your speed up and thus your revs high. 2 strokes are all about having to switch through the box more to keep those revs up.

@@Harry-TramAnh youll only realy get away higher up the rev range in a wide banked corner if you try going round a tighter un bermed corner at high revs it will spin out on you loosing traction and forward momentum. looks great feels amazing but a spinning wheel is a loss of forward momentum 2 strokes need good throttle control to maintain traction and momentum

For me when I was racing Enduro, I practiced and raced motocross, I practiced and entered Trials, and I also rode the forestry when permitted. The motocross helps for multi lap events and Trials helps on time card events where the going is much harder. Good luck 👍

couple things i learnt on the track: on the corners speed up and let the back wheel drift you round instead of turning round the corners also when you go over a jump soon as your front wheel leaves the jump rev the bike that way you wont nose dive and also obviously rev it as you land so you dont go ovber the bars :)

Definitely don’t ref the throttle as your front wheel goes verer the lip that’s how you do an air wheelie and loop out as you land and if you go over the bars when your land that’s a bigger problem

Better advice is keeping consistent throttle up to the face and through the face, you should only give gas in the air if you’re going to endo and if you’re going to loop in the air tap the break pretty hard

@@raccoon344 if your in the air with both wheels off the floor using the throttle or brake wont do anything just saying in my experience putting a tad more throttle before the front wheel goes off the jump will prevent a hella nose dive

@@triplea2188 It all depends how good the jumps are prepped but really you should be at the right speed to clear the jump way before you hit the ramp then maintain speed and regular standing position and you'll go fine

I’m shocking on tracks also mate, but the best advice jump wise I’ve had that’s really helped is whatever speed your gonna hit the jump keep the power smooth no “blips or dips” throttle wise that’s what will get u in trouble🤕✌🏻

Nice video . I did the hand protectors after I needed 6 stitches on ma palm of ma hand. Cut it on the Tuesday and had a hare and hound on the Sunday 🤦‍♂️ brilliant things and if it wasn’t for them I couldn’t of done the hole event . Well worth it . Can’t wait for the next video 🎥📹🤘🏾👌

Really gotta focus on weighting the outside peg in corners, elbows and head gotta stay up, get on the pipe coming out, stay smooth, hit the jumps a little faster every time, if you can hit the landing ramps it will actually be a lot smoother and easier on that soft enduro suspension. Run your compression clickers up higher when ur on the track and turn your rebound down a little, keeps the suspension riding up higher in the stroke so it can take some bigger hits without bottoming.

I ride both. Mostly vintage style mx because I’m old and didn’t start riding again until late 2017.. I have my limits. No triples, no big gaps, and no supercross style tracks. Husky fc450 for moto stuff and a beta 300rr for woods enduro. I just enjoy riding. Most of my buddies hate woods but I enjoy both. I think it makes you better and safer to mix it up. My 2cents from Missouri USA.

try and stand up a bit more during the trail, doesn't have to be all of the time in beggining but just try to push yourself to do it a bit longer every lap you take and you will see great proggress in a very short time!!! you got this man, keep up the good work and be safe!!!!!

I first rode a dirtybike in an MX track - Goldingbarn Raceway, The very next day I ordered myself a KTM EXC250f. Back then I was wanting to be enduro, but mostly rode practice MX tracks, now I just green lane... am very fat, old and don't mend easily anymore. Would love a go on an MX practice track again though! :-)

I've only been riding off rd 2 yrs sept been doing hare a hounds enduros loved it that much got rid of the 05 gasser a got a new beta 300rr last aug and what a beast . Last may decided wanted to do a bit of mx so got a 09 yz250f and now I've got the speed but cant get some jumps out of my head doing them and then lose all my time but gradually getting there more riding does the trick 💪💪

Having won a few events in this sort of riding, you just have to remember that motocross and supercross riders are insane, like I think crashing as much as we do literally loosened a few of the bolts up top, which is why I stopped. So you just gotta send it "go fast, don't die"

Just a few tips, while riding motor cross especially while riding a 2 stroke you need to stay high in the rpm and once your comfortable you can feather the clutch around corners to stay in the power, but mainly work on out of corner speed until you work on in corner speed the roll through also the best lines for someone who is new to motor cross is the outside. You can get better if you try, it’s all about seat time on the track and being confident.

Hey that was very entertaining. Probably going to be about the same my first time. Nobody was good there first time hitting a track. But one tip stick to your line. It will cause less crashes and then you dont need to look behind you for other riders, they look out for you if they wanna pass

A tip that I learned is that you have to stand up before you hit a jump and when you hit it let go of the gas so you don’t land on your front wheel. So when you land you land on both wheels instead of the front.another tip is when you hit a corner lean almost on the gas tank it helps when you turn.Btw I love the vids and keep up the great work

You look like you're fighting the bike. Loosen up a bit (thats also why you're knackered) and try to look further ahead. The further you look the less you tend to tense up. Either way its more important to be having fun.
