A wild invasive weed, Lantana Camara, is being used to generate electricity through gasifier technology in the Himalayan area of Kotdwar, Uttarakhand. An area where conventional electrification is difficult, Kotdwar has experienced the benefit of utilising the locally available menace weed, to sustain a better standard of life.
