Ingredients:
• 300g Rice (for 450g rice cake)
• Water (for soaking, grinding and adjusting)
• Vegetable oil
Steps:
• Prepare 300g of rice, soak for at least 6 hours
• Until the rice is turning white and can be break easily by nails
• Drain the water and add soaked rice and clean water into blender and grind it into a fine texture
• Drain the water out and extract the rice flour
• Mix rice flour with some water to adjust to the right consistency
• Steam the rice flour mixture until well cooked
• Spread some oil and lay a sheet of plastic film on the board to avoid stickiness
• Move the steamed rice dough onto broad, pour a bit oil and cover it with plastic film
• Keep pounding
• When the rice dough is not too hot anymore, start kneading the rice dough with hand until the texture is smooth and pliable
• Form the rice cake into desired shape
• We’ve made 450g of rice cake from 300g of rice
• Once the rice cake is hardened and cool down, put it in clean water and keep it in fridge, change the water daily and it stays fresh for few weeks
