Station 20 run to 5000 State Road, Fresh Grocer for the alarm system. Crews had a smoke condition inside. I originally intended to stop by the station and get some pics of the newly restored and remounted Federal 3T22 but my battery died on me shortly after filming their Sterling M-10 which sounds 10 cycles for structural emergencies. Apologies for the shaky video, kind of hard to walk and hold a small camera at the same time...LOL

Our fire department had that exact same siren when I was a kid. It too, was painted bright red... but it had louvered caps on the ends. It was mounted in the hose tower. Almost looked like a big old smoke ejector in a window.. lol. Music to my ears, as that station was closed/ moved into what was once the substation when I was about 15.

Can't believe you guys still use buttons to activate sirens! Where I'm from, they've all been activated via our pager tones since we got Plectrons in the 60s.

funny you mention that. I know someone who used to live as a child at that house right next to the station on the other side of Randolph Street. ooo boy!

The 3T22 in this video isn’t there, I think it’s being remounted, I think it’s original position was on a pole on the far right, but Idk. All I know is it is currently mounted right next to the station on the left.

Seaside park Nj down the shore had one of these sitting on a perch on a water tower across the street from our summer house cycling 10 times for all fire calls very loud and 1 of 3 covering the town

No computers..... Manually tripped. At the alarm board there are 2 sets of controls which are manually pressed. One labeled Structure and Rescue the other labeled Non-Structure. We now run the 3t22 at night time for fire alarms as well to avoid the sterling running a full cycle.
