Very charismatic got a lot of young fans of Linkin Park Breaking Benjamin KSE and warp tour into death metal black metal thrash metal etc. I wish he was still around if we lose all the nice people in heavy music were just gonna be left with jerks
@@snitztheholy5177 there are many great people in heavy music. As far as "real metal" Max Cavalera has a heart of gold man and he can't stand people in heavy music who are assholes there's no place for that in the heavy music scene and I totally agree 💯
Damn Mitch at his prime was just an unstoppable force the man was a monster, suicide silence was the reason I got into deathcore when unanswered came out RIP Mitch Lucker
Props for SS playing some real Deftones. It's like people forgot about Adrenaline and Around the Fur. ATF is definitely in my top ten favorite albums of all time. And yet another 100 cool points for Suicide Silence!!!!
I don't think they forgot I think it comes down to the reason I have grown distant from Deftones. I can say I lost my appetite for the band because of the toxic fans that reminded me all too well of Tool fans and I am turned off by that "I'm better than you" attitude I have zero tolerance for disrespect like that. Fact of the matter is Suicide Silence made me remember the name and I then listened to Deftones and I was reminded of how heavy the band is on 95 97 so the lesson is kindness goes a long way.
@@JusTVIDSE I bought that album on CD and digital because of Max Cavalera and the riffs on Headup that was heavy there are some melodic songs on there too but my golden tracks are Rickets Headup My Own Summer MX ATF. Adrenaline is cool too Engine 9 Bored Nosebleed Lifter 7 Words. And adrenaline was produced by Terry Date who produced Pantera accept RTS album 2000 cause remember the only job you got fired from is Pantera 🤘
There you go and according to Mitch that means you are a fan of SS. I am just joking of course but that's how I feel based on what he said before playing the cover
@@Corekidbeenybunny okay that's you're opinion and that's fine. However they're are a lot of people who love SS beyond this cover or 2009 The Cleansing and they love this band so I would ask you to be respectful to those people. Don't take this as an attack on free speech or me trying to censor you that's dumb I am asking you to be considerate of others that's all
Wish the audio was cleaner, but this is a great cover. I love how Mitch doesn't try to emulate Chino at all, and just brings his own brand of high, mid, and low screams instead. Very cool.
That's what you want to do is be yourself and people will flock to you. It safe to say that you can tell when a band is insincere it'll show take Sepultura vs Slayer. Both were accused of nu metal however Roots has very memorable songs that are very iconic and up there with Inner Self Territory Desperate Cry etc. If you go to Spotify the most streamed song at the top is Roots Bloody Roots. Slayer is a very different story the album devil in music has literally no iconic songs they are not memorable at all like Raining Blood Angel of Death South of Heaven War Ensemble etc. The song Stain of Mind sounds like a very weak rip off version of Loco by Coal Chamber if you're gonna do anything don't be lazy because it will not come out good. Do what you believe in and be passionate and that's when the best music is made
I like both but I think this song sounded better in the original tuning Deftones went harder in standard tuning than 99% of hardcore bands playing 7strings and drop tunings
@raidzeromatt deftones most certainly didn't use standard tuning my friend. At least none of the records that I learned did. Drop C#/Drop C. I think Steph was one of the first guys to use the 8 string regularly
If it wasn’t for Mitch I wouldn’t love the music I love. He is one of the many reasons I want become a frontman of a band. Mitch will always be loved and missed.
That is true good people make the music successful. Talent is only gonna get you so far but if you're antics overshadows you're talent then you're band is never gonna get to the top. Like Mitch Dime Vinnie Chester Paul Gray Joey etc. Everyone respects them and cares about them R.I.P. btw
This seemed to be the number one covered deftones song. At least in my area. I think 3 different local bands in Worcester MA area used to cover Engine No. 9. And I think a few bigger bands did too. No complaints. It’s a good song. Easy choice of cover. Simple riffs, funky verses, call and respond chorus, and just a dope, bouncing beat/rhythm. I can see why so many bands did it!
Yes I agree I would totally recommend this band to scene kids who are looking for something heavier to help experience new sounds and expand they're music variety. And Mitch being the guy he was he would've welcomed them with open arms R.I.P.
I got to see them play this live back in 2011 in Anchorage AK. One of Mitch's last shows before he passed away, and when the show was over and we were leaving, we passed a room on the side of the venue where the band was. Mitch took off his shirt and tossed it to my friend, he still has it I think. I miss those days.
I love it that you guys post rare videos of mitch He was my fav frontman from all deathcore bands 🤘🏼 Still fucked up that i coudnt meet him ... R.i.p. legend 👊🏼💪🏽
de verdad Hermida y Los demas miembros de SS no dejan de sorprenderme Eddie se esfuerza mucho y tambien hace un excelente trabajo como Mitch jamas dejare de amar esta Banda
Yes. Talent isn't enough to be successful for example the bands that young bands always bring up as influential are Sepultura Metallica Pantera and Fear Factory. You can have all the talent in the world but at the end of the day no one wants to work with jerks. Fact the most successful bands are Metallica Pantera Linkin Park and Sepultura and they are all great people very humble and down to earth and very approachable
@@marcopelaezfernandez4573 I agree both very talented bands and to me it doesn't matter because there is something in music for everyone that is why I don't believe in "this is the best year for music everything else sucks" type of comments because it's not one size fits all. I will say the best year for me is 1984-2021 and that is my opinion i refuse to put down other people's taste in music because i don't like it done to me it makes me feel bad about myself and I refuse to make anyone else feel like that
It's crazy how hard they fell off since Mitch has been gone. Been listening for years, Mitch even went to my high school La Sierra in Riverside, California.
