You LITERALLY just saved me a 200 dollar tow bill and a few hours of labor at a shop just by mentioning the key fob transponder. I had taken it apart to get a new battery at autozone and didn't put it back together. So 3 hours later I looked up no start mitsubishi galant and your video came up. I prayed to God and thanked him for sending me the guidance to find your video. Thank you soooooo very much. LITERALLY you and God fixed my car and saved me 500 bux. God bless fine sir
@@ThecardoctorTV I'm facing the same issue. I have a Mitsubishi Galant 2011. After replacing the key fob battery (which was not working) the car won't start. The key fob works properly (locks/opens the doors and the trunk) but the car won't start. I really appreciate any help.
I have this situation on my ‘04 Endeavor. Driving and it died. Sprayed starter fluid in the air intake and it would attempt to fire. Never threw a code until we did that. That was for a crank sensor that I have replaced. Also replaced the fuel pump (first). Checked the fuse which is good. Got 12v at front 3 coils. Don’t know what to check next.
Good tip Tim , can you test the one leg of the fuse that didn't light up with a test light to power and see if it lights up indicating a short to ground . Would it be a valid test or would some coils short out as they heated up.
It was a dead short even when cold. You test idea got me thinking. I may perform some tests with the old coil and try to discover the cause. Its a dead short to ground in the coil just don't know where. The coil that was bad happened to be in the front which made it super easy to find. Just unplugged all three front coils and the STG was gone. Then the bad one happened to be the first I plugged back in and bingo. I could have spent more time investigating and maybe ill do a part two. Blessings brother!
you seen videos on this same issue with Mitsubishi? I never know if someone else has made a vid since I rarely ever check, just see something and figure it would make a good vid. Then I happen to see in the side bar that Eric O has a video of the same thing and like 200,000 views...then I go, crap. That stinks. haha
Mine wouldn’t turn over, replaced the key fob battery and it works!! It was flakey about remote lock and unlock before hand, as soon as you mentioned the keyless security features, I ran to Walgreens! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im almost certain i have a short in the black wire that connect to where you pointed under the hood. would i have to replace the entire wire harness to be safe or would i be able to connect to it and run a new wire? and where would be best to get the new wires if i needed to
I have a 06 Endeavor . It cranks don't start unless foot feed is to the floor. Then won't stay running unless you hold foot on gas pedal and foot on brake pedal . What causes that ?
I would add don't buy a 6 cylinder mitsubishi get a 4 cyl. Why? The back coils/plugs are burried under the intake. 2nd if you have to overhaul the cylinder head good luck. I am stuck with a 6 mitsu it is a pain to work on.
looks very similar indeed! I think the Mitsubishi is a little more difficult to remove the upper plenum. Not sure why the coils short like that but I think the circuit that supplies voltage only being rated for 10 amp is part of the problem. I might pull apart the coil and try to see why it does that.

I had a similar issue in my 04 endeavor... turns out it was throttle position sensor on gas pedal. I removed plug for it and it started right up... im bout to order a new one. Or could it be something else? When I plug it back in it turns over no start.
My endeavor didn’t want to start but eventually did with much effort. No codes or nothing. I just replaced spark plugs, seals, valve cover and intake gaskets and one coil that was having a misfire. I have no idea why it’s not starting properly. Once it was going it remained ok until it was warm.
Thanks for the video, 2008 outlander 2.0. If engine is turning but not catching then try the spare key/s. It took a bit of head scratching but after three days trying with the same key I'd encoded to try the spare and it worked first time....believe it's to do with transponder within the key. Both keys worked fine for months then suddenly one stoped.
Hello Doc I am driving a Mitsubishi colt bakkie I was driving it then out of the blue didn't want to start or even kick start?my valves were bend because of the cam belt that broke but it was driving until yesterday
Lovely video!!! I am in an almost similar fix. MITSUBISHI PAJERO 3200 DI-D 2001 Fuel guage wasnt working when I received the car and I didnt top up the diesel. I was driving the next day to get the fuel gauge fixed when the car stopped all of a sudden (due to lack of fuel I guess). I tried starting severeal times and it just cranked. After several desperate tries it actually started, revved so high for about 5 seconds, bringing a lot of black fume from the exhaust and then it shut down. I also realised the same black smoke from the bonnet but couldnt tell where it came from when I popped it open. Now most of the signal lights on the top dashboard wont light up when I switch on except the check oil light and SRS light. The main problem is that the fuel filter still pumps out fuel when we manually pump it but the fuel isnt getting to the injectors, so it makes the vehicle crank and not start. Any advice to what to fix please? Most mechanics in Congo dont know how to work on other makes except Toyota and its giving me a headache since the car is in a garage 3 days now with no solution. Would appreciate your kind input Regards Felix
Hi car doctor, you know the wire diagram to run 4g63 engine with ecu, injectors, coil pack, and only CAS sensor (ckp and cmp integrated) or if can get energi module power to injectors too ... 1-4 and 3-2 order. thanks doc
Good tip man I mean good Tim man. Hey got a YTer with an 07 3.3 Town & Country that is backfiring. Po302 He's changed the battery (old battery was overcharging and got H2S04 on the wires) changed them and it is still not running right and back firing. He also changed the plugs. I sent him a link to check the coil pack out. Thought the number 2 portion of the coil pack may be on it's way out. His ground on the passenger side to the motor mount is good and he put another ground I think on the driver side. Anything come to mind that might help would be appreciated. Thanks
check compression would help. Make sure hes got the firing order right. Plugs and injectors common but the backfire is concerning. Maybe a valve problem? The coil is a super common issue as well
He just tested the coil pack and all are firing. Yeah compression. Gotta get him to do that next. Some 3.5 Chrysler engines had problems rotating the valves when they had little usage fix was to take em on the highway and blow the carbon out. He says he used sea foam a month ago. I told him it needs a touch from the good Lord.
upstream O2, exhaust leak, engine mechanical issue or PCM. If you can monitor the O2 data watch both the bank 1 up and down O2's and see if they act normally. The down should be steady and the upstream should fluctuate. Look at fuel trims and see if there is an obvious issue. Make sure there are no exhaust or vacuum leaks. O2 failures are common as are engine mechanical issues at higher mileage. Is it under any warranty still? if you don't have access to a scanner and there are not any exhaust leaks or rough running condition you could try throwing an upstream bank 1 O2 sensor in it and see if that helps.
The coils are reasonably priced. However when I checked , the special tailpipe coil insertion tool was outrageous. Think they're imported all the way across the ocean.
Question will a bad coil cause battery drain? My 2004 endeavor has been having an issue where ig it sits for a day or 2 it will be slow to start. I have to hold the key in the start position for it to slowly crank until it starts.
I always look to alternator when current drain occur s due to diodes failing. Toyota's are really bad for it. But others are not immune. Common problem especially if they say I bought a new battery and still happening
I have a 3000gt and it won’t start it cranks but won’t start tried starting fluid but it doesn’t keep the engine on it turns off after a second or 2 I changed spark plugs , fuel pump , fuel injectors , oil and put in fresh gas and still nothing can you give me any advice ?
Have the same problem on my eclipse 1g 😣 it just died when i started it up after that it just cranks and nothing happends some say its the cam angle sensor .
I have a 2006 mitsubishi galant 2.4lmivec and it cranks up but no start up cam you tell me what it is I cant moved it it just setting now it broke down 7 days ago I'm tryin to fix it up?
I'm working on have the same issue with a 06 eclipse 2.4 , cranks good , 12.43 volts . Had a friend try giving me a jump for 20 mins all it'd do is crank . Now he did drop the crank sensor the other day but no physical damage to it . Any help or advice is greatly appreciated
Just changed my back lights bc I was dead black on the end. Had no issues starting before..and now..I can't get it to start. It cranks but wont actually stay on.
i have 98 galant we have replaced fuel pump , fuel filter, spark plugs wires, distributor, starter an now alternator. it still won't start but cranks. crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor is next but, im hesitate to put more money into this 😒
Would be worth testing a few things to pinpoint the problem before throwing more parts at it. Maybe even having a good tech check it out would be worth the money. Just a tow and an hour or two labor probably.
oow naughty fuse lol. To save using a bunch of fuses put wires on a 55 watt 12v bulb + crimp straight spades on the ends and plug them into the fuse position. You will know when youve cleared the short lol, then put one new fuse in.
i havea 97 eclipse rs no turbo 2.0 i have no spark and no fuel to cylinders 1 and 4 car wont start ive replaced ignition coil with new one and replaced crank and camshaft sensors with used ones still doesnt start what possiblities are there for this reason i also bought another ECM plugged it up same thing any hekp is aprriciated
@@jabarinira6657 i think there are many possible causes. Did you want me to list a few hundred off the top of my head? Probably going to have to check some stuff and narrow the lost a bit. Or just start throwing money at it.
My Mitsubishi space star could start but goes off after some minutes. The mechanics and electrician could not find what is wrong with the car. How do I resolve this problem.
I have an 01 Mitsubishi diamante, it keeps blowing the fuse with the engine symbol! there's times I can run it around for awhile b4 it blows but another time it blew the second I turned the car on! it has blown it 5-6 times, I can't afford to take it to a mechanic and I know little to nothing about cars!!! so any help is appreciated
The Car Doctor would it b the coil without the engine light coming on? I had a friend of a friend hook his computer up to it and it didn't find any problems on the computer! I'm thinking I have an intermittent short but that's just a guess
update on the car, for some reason it stopped blowing the fuse! I have no idea y it just went on about a 2 week period where it didn't blow the fuse! however another problem has occurred, I drove it around for those 2 weeks with no problems! but about the last 4 days of those 2 weeks the car got harder and harder to start then 1 morning it just wouldn't start and hasn't started since! I tested the battery with a multimeter it read about 12.63 or about there so the battery is fine! we charged the battery for 3 hours thinking the alternator had drained it and it made no difference whatsoever! tried jumping it with the pickup still nothing! when I turn the key over there's no noise at all, the interior lights come on and it dings when I have the key in the ignition and the door open! do u think my starter went out? and if so could that have been the cause of the fuse blowing?
I got a 98 Eclipse Pro but I think it's on because my car won't start it just cranks you think that's what was wrong with it but ain't got no shift in the keys so
I have a 2002 Mitsubishi eclipse cranks but want start did this several months back then one day just trying to move it I tried it started up ran fine for a couple months now it's doing same thing cranks but want start could anyone tell me what to do ive done the check for fuel and spark both are working getting fuel and spark but want start o yeah also timing belt is still intact
