Your video was very inspiring how you could through small examples especially of the American car culture such as Hemi Engines , Diesel Engine and how well you explained compression ratio, You are a legendary teacher and there is lack of enthusiasm for the real Invention of IC and CI engines which have played a transformative role in history.
*GENIUS! He said, "A gasoline engine SLAPS the pistons down ... but diesel drives it down the WHOLE WAY."* *"That's why diesels have that legendary torque."*
Thank you!! I'm watching this so I can try to make better engines in a computer game, so probably not why everyone else is here hahaha. You explained everything so well, and now I have some very useful knowledge for my game, and real life potentially. Have a good day, Sir.
On rear wheel drive vehicles, when you're sitting in the seat of the vehicle, the engine is turning counterclockwise. On front wheel drive vehicles, the engine always spins the same way the wheels do when they're driving the car forward -
Aaraf Nasr well you mean drawing and knowing how it works right? Because actually you need to be an expert if you want to design (so make a concept of something that doesn't exist yet) an engine,to design something as complicated as an engine you need to study mechanical engineering not just watch some videos on RU-vid
The overall concept is taking stored energy and releasing it to create motion. The concept of the design is how to do said releasing cleanly and safely. With a liquid fuel engine, like the ones shown here, the concept is turning linear motion from expanding gases into torque, which spins the crankshaft, which in turn spins all the necessary connections in the transmission, all the way to the wheels. An electric motor, however, uses electromagnets to push and pull magnets on a rotor (the crankshaft and driveshaft, if you will). Sure hope that sums it up.
