Engine Guard EG-01 full installation video on my 80 Series Landcruiser. My 80 series is a 1hz with an aftermarket turbo and towing our 2.5t caravan the engine does run warm, I have added an aftermarket JRP 14in1 multi gauge to monitor engine temps and turbo behavior. This engine guard is an aussie made unit and comes with quality sensors and an auditable alarm that is adjustable to suit your needs, I am using this to monitor my cooling systems efficiency and future mods and maintenance to my cooling system is effective.
I purchased this with my own money an in no way affiliated with any product I use.

my other gauge is a JRP 14in1 multiguage that i have done another video about on my channel.

Thanks for the vid, I've done the same to mine, when up to cruising temps I've got virtually no difference between in and out though. Had my radiator refurbed last year so suspecting a bad fan clutch

Yeah something sounds a miss. Water pump and thermostat been replaced? What car you driving?

@@tinkeringtimmy4061 water pump hasn't been but thermostat was, n/a 1hz 80 series

@@Theosdadtv yeah have a look at your fan clutch it is possibly low on oil. You can buy oil from Toyota and top it up and also adjust the cut in temp for lockup on the fan clutch. When at operating temp turn your engine off the fan should stop with the motor. Cheers

Good video! Trying to do something similar to my nissan, on your inlet sensor did you just attach it to a bolt on your thermostat housing ? Thanks

Yeah mate, i used a thermo gun to check temps for a few days prior. Bolt showed temp after 10mins of driving, is slightly delayed in temp registration but will still show issues quicker then a submerged sensor if coolant loss is experienced.

Great vid mate. Just installed the exact same in my cruiser in the same location as you have, and am currently seeing an inlet temp of around 75-77 and outlet temp of 82-85. are you getting similar results when not towing? cheers

Thanks Trent! on the highway cruising at 110klms I see similar temps. Maybe slightly bigger drop of around 12-15deg. If your temp differential gets any less than that I would be going over the whole cooling system. What car your driving?

@@tinkeringtimmy4061 Cheers for the reply. ft 80 mate, so should be more or less the same temps you would think. still running the original radiator so might be time for a new one?
@tinkeringtimmy4061
@tinkeringtimmy4061 2 года назад
@@MrTrenooo no problems. Yeah if anything your should run a bit cooler. Yeah might be time for radiator change, also have a look at the fan and viscous hub. When up to operating temp and engine is shutoff the fan should stop with motor.

How do you set the alarms for both sensors?

Hey mate I’m just curious going on a big trip got a funny feeling about my viscous hub only thing I haven’t replaced in my cooling system and I’ve got a thermal hand help sensor like u were using was wondering what your temps were on the inlet and outlet?
@tinkeringtimmy4061

Quick way to check it is to get car up to operating temp and turn off engine, fan should be locked and stop dead with motor. If it spins change it out or service the hub and refill the oil. The temps I see are very dependent of driving conditions and ambient temps.
