I finally remove the engine from my 1949 Willys Truck. It went fairly smooth, and nothing was damaged. Soon the Dauntless with take its rightful place! I hope you enjoy!!! #willys #engineswap #jeeplife
I'm glad to see you wearing those goggles, it was nice to not have crap falling in your eyes, wasn't it? I think you can loosen them, you're not scuba diving, they just need to stay in place and dirt won't sneak in the sides. That's a hard job to do by yourself, good work! I think the struggle with single exhaust will be finding a y-pipe that fits the truck, not so much the motor, but if the forums have already figured that out for you, that's great. I'd suggest a quiet muffler, not a glass pack, the droning will kill you...well done buddy!
I’m thinking I have plenty of room for one pipe but the y is the concern, I’m going to have to do some measurements once’s it’s installed. I know some guys y it under the oil pan and I don’t like that, others do it under the bell housing. I’ll just have to see if a y pipe or a duel is better. I could run it duel back far enough behind the engine and then y it there into one pipe. The dauntless sounds good with any exhaust lol I don’t want it crazy but I want to hear it’s magic as well.
Metal dust in the t case. Silver will usually be bearing material and copper or brass will be thrust washers. In transmission brass will mostly be synchro blocking rings.
lol the dang thing is good at picking up higher pitch noises. I appreciate y’all letting me know. The computer I edit on doesn’t have the best audio play back and it’s hard to tell if something is to loud sometimes lol
