Why would Toyota risk one of their biggest markets with a non-reliable engine? Turbo motors have been prevalent since the 2000s; 20+ years is plenty of time to figure out the reliability.
@@jdesigns7239 yet, tundra already has turbo gate blocking issues.You’re probably type of guy who sells before even 100k. What do you even know about owning for 2 30 years ? And tundra just cheap out of their engine because they can’t make v8 cheaper than before( Toyota executive told me in person) he said “ It is economical decision”
@@Kaywonlee Lets not make assumptions, my 2nd gen Taco has 160k. I would argue the turbo v6 is more expensive that old 5.7 v8 do to increased complexity (which doesn't mean less reliable). I don't think cost was a factor when switching engines. There may have been a few new Tundra engine problems, but are plenty of testaments here on YT of ppl really using their Tundra's with no issues.
