Alfie you should make a video about a Brazilian club named Portuguesa from the city of São Paulo. They are a traditional Brazilian but fell downhill after a court case at the end of the 2013 Campeonato Brasileiro which relegated the club to the 2nd divison. After that the club in less of 5 years accumulated several relegations in national and state championships, almost having the stadium pawned and almost having to close his doors. Even tough with bad things yhat happen in the club Portuguesa still has great support in Brazil with approximately 500k supporters and by the time im writing this comment Portuguesa have returned to the Campeonato Paulista top flight and they played the 1st leg of the final of the Campeonato Paulista Second Divison against a team called São Bento. I hope Lusa returns back to the Brazilian top flight in few time. I hope you see this comment alfie.

Hey Alfie, I know there’s still idiots on here who don’t want me to keep posting this, but could you do a video on the turbulent recent history of Goztepe in the Super Lig? They’re one of the Super Lig’s most well supported clubs (a bit like a Newcastle United, Sunderland or Strasbourg if you may). In the 2001/02 season, they finished seventh in the top flight, however from 2002 to 2008, they were relegated five times in six seasons, due to their inability to reduce their outstanding debt which resulted in the football club being banned from signing new players during that time. In August of 2007, a business based in Istanbul, vowed to take them back to the top flight making them one of the top five clubs in the country, but they were met with lots of suspicions from the fan base, and then they handed over the ownership to another bloke called Mehmet Sepil in 2014. Anyway, they’re back in the Super Lig as a solid mid table/weaker top half team. Why am I bringing all this up? Because apparently Abramovich is looking to possibly buy the club himself, after being sanctioned from the UK. It’s a crazy crazy story and may you could look into this, not to mention, they are not only a rare example of a club that is considered a neighbourhood club, as well as the fact that they’ve played in 3 different stadiums since 2011, but also in 1969, they became the first Turkish football team to play a semi-final of a European competition.

Most of these guys probably aren’t really disappointments. It’s just that there are fewer and fewer 20-21 years olds who have established themselves at the top flight than there used to be. And it’s become really hard for even the darlings of major clubs youth teams to actually break out with their club. Guys like Phil Foden are just really rare because a club like Manchester City is almost always going to spend their money on older, proven commodities. Soccer has always been very youth oriented compared to most sports. Previously you could point to where a 21 year old was in their development and have a very good idea of where they will end up. But I think that’s changing. As players begin to play to older ages and stretch out the primes of their careers into their mid 30s, the age demographic in general will get older. I think this has already begun to happen and you cannot judge most 21 year olds yet the way you could in the past...

Quite a lot of Swans connections in this video, obviously linked to Cooper being our old manager. As for the players in that side who played for the Swans. Marc Guehi came of age last season with us, and is now starring for Palace in the Premier League, he might the right decision to stay with in the Championship and then moved to the Premier League at the correct time. Good Luck to him and good to see him in an England shirt. Similar for Conor Gallagher, however he played in the Premier League last year for West Brom, and is starring for Palace again. For Rhian Brewster, I think he made the wrong decision moving to the Premier League when he did, I think another season in the Championship would have been better for him. Hopefully for him, he can get his confidence back at Sheffield United. For Joel Latibeaudiere, he has looked decent for us in the Championship this season, but this is his level for now at least.
