The Canadian anthem was first written in french and translated into English. Maybe that explains the use of the wird sons... tes fils, including everyone... It's just an assumption.

Hey Mark, thanks a lot for your interesting lesson. Listen to you helps me a lot in understanding of spoken English. I appreciate it. Nevertheless, I have a problem with the word "pitch". I only know that word in context of music. I know "to pitch a tone" or "pitch perfect". In the end, I was asking the Google translator for its meaning. There are so many options and meanings in German . I'm afraid that I probably don't dare to use "pitch" in a different meaning as in music stuff. Sorry. Here in Germany, politicians also want to change words like "sons" in the meaning of "Oh Canada". Nowadays, here it's incorrect to say, for example, "Hallo Kollegen" (hey coworkers). Officially you should better say "Hallo Kollegen und Kolleginnen" to Include the female coworkers as well. It gets more crazy in written form. You should write "Hallo Kolleg*innen". Did you notice the "gender star"? Isn't it insane? I hate it like crazy. So I speak that German language what my parents and teachers taught to me. Crazy times here.... Thanks again. Hey Michael, Thanks for your comment! Yeah, pitch is a common musical term. We usually use it to talk about the human voice. That's crazy that you can't just say Kollegen. Seems like Germany is just as woke as Canada these days! Hope things change soon! Have fun over there!

Hi, as a woman, I would say the colour of a band-aid is important if you want to cover the wound in some visible places. In my neck of the woods (Transcarpathia) people got used to saying that there are people and there are women 😜 It sounds like a joke, but in my humble opinion it has a bit of a taste of discrimination. Thanks for your interesting thoughts🤗

I'm a little shocked what people think about the color of the bandage.The color of the bandage is white so that it can be seen that it is clean and sterile.If we put a black or some other color bandage, we will not be able to see whether it is clean or not.Thus, we can introduce an infection into the wound.😮

I always was confused to express the meaning of Man in English. In my native language and in russian we have a singulare form for People, its so convinient.

Interesting.👍🏻 No confusion in Chinese: ren (人) is generic, nan ren (男人) is man, nu ren (女人) is woman. To me, 'sons' are born in the land but 'us' includes all citizens, i.e. Trudeau got it right. 🙂. Btw, feedback on typo at 13:50 - not 'inhibited' but 'inhabited'.

If you cut someone down, it means you say something to discourage them and make them feel less important. For example, if you tell your brother that he will never succeed in life, you’re cutting him down.

Hey, in Arabic, there's a specific word to talk about man and woman. It's "insan" "إنسان". Man: "rajol" "رجل" Woman: "Imraa" "إمرأة" Stay healthy!

In Ukrainian "man" will be "чоловік" but it's not the same as "people"

Yes, in the Russian language a man is equal to a person: male or female. A son of man is poetic expression for a man.

I was really interested to learn about the "Sales Pich". Instead of going right to the topic you were talking about unrelated things as a filler while time were going by . So you absolutely dissapointed me. You didn't teached anything about the title. Your video is not worthy at all for those like me who are interested in the subject.
