I honestly want the AI to be more like the ones in Brothers in Arms. They know where cover is and where, Ideally, to shoot at. Giving AI an incentive to immediately seek cover when coming under fire from a target they can't see yet. And it would be cool if they added more variants in sandbag buildings for Engineers.
Funnily enough the AI in Brothers in Arms is a lot of smoke and mirrors. Like in game one will ask another to throw a grenade, but in reality what's happening is that one of them decided to throw a grenade so the other asks for it afterwards lol. But they have the cover points mapped out which are really cool. I'd like to see that in Enlisted. Like having little spots in buildings that the AI automatically recognize as good cover (like windows)
yes and be able to tell your squad to heavily lay it on a certain group of enemies or general direction. Would be nice if they grabbed ammo themselves too. This way you could truly use them to hold points other than them taking pot shots at the horde of enemies coming.
It would be cool if you could divide them up into two groups like in that game. So I could tell one half of my squad to take up on position and the rest another. And instead of them lumping up in just a tiny area they'd spread out a bit. Giving one group or all the soldiers a command to fire in a specific direction or at an enemy. That would give you more the role of a seargent and make you think tactically. Instead of just you the player running around doing all the work it would be very interesting to be able to use your squad like an actual squad. Getting kills without you having to be the one shooting all the time instead of having a squad of basically just extra lives.
@@pilotpug Yeah i've wanted a garrison order and suppressive fire order since release. Would be even better if you could order your troops to mount heavy weapons like MGs, AT guns and mortars and use a fire at position order. A charge order would be really cool too.
@@mrnexus8seven949it takes me off instead of reworking the AI to function properly they just nerfed it so it can still do that but now it takes like 20 seconds for it to respond to anything so now your AI is retarded now.
This is very rare in my experience. But i have noticed that AI in the back of vehicles seem to get no debuff to accuracy so can be pinpoint accurate whilst driving at full speed. Can be surprisingly effective at low BRs where few people have automatic weapons. I've been killed by drivebys the second i stop to aim my AT weapon at them since they have like 6 AI all shooting at me at the same time whilst traveling like 46 MPH.
Best use of AI right now is to have them safely take cover near where you’re fighting. When you die, you respawn as one of those AI positioned nearby. Going through this process with a squad of 7 allows you to keep alot of pressure on the enemy for a sustained period.
I just want the AI to stop going in front of me and blocking my shots at the worst possible time or messing up my engi builds. Just make a short cone in front of the player that the AI will never path into. Yeah, thatd be greeeeaaaat.
@@mariopossente5697 i try to build a rally point and they get insecure about being separated . Can’t even go to an objective without me it gets so old haha
Absolutely on top. I haven't played for some time now, but when I play I find myself mainly letting them behind me in some cover if it's possible untill I die, otherwise they die so stupid and quick, there simply aren't commands that will help me or them. But on the other side: if you gave us more commands, it will further complicate clicking all sort of buttons, and I don't think most players use even these orders currently in. So the solution would probably be just what you said: add just those 2 commands - passive (they get prone, in cover, shoot only when attacked and in direction you mark...), or agressive (go full die hard in box formation alongside or charge if you set the arrow in front of you, using their grenades while breaching and switching to shovels and bayonettes when they get in Close combat...). If that two commands are executed right in programming - it would be a great game changer.
They are a bit better from the last patch. Now if you tell them to how a building or room they post up in windows and immediately start laying down fire at anyone they see. Also they detach one or two to cover their backs and watch doors. They also duck into cover now when the begin taking heavy fire instead of just standing there or laying down giving the enemy a free and easier shot. They still need to fix when you give them a direct order to wait and 3 seconds later they're infront of the tank you're trying to sneak up on getting mowed down by its MG.
I love Lone Fighters. 20v20 real players is the best Enlisted experience I've had. And it's nothing like HLL: you don't need to jog for 10 minutes only to get headshot out of nowhere, you can always take a plane or a tank, it's really more like Battlefield, but historical (for now).
@@HeyQuadrowhen will you release a video on the progression system? You've been waiting for a better system like a tech tree but what they gave us was another linear progression, what are your thoughts?
Improvements: - fire modes: hold your fire, just like now (95% of time mine squad) just dont shoot. - fire at target: hold fire with extra, shoot at enemies near marked location - fire at will: open fire at any spoted enemy in range. Stances: - defensive: "glue" more to cover and that makes it follow much slower. - normal: default one, AI try to "glue" to cover if its not slowing it down. - agressive: its used automatically if you get too far from squad. When thay get closer again they switch to normal. Just like now. No special pathing or anything, just shortes and fastest way. More commands. From simple like fire at that location, to but more complex like take cover from that direction (for hold position command). And most important reworked aggro system. Bcs its not working. Idea is fine, but well i dont know know how high aggro my squad needs to shot at least once at a guy who gets into building and starts butchering them all.
I like the Idea of an agressive "Charge" command similar to the current attack objective where they sprint to the center of the point but like, sprint when I sprint instead of walking at a brisk pace 10m behind me to help attack quickly at the cost of stamina (affix bayonetts perhaps?) cause right now the move to X can be a little finicky with going through the floor (mostly Pacific problem) or the X point not being visible at all This or audible feedback from them when you mark an enemy squad or a section (Door, hallway, hole, ect) for something like focused Xcom overwatch
i wish to build a long wall of sandbags defending a point and park my AI in a line behind said wall and have them actually try to defend a point and not have them bounce around all the time revealing their position.
I was flanking a tank yesterday, so I told my squad to hide behind a fence as I approached alone. Two of them climbed on top of the fence and just stood there, and the other 3 ran around and stood on the wrong side 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Totally agreed with you, AI deserves some love and work. Top tier feature would be the reaction time to fire, like a supression status. If they get shot at and there is cover nearby, they use that to cover themselves from the angle they are getting shot at. Right now they just stop, rotate to the guy firing at them, crouch and shot once and they continue their route. I don't mind being at a point that bots are really good at shooting if we can command them properly without them being stucked or doing dumb things. Right now they are used just as a respawn meatbag and what is the point of having bots if you put them behind doing nothing just to get a quick respawn, like you said, we should just go play Hell Let Loose instead of that lol.
AI currently also has the weird gimmick of when inside jeeps trucks and busses that spawn around the map they are ALOT more aggressive in the shooting department.
the problem I’ve observed with the AI on Xbox is that when you spawn in and start moving towards obj that the AI will go into threat mode for a split second because of noise, explosions, ect on the way to obj and this causes them to stop moving and lag behind aswell as the fact that they don’t shoot when your pushing enemies for literally no reason
Sometimes my AI is so dumb They stand in front of machine gun fire or a tank They are all dead in the first two minutes of a game I would like to see AI more beefed up like you spoke of in this Video
I think that Darkflow should make bots stay in the trench or a building they're ordered to stay in. DF says they fixed it, but it still happens that one or two soldiers just run into the open.
A command they need for the AI is follow my path (not just follow). For example you run across a field hugging a wall, approach the building, jump in a window and currently your usually AI runs down the road and tries to enter by the front door. They would instead with this command enter the building through the window like you just did. Another would be to come to me order where you can lay down a point they should approach from. Currently when you cancel all orders they make a straight bee-line to you ignoring cover etc. This way they can be set to approach from a side or more covered area. There is so much they can do to improve the AI. I wish they would concentrate on that more for awhile than new premium "squads".......
I wouldn't want that as default, because I often want to be stealthy to prey on enemy tanks. Machinegun shoot tracer rounds will blow up my cover quickly.
I always thought that the AI when you leave it in standard or wide formation works much better, it spends less time positioning itself, if the AI had a little more freedom of decisions in relation to this, it would already help, something like dynamic formation
One thing I noticed with their target priorities is that every member of your squad has a pecking order of danger levels the A.I use to eliminate first. One that you guys may notice A lot is that the Radioman is always the first to die despite your whole squad being there for the picking. As he is the most dangerous member of your squad mainly because he can dish out the most damage of your squad.
@@HeyQuadro only sunk about 10 hours into it so for assault rifles I keep switching between the AK15 and the M4 if I ever need more range. Also run the 249 and the SSG69... because I haven't unlocked any other LMGs or snipers. I like the SMGs, but I find that they are almost always not useful outside of the smaller 64 player maps. Haven't really used the carbines.
@@ZacksScraps Ive found the SMG's to be crazy strong, even at medium range. A lot of the AR's feel like they bounce around too much and it feels random if i hit shots at long range
@@HeyQuadro yeah that's fair. Past 80-100 meters it is much less consistent to hit that second shot on anyone with an AR, even with a medium range scope and single shot fire. The recoil reset is heavy as. I haven't really felt out the range on the SMGs. Might have to try them out at range more.
I've heard from some people that they want competition when playing this game. This isn't really a fast paced fps game, like Battlefield or CoD, competition wise. If it was, then Lone Wolf would've been its main selling point. The bots can make it very intense and fun, gotta get past that they are robots tho gamers 👍. I'm glad that, at its core, Enlisted is what it is because it makes the game fun, casual and even sometimes intense, and yes that's with the robots. The Ai undoubtedly needs some sort of tweaks, but perfecting this kind of Ai is easier said than done, so lets be a bit fair.
What about when you aim at A.I even with iron sights they start dancing around so you can’t hit them or hiding before you even pull the trigger? It’s bs honestly.
Also as for Quadros comment about HLL. Not everyone has a magic machine known as an Xbox Series/PS5./PC. As HLL is incompatible with old gen Xbox one's and ps4's. Which is likely why a lot of us are on Enlisted instead of HLL.
if u play bf2042 , the AI bots in the server browser, are annoying and shitty asf, because they beam on to you and can detect you from behind bushes etc. if the AI get too good in this game, then i feel like it will wreck the game
My whole squad run to an enemy grenade to be all dead. Then my squad member runs into fire burns to death while trying to turn it off. My squad get killed by one enemy who enters the rooms doing nothing. But the best part is when I have full squad somewhere waiting for my run. Ill die and want to switch next second all squad members are now dead and the last i switch i die before i can even react. Tanks are broken as hell too
I just want Halo CE or GTA 4 AI, and yiu can balance it by making the AI only do maybe 33% damage to players. Also commands like "suppress that area" and you would have to manage your squad's ammo levels to balance it.
i wish the AI was very accurate but maybe did half-damage, compared to the damage players do with the same weapons. So the AI would be threatening but not so much that they totally dominate the game
AIs play a major role in the game yet Enlisted doesn't seem to care enough about them. The whole game feels like a chicken shoot because of how stupid they are.
@@chrismorgan1996 how? i only have the 3 infantry suqads and the one tank squad. that is 4, if you only get 2 from premium where does the last squads come from then?
I always thought it's more like 'Shoot enemies in sight' not perse 'Shoot the enemy with the highest threat level' ..I'd rather have them just shoot tbh... And If they had "machine learning" they would be on par with top players lol.. So there is some cap I guess
As bad or btter the AI is right now I take tgat over late last year where AI could detect and counter snipe me. Or just snap shoot so you could never solo even a 4/5 man squad cuz tge one you werent shooting would about face into headshotting you. I dont like now however that my AI squad doesnt us flamethrowers or grenades or any AT weapons that I can think of. And i can't leave a second eng to build something if I change to another class in squad
AI is useless and I only play lone fighters against real people. If I want to shoot large numbers of AI idiots, I can also play Call of duty 2 singleplayer. And even those are probably better than bots in Enlisted. And the larger squad you have, the larger amount of targets you bring to enemy. They mostly just run behind you showing everybody that you are moving in front of that row. They happily die standing like dumbs while somebody mowes them with SMG (or many times even with knife). I still hope that they will make "play alone" mode into standard squad games too. So you'll be able to choose if you want to play with squad or just select one guy like in custom lone fighters. And custom lone fighter mode needs TEAMKILL ON/OFF selector. There are countless imbeciles just shooting everybody around for fun, stabbing people in back etc. And autokick often does nothing until they reach somethin like -900 which is frustrating and easily can destroy whole game if one such imbecile decides to bomb team rallypoints and shoot people that are trying to do something for team.
