It seems like so far the Enneagram videos have taken at least 4 months so far to be made, with a separate video in between? Type 9 might come late 2023-early 2024 at the earliest at that rate, maybe earlier if our boi does some back-to-back

Another example of a 2 would be Maui from Moana. He covers up his insecurity with pride, like you mentioned, but he essentially did all of these things for humanity so they'd give him the love he never got from his parents. It's pretty much spelled out word for word in the movie: "You took the heart for them. You did everything for them, so they'd love you."

Agreed, 3w2 fits better. He never got love from his parents, so he makes it up by accomplishing great feats to earn their love. The difference from him and a type 2 is surprisingly in the "You're Welcome" song. It's not him singing about his love, but about how he did all these great things that people didn't know about. "You're welcome."
@clearskies2434
@clearskies2434 2 года назад
i wanna explain why, because he didn't try to earn love in 2 kind hearted lovable person style, he tried to earn their love by being the best at everything and being arrogant. that's more of a 3 style

This is my absolute favorite enneagram series. Showing movie characters as examples of enneagram types really fleshes out my understanding of the enneagram in a way that pure theory doesn't quite do it. Was waiting for this one. It’s always easier to spot the unhealthy levels of a 2 and harder to find them when they integrate because of how little emphasis they put on themselves outwardly, so really appreciated the insight to the healthier characters. As a 2 the shame of existing bit hit harder than I was expecting, even though I’ve read many enneagram books, somehow when it’s brought up it always feels like a new kick to the gut 😂 Beautiful video. Thank you for all the research and work you did for this. Really appreciate it!

God this made me cry. I’ve had to do a lot of soul searching lately because of a breakup and an unhealthy expectation that my ex and I would get back together (spoiler alert, absolutely not) and I really recognize now, as a two myself, that a lot of my unhealthy coping around the situation was focused on how I appeared to them, and others during the healing process. I do resonate very much with the idea of being ashamed to be alive, and needing to make up for the fact that I’m myself by over performing for others. It all hurts to hear so frankly, but it’s all true. This video is helping me see what I can do to be better for myself alone, and how that’s valuable in itself.

My mom is a 2. She's a very unselfish person who has helped a lot of people and animals and has been a rock to our family. Unfortunately, though, she's the only consistently dependable person in our family, and the rest of the family has constantly taken from her and given little back. Understandably, my mom often gets stressed out and resentful, because she has so many people and animals who depend on her, but she doesn't get any help.

I'm a 1w2. Really enjoyed this video. It's strange, I have always wanted to help people out but have also been aware of my desires disguised in this "help." I think my type 1 concerning itself with being morally sound is why I fixate so much on not falling prey to this flaw. However, I can be self-destructive about this. I had a phase where I would do whatever I could to help people "behind the scenes" in a way, not wanting credit for fear that I would become attention-seeking and prideful (as I have seen happen to others). Your vids helped me overcome this while maintaining my awareness of my ego. Thanks a ton!

If anyone will put the utmost care into giving each type fair and balanced treatment, it’ll be Josh Keefe. I trust him completely with doing the enneagram justice.” And I really do. - a sx/sp 548 who adores your videos

I wanted to give you Two’s some love back: You are compassionate and altruistic, as you instinctively see straight through people’s fake façades and push yourself to the limit to help those who need it most. You do not wait for people to ask for help, not do you pretend that you don’t notice someone else’s suffering. You are brave, persevering, strong, so so strong, as you take upon your own needs and desires more times than you probably should, all of it in order to make someone you love (or even a stranger!) smile a true smile of joy. The world needs people like you, but you should still remember that you also need (AND deserve) someone like you to take care of you. ❤ When you are in good health, your only presence can make anyone’s day and faith in humanity shine a bright, renewed light for you show the people around you what a true golden heart can look like ! From a type One in growth 🙂

I have and will continue to utilize them for my clients- you are truly impacting the lives of so so many) In my experience/opinion the matriarch of toxic/unhealthy family systems is one example of a definitive unhealthy 2 moving toward the 8. As an average 2w1, a lot of what you said rings true for me. I am constantly going back and forth between feeling prideful, wanting to get my needs met in manipulative ways and being straightforward about my needs and helping because I actually want to. Also, I think that having 2's in supporting roles in most media is probably because 2's are seen as the helper (even most Enneagram scholars call us that), so they help the protagonist achieve their goals, while also being the supportive and loyal friend. Thank you for the video, I feel that you did us justice :)

Yes, I agree about Mr Rodgers. He’s too people focused to be a 9. As a 9, I’m an introvert that can fake extrovert quite well, but of course, people aren’t my focus in general. Unless someone interests me, I’m not particularly interested in more than a superficial connection, though I like my interactions to be agreeable.

❤ Awe, that's great. What is it you enjoy about being a 2? I am doing research on this topic. Can I interview you and ask how knowing about Enneagram changed your life? ❤

Such a great series! And I can very well researched. I'm a type 9, but I initially mistyped myself as type 2. There are subtle differences, because the two can look similar on the outside and take many of the same actions, but their inner motivations are different.
