As for the guy with the sister.. yeah I have to side with the fiance on this one. The sister has issues only a doctor can fix but is taking no steps to do any of it herself and has become so dependant on you that she'll never actually try to do anything for herself unless you force her into a situation where she has no choice. It's hard, but you need to get her into an institution or some place that can actually help her.

Story 2: The issue is, many places do not have adequate services for people with mental illnesses and there are long wait lists to get help. The part of waiting forever in the emergency room is so common where I live. People can be waiting for days in a room with nothing but the gown they are given, a pillow and blanket, as everything is taken away due to safety, such as their wallet, phone, belts, shoes, etc. They would be waiting for a bed in the psych ward to open up and to see a mental health specialist. Often people won't go because of the lack of services. Where I live, we have very little services available and the case managers at the local community mental health centers are overworked and do not stay long. Even at the psychiatrics hospitals, there aren't enough beds available or funding to get more services. People truly have no idea how hard it is to get help until they or someone they love are in need of assistance. It's not uncommon for spouses, family members and friends to give up on their loved ones because of how taxing it is to care for them. They aren't obligated to if they don't have legal guardianship. Then individuals are left homeless trying to get help but pushed aside. It's a really bad situation here all around.

I agree i get it kinda jumped onto her. However in some area it does take longer for mental treatment due to underfunding from government sadly. Sorry, as long as you have a deep relationship with the family member the partner needs to understand that they will take priority at times. Especially when it comes to wellbeing like you have stronger ties with them so you want them to live long.

I mean, he needs to decide whether he wants to spend all his time being his sister's keeper. The GF obviously doesn't want to be. She has no reason to sign on to potentially a life of emotional and probably financial support. Sad things ended up that way.

Story 2: I lived with someone who had similar delusions, we weren’t related, we shared a dorm. Me and about 6 other people kept trying to get her help because the situation kept getting worse and worse. Towards the end she tried hurting us, purposefully. She tried lighting fires in the middle of the night and leaving sharp objects outside our doors. We moved on and less than 3 months later she jumped out of a balcony due to a delusion and shattered her legs and spine. Now she’s getting the therapy she needs but it sucks more we got ignored because it could’ve been so so much worse. I can’t blame the fiancé, some people need special help. Idk if they brought it up to the op before but maybe it was the last straw

Story 2: I can understand the OP wanting to help his sister but he seriously didn't take his wife's feelings into account and are trying to do this balancing thing which shouldn't be his responsibility to begin with. Like he had all these options and family members that sounded like would be glad to help. His problem is that he tried taking in all this responsibility onto himself and in a way dragged his wife into this mess.

If OP really truly wants to help his sister, he needs to check her into a mental health hospital. Where the doctors are specifically trained to treat patients with that exact condition. There is nothing OP can do to be of any kind of actual help, besides house her, feed her and make sure she's clean. It's truly admirable that he wants to help don't get me wrong, but he's not even putting a bandaid on a broken bone.

It sounds like they are doing everything they can but there are wait lists for services. In my area, there isn't a lot of help and long waits due to lack of funding. It can take years before someone can get assistance for long term. If you go to the hospitals here where I live, you could be waiting days to see someone and for a bed to open up. It's a really bad situation here. It can be extremely taxing on their loved ones who are trying to help. Unless they have legal guardianship, they aren't required to help but they don't want to see them homeless and in a worse situation. The OP is a good person and I understand where he is coming from.

That’s easier said then done, and trust me they are at the bandaid stage as all they can do is manage her symptoms and keep her safe. I’ve a disabled child that should be in a facility because I can’t give him the care he needs and no one in the family wants to be involved. It’s been an absolute nightmare, a year and a half into getting him aid and all I’ve got for him is Social Security (SSI), Medicaid, and IEP for school he can no longer attend. Care facilities are extremely expensive. Where I am they are privately owned and ran, meaning they are not part of any government assistance program and can choose who and what they accept payments from. It also prevents them from being part many of any welfare and insurance programs. Because past histories with asylums these type of facilities have many regulations making operations hard and causing them to be very restrictive about who they who and how many they accept, and limiting how many care facilities exist for being a high risk investment. The later causes almost all to be maxed out and years long waiting lists. Then there is the need for constant testing and evaluation of the patient and their current care takers to decide a care facility is a valid option versus permanently relying on her current caregivers. There are a plethora of programs and assistance if in home care is decided, but again those have a drawn out evaluation and approval process that happens before you get the the waiting list stage. Hiring an in home nurse or assistant is also very expensive. You can get one through what ever medical or support system you use if it approves of in home care assistance, but where I am there is a shortage of nurses and home care workers through this route because they are grossly underpaid.

@@mrsg8996 I used to work for a disability and aging organization to help them with finding resources and services. You are right and that's the case where I live too. It's like that in every state but some are worse than others. People don't realize that programs and eligibility greatly varies from state to state. Just because you had services in one state, it doesn't mean you'll get it in another. Our state is one of the worst for services because we don't pay a lot of taxes like others so we have less services available and the wait lists are incredibly long.

Happy Saturday from a Seattleite transplanted and now living in Pennsylvania! Give me back my Pennsylvania weather. Lolz! I came to PA for the snow, and it was great the first year (2017). Story 1: Id like to know more about the backstory here that wasnt told.... might explain more here, but as for the main story itself; why on earth would the OP want to help the BIL here? He seems like a complete jealous and insecure knob here. He apparently has "small man" syndrome here and i wouldn't help him out at all if he's going to be a jerk. Story 2: I think the fiance is either at the end of a short rope here or is being a bit unreasonable with this ultimatum here... and i think there is also more that isnt being told here. As for the sister, she sounds like she is in serious need of professional help here, not just relying on the OP here. This seems pretty serious on her end and probably should be in a psych ward or something. This whole thing is a no-win situation. Story 3: Dump her..... NOW! If the gf and her friends are that deceitful and uncaring, then how could you possibly trust her? She cheated and constantly lied and hid the fact that she did. She isn't sorry in the slightest, she's sorry she gout caught. The gf and her friends and among the highest scumbags/cheaters that ive heard on this channel. Also, if the OP does suffer from depression, staying with this gf is only going to make it worse, knowing what she has done. Story 4: Gahaha, never thought id hear an update to the paintball game with the boss. Actually, id do the opposite of what was suggested here. I'd totally call him out. This happened outside of work at an activity together. The boss would have ZERO grounds to discipline the OP here. Story 5: Accept her breakup and move on. It doesn't seem like anything could get better, especially with the way it was handled.

Story 1: His mother doesn't want anything to do with this. OP's husband who is the guy's brother, doesn't want anything to do with this either, because he knows his brother means problems. Nobody wants anything to do with this either. SO! .... what did that guy expect? I do believe the problem is him in this case. But, i also wanna know the back story because it will light up a little why he behave like this, at least to make clear this comes from a situation where this reaction was instigated. BUT on the same light, every part of the family came clear of that situation, so, this one is up for the brother in law who can't take the L. Story 2: I agree but there is some context OP left out from the post and was cleared up in both edits and comments. Aparently, his wife burn out because this isn't the 1st time a family member he has had similar problem, and he was made responsible for that. In this case his mother. The sister also has this for at least only 2 months but been this hard as well to work with. At least his wife stick up until he told her the entire situation and plan he has. He was never meant to be her caretaker infinitely and things been worse due some institutes been really pesky with paperwork and all that sh*t before, so that is the reason why she wasn't admitted yet either. Right now they are on the process of doing that at least from the last update.

I agree but she could have went about telling him how she felt way better, Op clearly said they were trying to get her help but the process for this kinda thing is long. I think if she sat and had a calm conversation with op it wouldn't have been as stressful as blowing up at him all at once as she's having a episoded. Many people will end their lives in delusional moments like that.

I relate to the OP in story five. A month ago I gave my bestfriend an ultimatum, she ghosted me and blocked while leaving yhe groupchats we were in, it broke me and i was left with the truama to deal all by myself, a few weeks later she chatted me in one of our dead groupchats and said hi, to me specifically. I replied a bit, but when i realized she was going nowhere with her “ok”s and “hi”s. Now, I’m a tad bit over her, and i know the feeling of the OP when they said “She did it too herself.” Because like OP’s situation, if my ex-bestfriend just replied, we wouldve probably ended on good terms, or forgived and everything went back to normal. I’m honestly proud of OP for putting themselves first and left their ex. And to anyone whos experiencing the same, you are so brave for making whatever decision you did, I hope your mental and emotional health gets better and i hope you’re doing great.

Story 3 If your girlfriend is going to certain lengths to hide the truth about cheating and then begs for forgiveness when caught dump her ass. She clearly does not respect you nor value the relationship. She is only sorry that she got caught and she never even showed any remorse. She was not even sorry for what she did. Leave her sorry cheating ass. You can do much better than her. Get rid of her. I would. In fact I would confront her friend while your girlfriend is present and really go into it about how they were going to hide this in front of friends to teach them both a lesson they will never forget. because the US does not have universal health care, the sister would not be allowed into an in patient setting unless she is a danger to herself and others. It sounds like she's not dangerous, so she might get a few weeks or months under Medicare/Medicaid, but then she's be on the streets. There's no safety net for regular health care and mental health is even worse in the US. Everything was dismantled in the 80s and very little has changed since. I feel very bad for the sister. If she lived in pretty much any other industrialized nation, she would get care. It may not be the speediest, but it would be covered.

Story 2: I understand and side with her. I doubt we are getting the full story. I lived with someone who was severe paranoid schizophrenic. It can be difficult and exhausting. Sometimes if their condition gets bad enough it can be downright dangerous. One time he was under the delusion I had been replaced with an evil double and the only way to bring the original back was to kill me. At one point he believed everyone around him was a crisis actor? Only found these out because his therapist had him committed for the saftey of everyone in the house. Mostly he was a danger to himself, but scary stuff. The girlfriend is right. You really can't feed into any of it. And you have to be careful of everything you say, because they will take it in some wild ways.

*Story 2:* I would answer "You can become my ex-fiance, but she will not become my ex-family" and end it there. Presenting an ultimatum to offload or abandon his mentally unwell sister is incredibly cruel, and even if dealing with mental Illness is very stressful and financially demanding, family always comes first. I would not want to build a life with someone who would treat my family so dismissively.

And it's clear the BIL is a selfish jerk who's creeping up to his family to have a share of the inheritance. Story 2: Fiance is right here, as she didn't sign up for this. As it's clear the OP, don't understand he can't handle his mentally ill sister as the narrator said. Story 3: Dump the cheating Girlfriend as the trust is broken and the relationship will not work whatever happens. Story 4: The Boss is trying to figure out the one who did to clearly fire the one who did it, so OP should just drop it. Story 5: Dumping over text is overly rude, selfish and immature. if they did it, don't ever think to be back together even they begged, as they'll only thinking what will benefit them not the relationship itself.

Story 3: I'm a very forgiving person. IF my GF would have cheated on me once, and immediately came to me and said she regretted it, MAYBE I would forgiven her if she begged for forgiveness and promissed she would never see the guy she cheated on me with. Keyword: MAYBE! But if she hid and denied the fact for years like in that story, lol no. I would dump her right away, and wouldn't even give her the opportinity to beg for forgiveness.

story #4 The OP seems to take glee in the fact that he pummeled his boss in the head several times with a paint ball. Whether his boss is a great boss or a bad boss, what a stupid and mean thing to do. I wonder how gleeful he would be if the same was done to him. Paintball: Dude, I think you have it all wrong. Many years ago I got shot, point blank, in the back of the head with one single paint ball. It hit me right about in that little nub at the base of your skull where there is soft tissue. That shit fucking dazed me for at LEAST 15 seconds. I know that does not sound like a long time, but when in that kind of situation, shit happens really fast. I had to be carried off the "battlefield" by some friends and the ass-hat that did it totally got away with it for the aforementioned reasons. No, this was not the same situation, unless it happened in the late 80's and they were all still in High School. I simply wanted to point out that your assumptions about the impact of head trauma are absolutely off.

Guy with the sick sister, if your fiance is making you choose that give her the boot. It just shows you that if things got hard she would think of leaving because she didn't sign up for that. I married my wife her mom had a stroke and now our lives revolve around helping to take care of her. I didn't sign up for that, but I could never think of making my wife chose between helping her mom or me. Life isn't easy, life is doesn't always go how we think or hope, if she really loved you she would NEVER make you choose.

For better or worse is in the vows, if someone presented me an ultimatum of choosing them or my mentally ill sister I'd throw their belongings out the window and send them off with a peppy wave, now if someone were to present this as an issue in a call rational healthy matter then we would talk and come up with a solution but the ultimatum is. To the story with the boss. Admitting to hits isn't just important in paintball, it's probably more important in airsoft. In airsoft there is no way to prove a hit without a video or a referee close enough to see it. The boss is a jerk. Good decision on the part of the OP to repeatedly headshot, maybe the boss will learn to admit to hits next time.

Leave her. If you feel like you're being cheated on, odds are that is the case. Even if it's not it might be healthier for you in the long run to leave the relationship. But if you want assurance first then gather any kind of proof you can and present it to her as your reason for leaving.

@@tanandalynch9441 she randomly stopped talking this new year, i had a feeling it involves other guy but took it cool, after a week of less contact she said she doesn't feel worthy for me or she needs improvement,i didn't buy it and forced her to tell me why so suddenly,she said nothing but after some time said a guy at work proposed her and he's intelligent and other girls want him too but i only want u bla bla, i was angry then she said she was testing me to see what would I do if she cut contact and according to her i don't show much attention as other boys do to her, her lines "if u won't give me enough attention the it's obvious I'll go to another man", when i said cut contact with the guy who proposed she said"he helps me in work, evey girl wants him,i can't just cut contact", when she forced me to block the girl who was madly attracted to me online. I was showing her pics to my grandma the night Before this started for marriage (i also told her this) Now she says she wants to stay with me and improve herself to stop talking to other boys who give her attention and I'm still not sure what to do

I kind of agree, but disagree at the same time, you have to be careful with institutions. Sometimes, depending on the specific city when you enter a person into a mental institution, it is very hard or almost impossible to get them out. The last thing you want is the sister to be locked up in there for the rest of her life. I’m not saying that she couldn’t use a few months or a year of treatment in the institution. But I will say that sometimes you really don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. If you are going to institutionalized her, make sure the institution is good and do your research before you just throw her in any mental institution. I also think that it was unfair for the fiancé to make a big fuss, but I understand her perspective.

the OP in the second story is not a jerk, the fiance is, as the narrator has mentioned many times in other videos, a when your partner gives an ultimatum, the relationship has ended, and i get that the fiance is tired of this hassle, but she is asking the OP to give up his sister who is mentally ill, people dont know how hard it is when they have to give up a family member who is not in good condition, it is hard, very very hard and if anything goes wrong they will blame themselves for the rest of their lives, and yes the sister does need professional help, but asking the OP to completely give her up, thats not fair towards the OP at all, so imo the fiance is the biggest jerk here

Family comes first and even though she's been with him for 4 years they aren't engaged yet and she apparently needs to do some research on mental health. Even if the sister went to a mental health facility are they just going to abandon her there? Giving the ultimatum instead of talking out how she felt first is a HUGE red flag. I would seriously wonder if picking this person would set a precedence for future conflicts?

In the second story the OP is most assuredly is *NOT* the arsehole. As is the commenter who thinks that the OP is the arsehole. The OP's sister has legitimate mental health issues that she has no control over. Und sadly not every mental health issue responds positively to treatment. Normally I would agree with the wife/husband should come first. But in this case the OP needs to put his sister ahead of his fiancée.
