Like you said in the video “It’s still shaving” why wouldn’t you do a 3 pass. And, you caught yourself on the pressure thing. Treat it just as you would any other razor. Great shave, Bary. I appreciate how Feather caters to all styles of shaving. From their premium AS-D2 safety razor, excellent razor btw, to their Artist Club premium shavettes and Kamisori style razors and disposable cartridge razors. They even take the cartridge razor to a premium level with their Butler razor. Looking forward to more from this series!

I must have missed this first episode of "For Science", never mind I'm watching it now. Interesting cart design from Feather. Like you demonstrated in this shave when I do use a cart (which is not often these days) I use it like a DE with my full Wet shaving process and 3 passes with as lightest pressure as I can, which like you said is not so easy with a cart (old muscle memories) and I generally get good shaves. "For Science" suggestion: mix some soaps together, maybe two low priced/quality ones and does it improve the lather? Take care Barry👌😎👌

It looks like a pretty high tech cartridge but when I left cartridge I swore I’d never go back 😂 My biggest reason to leave was first plastic waste but I also love nostalgia and was always intrigued by DE razors. I like the narration in this video. It allows you to just do your shave and then really look at what you did and comment.

Thank you sir. I feel the same way about cartridge razors. I couldn't go back. But IF I had to. This razor gives the closest thing to the finished product of a DE shave. I use it "For Science" so you don't have to.

Very cool! I’d love to see some comparisons between vintage and contemporary injector razors, I think it would be interesting to see if the performance has changed significantly over the last 70’years

Hello Bary, there is still a place for cartridge razors in certain situations. I experienced the "hell" of shaving with a BIC single blade and regular soap during the army basic training. Under two minutes for a shave was the other extreme to my shaves now and I enjoy it so much more. Nice shaving towel with a vintage vibe - ikea offers similar Hildegun tea towels for cheap.

Oh man that would be shaving "hell". Thank you for your service sir. Wet shaving is my therapy as i have said before. All aspects of it. Scents, gear, process and ritual. With that said, you are correct. There is a place for this razor and especially with the performance it gives. Was strange to experience a cartridge razor with a "learning curve" lol. I love my Protex green stripe barber towels. great value and a great towel. You can get a dozen of them for under $20. Sometimes under $10.

barry the handle looks like a gear shift, it seems intuitive by the size they expect you to use a fair amount of pressure with it like most cartridges. I would have made the exact same mistake

Yeah I have to say the handle design is one of the best. i do see the resemblance lol. It was so "natural" to use pressure, but i am glad I fgigured it out so i could see what this cart razor could really do. Every bit a Feather product.

Great vid, I do like the shave den with the mic and shave supplies in the back and I think you'd have a nice setup in there to watch. Some general ideas even though they've been done I wouldn't mind seeing, maybe doing a bowl lather on one side and face lather on the other to compare? For an adjustable razor some people start with aggressive then dial it down with each pass, some people start with less aggressive and dual it up, a comparison on that would be cool. A soap battle tallow vs non tallow comparison but has to be same company to make it fair would be nice too. This one is bold one, I read some people on reddit go immediately against the grain and just skip with and across.... 👀👀

Hey Bary, great Shave. Seeing how it is a Feather I am definitely curious to see how many shaves you get before it loses its edge. Maybe Feather will put out a low number to get more sales, but I wonder if you could ever find what their testing labs achieved before they deemed a Feather cartridge is done. You know what I mean? It might be a razor you keep around for a quick touch up or precision edging. Love the Bloopers too.😊👊

First off, THANK YOU FOR WATCHING TIL THE END! lol I wondered if anyone would see the bloopers! I am defining a shave as this. 1 shave to be my face, my head is another. So I have shaved 5 times on this 1st cart. 3 head and 2 face. I am keeping track and will update. That is a great idea about Feathers testing. I will see what I can find out! I am looking forward to seeing your straight razor shave. Just remember to be very mindful of your pressure. If you feel that you need to add more force to cut the hair; Stop!! Your blades is not sharp enough or you are going against a tougher area that needs to be cut in a different direction. Or do not whip your arm around your face. It is not a race, but if you do, it could be a race to the hospital. Slow and deliberate is best. Best regards.

For my head i use the "skull shaver pitbull silver pro" its 90$ expensive for science but if you want to come over one weekend can try it out maybe.

It looks really nice. While it is not for me, it might work for someone else. I'm thinking of sending one to my father since he is afraid of DEs. For ideas you could try thing that could work as a soap replacement. For example, most of my life, I shaved with hair conditioner without problems. Also, just plain water, although I wouldn't do it now. Could try Olive oil or any food grade oil, mayonnaise, or whatever you think is sleek and wont harm your skin

I would like to see things most shave channels don’t show like cheap canned foams, shave sticks, even bars of soap as a lather like our grandads use to use etc. to really see if our artesian soaps are far superior or if we use that as an excuse to keep buying them

Maybe it's where I'm at but sometimes I wonder if I went too far down the rabbit hole. Had I see this razor when I was first thinking about a DE razor from the looks of the two videos I've seen of it I would have gotten it, kept down the soap rabbit hole, and not been so worried why I my face looks so chewed up lately after a shave. The only reason I haven't given up is stubborn pride at the cost of razors and blades I've spent. It honestly looks like 'the perfect cartridge'...if there is such a thing. If anything it might get the original Trac II a run for its money.

Its a really good cart. I still do not think it beats a DE and is definitely not eco friendly. A DE has better cost on blades still. But I get it. I thought the same as I was using it.
