And I want to say that you are not a failure: You got through cooking school--a grueling thing--all those jobs, all those relationships, all those moves, losing your home, leaving your bakery, starting this YT channel--which has over 200K subs, not a small thing--to say nothing of your early childhood existential bafflement (I can relate), and have become a better, more dynamic person from it all. Dear Gretchen, I am sorry that DOOFUS maliciously told you that you were a failure…you are DEFINITELY NOT!!! I must say that it is hard listening to your story (both the business and relationship stuff), as it is a difficult time you have been through, but the thing that I find amazing and that keeps me listening, is that you are so positive through it all. You deserve the goodness and love that you have…I mean, we all deserve our best life, don’t we?! Good for you for finding it and keeping it.❤ As to the backyard chickens, from what I understand, and maybe you do too, now, is that although you may give them a good life, taking eggs from them is not natural, for them or you. Chickens would normally lay only 12 eggs per year, and they would sometimes eat the unfertilized eggs for their own nourishment (to gain the vitamins and nutrients they need to be healthy). When eggs are removed, for a human to eat them, the chicken will lay another egg to compensate for the missing egg. This will continue to happen, a new egg laid for the missing egg. This is where the unnatural part comes in. The chicken is not built to lay all these extra eggs and therefore stress is put on their bodies when they do. Besides the fact that eggs are full of cholesterol and are one of the most acidic foods (where our bodies want alkaline foods), eggs are not laid for us, just as a cow does not produce milk for us. I hope that I explained it well enough. I don’t want to preach to a vegan, who is already sympathetic to animals’ welfare but, I guess we are all constantly learning new things in our journeys, and maybe this is something new for you and others to know. So happy that you and Frank found each other. And, thanks for the advice on gratitude journalling. I would like to be more grateful every day.❤❤
