Always great to see another controlled access highway in Canada. I wouldn't have thought there would have been enough traffic in the late 50s to build it in that area. I guess I'm wrong. Thanks for the video!
I think Halifax went through a little highway craze phase back in the day. In the 70s, Barrington St. was planned to be upgraded to a full 4-lane highway to provide access to downtown as many north american cities were doing. 2 Y-Interchanges were built but the highway was never built. There are now plans to tear down those 2 interchanges and replace them with a boulevard.
NS 102 is only 100KM not 102KM as per wiki. The KM marker in Truro at the exit is 100KM It's label the Bi-Hi since it was NS bi-Centennial when the Fall River to Halifax section opened.
It was. But then again, I went to Canada's only military private boarding school when I was a teenager. Doing 60+ kilometre route marches in three days was no problem for me then.
