After finishing up some boat projects and fighting a losing battle with our outboard, we say goodbye to Annapolis, our home for the past few weeks. We hoist our sails, and Seawind begins making way south towards Solomon Island. Half way through the day, we mysteriously start taking on water and have to figure out where it's coming from while underway.

Guys I'm new to this channel, no kidding two years behind. But I'm no stranger to RU-vid and asking people to financially support you with so little content is, lets face it, ballsy.

"Earth After Warming", you mean like it was in the 1500's? Like when folks were comfortable in those stone castles, and like when they could grow wine grapes in England, which, due to the cold, they still don't do well. Hold onto your shorts cuz' it's gonna get a lot warmer, like it was in the 1400s and 1500s. Same temperature patterns on Mars. Oh, and no cow farts or SUVs on Mars. Love ur videos. Sweet people

Enjoying your videos. Your channel’s off to a great start, keep it going. One suggestion … the reversed video clips are a little distracting. I think you’ve got an iPhone: Settings->Camera->Mirror Front Photos->OFF. Hope you’re enjoying the Bahamas now. ☀️😎

Thanks, Phil! And THANK YOU for that suggestion! I had no clue that setting was on. Just turned it off 😎 Glad you're enjoying the videos!

Hmmm "Life After Warming" Like after the Ice Age?
@SailingSeawind
@SailingSeawind 2 года назад
I believe it is in reference to global warming from carbon emissions etc.!
@rahnlawson9463

@@SailingSeawind Were there carbon emissions during the Ice Age or does global temperature rely on the relationship between the sun and Earth's orbit?

A very wise person (my wife) explained intro/extrovert to me: when you need to recharge where do you go? Extrovert seeks people, introvert needs to be alone. Katy- at the beginning of the video when you wanted alone time I saw my wife through and through. Parker, you’ll never understand it. So don’t try. Just hug her. Now that MH counseling is over, your videos are inspiring. A boat is constant problems and work and you just have to keep plowing through. Which you’re doing. I’m redoing my boat almost same way (rotted decks, making improvements, building hard Dodger) and I watch your work intently. My anchor locker drains did the same thing. I epoxied over them. But I like the scuppers you out on them. Never thought about that. And yes, I’d put another seasick on the sink drain. Even that doesn’t seam right. Also, can you glass SS 3” tubes to your cockpit floor straight out the stern to maybe take some cockpit water out so you don’t have to rely on the scupper/ through hull? That way, if you have to close it off, you have another way to get water out of the cockpit.

Thank you so much for those words! Katy and I try to always have an open line of communication about each others needs. Since being together and more specifically since living on the boat, we learn new things about each other every single day. We've learned (especially me) compassion on a whole new level. You are spot on with what you said about extroversion/introversion. It has been a journey of growth to say the least :) That sounds like an awesome project! What kind of boat is it? The covers over the anchor locker holes have worked beautifully though, I might be redesigning the anchor locker door a bit to incorporate a gasket. As for the sink drain. I really don't know why Allied designed it the way they did. So many safety issues! I think a seacock under the sink is the way I'm going to go with it. I was thinking about a gray water sump with a pump to pump the sink water overboard but that's a more complicated system/install with its own cons. I have also thought about fiberglass exhaust tubes installed like you say to bail some water as well.

Well done! I came for the sailing, but stayed for the cooking. Can't put a "tee" in a cockpit drain, gonna need a dedicated thru-hull for that sink. I put a "tee" in my saltwater engine intake though, so I can backflow a freshwater flush or a 15min winterization with the pink stuff. Where are you now?
@SailingSeawind
@SailingSeawind 2 года назад
Glad you liked all of it! Yes I will be installing a dedicated thru hull for it during the next haul out. Great idea about the tee in the intake for winterizing. We are currently in The Bahamas!

Since there’s not many comments there’s a greater chance you’ll see this. Any chance you could do some build videos. Personally, I would love to see the dodger build.

It's on the list! I have footage stored of it and should be able to put together a pretty good video hopefully in the near future
