Oil change pump: an electric, all fuel, fuel pump, 2 lengths of plastic hose, straight copper 1/4 inch tubing to reach down the dipstick hole to the bottom. Wire and alligator clip. Clamp to battery or starter and ground. Been using mine for 30 years. Fair winds

Balance is hard to get and easily lost , rhythm is easier to keep and maintain !

very cool. Annapolis is special, I suspect even more so arriving, living and departing on a sailboat.

It was very special! We were glad to have been there by car one other time because comparing how it felt then to now was really interesting! Very grateful!

Just found your channel last weekend, and I’m now caught up to date. Good chance you could meet up with Jordan & Desiree (Project Atticus) in the Caribbean. You can compare notes on fixing up Allied Seawinds.

Glad you're enjoying the videos! We met up with them in Annapolis and got to know them! We've been chatting on social media for years about our Seawind's. Their new Pacific Seacraft 40 is beautiful!!

@@SailingSeawind I figured there was a good chance you knew them, or at least knew OF them. That hard dodger looked pretty familiar (lol). You’re off to a great start.

Yes their hard dodger did spark my interest in building one! Them and Free Range Sailing, another of my favorite RU-vid channels! Thank you :)

@@SailingSeawind Yes! Free Range Sailing had a nicely-detailed hard dodger fabrication episode. I'm planning to model mine after Troy's. Speaking of Troy, I live at the end of the Erie Canal in Troy, NY and I enjoyed watching your passage through it, idyllic. I'm refitting my 1976 34' Bristol centerboard sloop just south of Albany on the Hudson, and hopefully will be following in your wake later this year. Loving the vids and looking forward to catching up to your present.

can you tell us how you made the dodger. looking to make one over the winter for my 44 year old boat. especially how you made the flange on the bottom to connect to the boat.

Hey Gary! I am going to be making a video about building the dodger sometime in the near future. I'm really excited to share the process with everyone! As for your question, the inward facing flange is the first thing I built. I used heavy duty packing tape as a mold release, laying strips of tape on the cabin top in the general shape I wanted the dodger to be. I laid up strips of fiberglass on the tape over the packing tape. This method allowed me to register all of the cabin top features very accurately. After that cured I built the 5 windshield pieces out of foam, gluing them to the fiberglass flange on the deck. After I had built a structure strong enough to hold its own shape with bracing, I popped the dodger off of the packing tape. It worked very well!

@@SailingSeawind thanks for the info. I did wonder if that is how you did it. My problem is my hatch slides right forward through where I want my Dodger. Thinking of some how packing off the hatch then making the Frame so when it pops off there will be a gap for the hatch say 5mm. Happy sailing

The problem with young people like you two is that they are hungry all the time and spend their lives eating. The problem with an old timer like me is that if I look at a strawberry (and I'm not talking about smelling it), I take 3 pounds. Life is unfair.
