On this episode of the Dr. Tyna Show, I'm going to be diving into a few of the blatant and bold untruths that are currently going around about Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and other GLP-1 agonists. These are coming from a few accounts online, and today, I will be putting them to rest, because what they are spewing, is factually incorrect.

I'm on it (in Germany). My hba1c went from 7.2 to 6.5 and now is at 5.8. I lost 55lbs. I started at 0.25 for 2 months, than 0.5 for another 2 months and for the last 6 months I have been on 1.0. But not only are my blood sugar levels better. I started to enjoy walking, and I applied for a gym membership. I'm a 6'1 dude that was too ashamed to show himself for the last decade of my life. I'm now more active, I walk more and actually went to the beach again after more than a decade. This medication has been life changing for me. Also since I'm diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, even though at the moment I'm not having any symptoms with an hba1c at 5.9, I will get it on my insurance for the rest of my life or more likely I will get it until there is something better. I am not depressed, I still feel euphoric about the good things in life, just not food. In fact it's the opposite, now that I feel presentable, I actually enjoy meeting with friends a lot more than I did before. It didn't do anything for alcohol or nicotine for me, but I don't drink or smoke much, I was and am still more of a party drinker/smoker and didn't drink or smoke at home anyway. It was never that kind of addiction for me and more of a mood enhancer at parties.

As a critical care nurse who worked the entire pandemic, 99% of the people I saw in our critical care unit were overweight and of that 99%, at least 75% of them were morbidly obese. That's not being fat phobic, that's just stating reality. And the biggest disservice that this country did during that time was not come out and say that obesity was the number one risk factor with fatal outcomes

I found you on Dr. Hyman's show with Callie Means. I was so excited when I heard you speak. I have a local doctor on the east coast does something similar to what your approach is. Compound trizepetide at low doses. I was never sick one time on her protocol. All along she has been telling me I'm on a small dose compared to the prescription regimen. Why is big pharma dosing people so high?

Probably because the emphasis is on big results to show efficacy with a very specific group of people (diabetics and morbidly obese people). The dosage schedule was for maxing weight loss while keeping symptoms manageable for the most people in those groups. A lot of doctors say stay on the lowest doses as long as possible.

Thank you for confirming how serious T2D is and talking about taking it seriously. My doctor was serious about it, I was scared out of my mind, and yet so many people I told seemed to just brush it off like it’s nothing! I’m 37, I have a 3yo. I need to be alive for as long as possible. Getting the diagnosis has been the terrifying fire I needed to make serious long term changes to my life. Ozempic, nutritionist, and monthly follow ups with my doctor until I can heal some of these issues and make real life long changes. Your content has been really great for me starting this journey. I’m prioritizing protien, walking everyday, and adding strength training next month when I hopefully have a little more stamina for exercise and less overall pain in my body. Getting healthy is hard, but so is life the way I’ve been living.

No one's gonna like this. I think there's a large group of people who feel superior because they are thin, and I think they feel threatened at everyone having a level playground. I know how this sounds, but think about it. How much of our time and energy is given to weight loss and food issues? Can you imagine not having to deal with the 'food voices' or whatever you wish to call it? I can't. My day is filled with "I shouldn't have ate that" "Will anyone notice if I go for seconds" "I'll eat this in the car, laundry room, after everyone goes to bed", etc. There is a lot of time, energy, and money wasted because of obesity.

So I'm not promoting smoking and I am not a smoker. However, I can tell you that my observations over my 40 years on earth, I have noticed something, especially in my own family. We have a lot of overweight and diabetic people in my family. They are relatively healthy and in good shape until their mid forties. By 50, they are severely overweight and diabetic. It happens that fast. It's almost predictable. The skinnies in the family are the smokers. The smokers way outlive the heavy ones. The heavy ones all die in their 60's. The smokers live i to their late 70's. It's wild. I have noticed that so long as the smokers stay very thin, they seem to avoid all disease until the very end when they suddenly get cancer that takes them quickly. The longest lived people, into 80's and 90's, are the non-smokers who worked hard on the farm, maintained muscle and maintained a fit and trim figure. Fat is truly the biggest issue with disease, in my opinion. Again, smoking is not the ideal way to stay slim. Just pointing out that staying slim is a huge benefit to staving off the diseases of stroke, diabetes, heart attack and cancer.

What a relief to hear positive and CORRECT advice about a medication that worked wonders for me. Unfortunately I had to stop due to the shortage of the product and regained most of the weight because I now know I was advised incorrectly by my doctor. As soon as I am able to get Ozempic in South Africa again, I will do it right! I felt so much healthier on Ozempic and finally understand the holistic approach! Thank you so much for putting it all in perspective - it may save my life!
