I've not come across a 138 before, seen plenty of 148gtl without the FM but this one must have eluded me some how. Nice box though!

I have a cobra 138XLR I have owned it years lovely radio maybe Mr micro chips will be asked if he could do some of his modifications a very nice radio

Not sure it's the same pin you suspected to be giving grief, but at 6:55 the top left contact in the relay socket looks really dodgy!

Well spotted , it does look crusty , and it looks like the pin that was causing trouble. Maybe the act of removing the relay and putting it back sorted the issue .I haven't had any feedback from the cust saying its faulty again .
