I think he has issues with feeling safe around people. He withdraws when he thinks he's being played or scammed. Desperately wants recognition and acceptance from the Kiss band members like Gene. I think if Gene would take the time to connect with Vinnie, it would help him big time. I'm nobody special, but had a good friend who got really depressed and turned into, more or less, a zombie. I took the time to talk with him and let him hash out what was going on. Helped and encouraged him to fight for enjoying his life again. That was 10 years ago and he is doing great now. We all need help sometimes in life.
The music business is a shark tank, everybody will rip you off every step of the way. Black Sabbath sold millions of records and never made any money while the people around them all had mansions and luxury cars payed for with the money they ripped off from Black Sabbath. The album Sabotage is about the music business. Same thing happened to Bad finger and Vinnie.

u should've asked him why is it so hard for him to put a band together and put out an album. since according to him is always recording. where are the albums?
Great interview! I'm grad you got the opportunity to put this together. Always nice when a real fan gets to interview someone they have been a fan of for so long.
It's so apparent that Vinnie treasures (no pun intended) his time with KISS and has such fondness for it, it's such a shame that Paul and Doc can't come to some sort of agreement to let him be involved in this last hurrah....
You are a fucking idiot, Vinnie is the problem when it comes to agreeing to anything, he is his own worst enemy, do you think it is a coincidence that nobody wants any part of him?
@@venom-dq4rb never said he wasn't difficult to deal with, nor am I denying his self sabotaging impulses. Just saying it's too bad he can't be a part of KISS' goodbye. He's still a very integral part of KISStory. Go Fuck Yourself
It's nice to see Vinnie happy, relaxed, and joking around like a regular guy. I couldn't make it to his party but thought it was a cool idea and wish I could have gone. I feel confident now that he can continue the momentum.
Hi Mike! Kev here from Dunedin, New Zealand...thanks so much for this amazing video!!! Excellent stuff!! Thank you so much Vinnie and you too Mike. Merry Christmas!
@Tod Shinerod your right Karl Malden is a superb interviewer. Ya know, he got those skills from his years of acting. No, but I was trying to figure out who he resembled with that nose and it is spot on. !
That would be awesome especially if they have Eric carr playing along on screen or something, but Vinnie at least should be acknowledged even if it's only on that one last song
Mike does a great job at sharing his Rock and Roll Experiences for us that couldn't take part. It's a really great and selfless thing to do. Some people don't like it but I'm one of those people that films concerts and enjoys watching filmed shows, especially Mike's videos. If we have the technology, why not use it! That would be like somebody saying "Stop texting and just mail letters!" Foolish.
Thanks! My rule (when I’m at a concert) is I only hold my phone chest high. (A) I don’t want to block others view. (B) I don’t want to watch part of the show through a phone. Glad you enjoy my videos!!
I've always thought that Vinnie, was a phenomenal musician. I'm happy for him. He's living life and playing music. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. Good for you, Vinnie...keep rockin' my friend. 🤘🎸🤘🎸
MetalLion 07 He wasn’t that good compared to guys like Paul Gilbert or Nuno Bettencourt. Poor technique and only fast playi...eh...grating is a better word.
As nice as that sounds, that's kind of pointless to say. He was in the band and making killer tunes but no one gave a shit. It wasn't until they took their makeup off that people started paying attention again. Taking the makeup off saved them and got them attention again. But to say they were relevant again is a bit of a stretch. As they were followers. Not leaders. They were lumped in with all the other 80s hair metal bands. When you think of that music and decade, Kiss isn't one of the bands often mentioned. To be honest, the reunion in 1996 is what really saved kiss. They were reduced to clubs and struggling until then. It wasn't until alive worldwide when the world finally give a damn about them again.
@Keith-Vinnie was a great songwriter and the songs he brought to Kiss are among the best songs from the 80's version of Kiss. As a songwriter Vinnie was outstanding and he helped extend the career of Kiss. Too bad he was unable to remain in the band for many, many years.
Ha' ha' your being funny ..how clever 'LoL' He basically wants everyone to feel sorry for him while small groups of fans pay to upgrade his life style and at the same time finance any future projects he may or not do. I bet he spends most of his time thinking or scheming of ways to capitalize off his fans. I don't find Vinnie to be genuine or sincere. He knew it was now or never. With "KISS" doing there EOTR Tour this was his last chance to cash in and take full advantage of any fans he may have left from either "KISS" or "The VV INVASION" and perhaps he may have found a way? Just think ..if he does 4 events like this every year mixing it up he may do quite well financially along with his over priced merchandise.
This was amazing! Mike did a great job on helping Vinnie be himself in a public setting. I hope this video and some of your others will help shut down the critics of Vinnie, because they obviously have no clue what they've been talking about. Long Live Vinnie! And I can't wait to see what's coming next from him. Mike in Tampa
i'm waiting for that footage(as patiently as possible) it is nice to hear Vinnie speak but Vinnie had fans because of how he played guitar. i hope someone shows footage of him "shredding" from this $500 event
There is NO playing footage from the event, according to Mike. Vinnie would not allow it. If you want to see the show you have to go to the show. That's like a friend inviting you to the movies and you say Naaa, just film it for me. Marketing!
@@thesundog8833 its really not like that, its like a friend inviting you to an old movie that for some reason thinks its worth 500 dollars, and you dont even know if the film will play
@@thesundog8833 that is just ridiculous. Vinnie is a nobody. he has Kiss fans from a time when he was in Kiss decades ago. the guy is literally starting from the bottom and he wants to charge fans $500. prices that are charged by bands that sell out arenas/stadiums, have many hit songs on the radio, etc..Vinnie has none of that yet he wants to rip off fans with insane prices. UNREAL! the guy has a lot of nerve. this is 2019 where video access is common. not like the 80's when bootleg concerts were much more difficult. you see where i'm going here
@@samhariss6711 good point, really buyer beware since he won't advertise the product he is selling. And he even said it's like when he was a kid and people would come over and he'd basically make them watch him play. 🤷🏿♂️ But he has to do things like that for people to come see what he's all about. He's selling a box of mystery for a lot of money really.
I just have a feeling that he can’t play anymore his chops are probably completely gone this is what I suspect. If this was Yngwie Malmsteen being interviewed he’d be sitting there w a strat on his lap noodling shredding and doing arpeggios the whole time he was answering questions I guarantee you
I don’t understand why? This guy “VV” can’t get his act together and just be happy that he is not forgotten…. Just be thankful and kind to your core fans ❤
When this interview first starts, Vinnie looks like he doesn’t know where he is. Why is he wearing the make up. Is he trying to cash in on his past or mage. Having said that, there’s no doubting his talent not only as a guitarist but most definitely a songwriter.
Talentet guitar player...........let's say it's a matter of taste, talented song writer.......Absolutely, KISS should have kept him as an outside songwriter.
I wish the audio was better on this. It was hard to hear in parts and at times when I cranked the music up, there were some heavy bass tones playing in the background that interfered with being able to her the audio. Cool to see and hear...
I wish the audio was better as well. The original audio was compromised and I had to use a backup audio track we recorded. I’m glad I had the backup audio track.
I think the autographed pics on his website are too expensive, but fuck it! Still love Vinnie! We're only here for a couple off years man! Let's have fun with the time that has been given to us! Great interview! Good he's still here! 🤘✌❤
Definitely agree about the pricing on the site. Vinnie was at a couple of horror conventions I went to last year and was selling the same pics there for $50. And at least you actually got to meet him as you got them signed as well.
@@mdsmithcomics They were $50 on his website as well, a year ago! But i guess all the people that sell those autographed pics on Ebay later on, are also to blame, who knows. I think its a bit weird. Cheerz mate.
Wait, this was just done in Dec 2019? In Vinnie's *ankh* makeup? I smell a lawsuit comin' like a train on the tracks... and Gene and Paul are driving the engine...
@@leroyhung4737-- Of COURSE he does. They own it! And if he wants to make money by wearing it, he's got to pay them licensing fees. But being Vinnie, he's just being his usual asshat self and wearing it illegally, until KISS send him a cease and desist edict. Or take further legal action. The man's a psychological, sociological, musical and legal HOT MESS.
Gene and Paul won't do anything legal about it for two reasons: 1 - It isn't hurting the KISS brand, it isn't like Ace or Peters makup. They haven't used or wanted to use his makeup since the Lick It Up days. 2 - Vinnie has nothing, you can't get blood from a turnip. It would cost them more in time and money than they could ever get back from Vinnie because he doesn't have it and never will. Except for a handful of core fans everyone knows his game and to stay away from him. I'm actually surprised he's still got 65 people willing to see him but that won't last forever either, he never changes and eventually they'll all see it.
Vinnie promised those who back-ordered his box set that each person would receive 2 copies. We'll see if he makes good on his promises or continues bullshitting everyone.
My question is - Will Vinnie EVER release His Signature Double Flying V guitar out to fans who really want one of the Double V Guitars???? Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Joe Bonamassa, all have signature model guitars. Fans would LOVE to have a Vinnie Vincent Signature Model Double V guitar.
He should treasure those last 50 fans, 3 of these events a year and he could get by. But how many times can he go to the well with these? Still think he is going to have to put a band together and get out and play at some point..
Between selling his plasma, mowing Mark Slaughter's lawn, having bake sales and signing autographs with the likes of Eddie Munster, he's probably able to eke out a living. But if all else fails, he can still buy a pile of guitar picks, tell his fans he used each one on the Creatures tour and sell them for a grand apiece to anyone dumb enough to buy them.
@Abe Froman Hailing from Belfast myself (many moons ago) I can hear a definite NI twang in there. That said, there's a lot of Ulster-Scots in the US East Coast speak.
I’ve lived in the NYC area my entire life. I’ve had many people over the years tell me I sound like I come from Boston. I don’t hear it, but so many people who don’t know each other have said it to me over the years so something must be there....lol
100% agree. Unfortunately there was no other mic available (in a studio!?!?) and no small mic stand. Go figure. I tried for about 15 min but didn’t want to keep Vinnie and the group waiting any longer. But I agree.
If by a small chance Vinnie reads these. Vinnie This is the way we like to see you . Outgoing , honest and you dont look like a scared mouse.. If you want to keep building your fan base and start winning over some of the fans that are rude to you.. Seriously do a video with a honest not overacted apo;ogy the fams need something cause they feel you lied to them and stole from them ... I know you can say you didnt do any of that but...... They are the ones that are gonna make these last 20 or more years go by fun and memorable.. Ive always admired you and you honestly seemed like a very honest and nice person th first time i met you in Denver for the Kiss Lick it up tour... Amyways your going in the right direction
I hate to be a pessimist, but I agree. Seems like he could get more orders and it would be a lot more believable if it was cut down to 1/5 of that number. Why not do a 2, 3, or 4 cd set? Try that out as a "Volume 1".
I watched this entire video and I genuinely feel bad for the people that went to this. They seriously seem brainwashed and will believe anything Vinnie says. I am legitimately not a Vinnie hater like a lot of other people, but for anyone to think this is anything more than a cash-grab is delusional.
Thanks for watching. I agree this type of event is not for everyone. Saying that, it’s (IMO) a much better value than most M&Gs which usually last 2-5 minutes and could cost as much or more. In any case, I respect your point of view. Thanks again for watching!
It's an incredibly limited market, based on decades of fandom. As far as I know, no-one was promised something that wasn't delivered. If you could get this sort of deal with one of your musical Idols, do you think it would be outrageous to pay this price for a ticket? I'd suggest the value proposition for these fans was off the scale, in their favour.
Vinnie, If you and Jeff Scott Soto are going to do rehearsals, you might as well do more gigs, and come to LA. The haters are in the minority. Please come back and play for the people that love you here.
Let’s just go over to his place in person to collect. Of course, we can be compensated for travel, lodging, and other costs there and back to our homeland. My friend in Australia is already looking into tickets.
You get what you're given. If you wanted perfect sound you should have showed up with your thousand dollar recording equipment. Be grateful that someone recorded the whole thing and put it up for everyone to see.
I hope he figures a way to get the Archives out - I'm hoping Gene and Vinnie getting together for the Vault cut through red tape putting KISS era demos out. I wonder if the songs Carmine Appice was talking about releasing will be released. Vinnie can always do a "listening party" aand hear some "Unholy" Grails and his earliest songs as well as what he's been working on.
Gotta pay money for that apparently. Being its 2019 and every single musician in the world who enjoys to perform just puts it up for free on Facebook, Bandcamp, RU-vid. I love playing and enjoy showing people my songs... But you gotta pay $500 if u want to hear VV play... Huh..
