Some of the many people watch your videos because they are authentic, non-dramatized reports from our man in africa. 🙂 Vs. So many other big picture or professional solo productions elsewhere. Thank you for sharing.
Er, thanks.... I just started doing the videos for my friends and family, and er... its kinda got a bit out of hand. I really didnt expect anyone to like the video's and certainly didnt expect all these subscribers. Which had left me a little dazed and confused....(cue a Led Zeppelin song). Thanks for watching though. Glad you find them interesting.
Fantastic videos, I have done that route 26 times but only took an Olimpus trip camera! Keep on going and when you stop your trip go home and do it all again as long as you have good health. You won't be able to resist it. Merry Christmas Tony.
What a fabulous video. I really enjoyed watching your progress as you made your way out of Dakar. What a mixture....Large HGV's mixing it up with Tuk-Tuks and a little later horse drawn carts. Incredible. I also commend you for the lack of talking for the bulk of the video. So many 'vloggers' seem more interested in hearing their own voice, but not you. Stay safe.
I really cant be bothered with 'live' commentary. I left the UK with a mike in my helmet but ripped it out as I hated the sound of my own voice and it just took away any kind of enjoyment I was having on the open road. I'm just making some video as i go along. Nothing serious, but if people want that, then theres lots of pther people doing it. Me...? Its just a little too much. Thanks for watching mate. Glad you're staying awake to get the the end of the vid's...!
Quite the skill set necessary to lane split (that's what we call it in the States) through all that traffic. Every once in a while I catch your speedometer and check your speed. Is it set to kilometers per hour or miles per hour?
Thoroughly enjoying watching you on your adventures. I've been having a look at buying a suitable bike for long term camping and travels and have been really impressed with how your v strom is coping, so much so that I've just px,d my beautiful hayabusa for a 2020 fully kitted out v strom and it's being delivered next Thursday. I'm going to ride the coast of GB and the islands of Scotland including Orkney and Shetland from April for around 6 months. So thank you for giving me an insight into the Suzuki and I wish you safe journeys and have a GREAT Christmas, regards Mal.
Hi Mal.... Wow. No dont go blaming me when you start missing your Bussa..... You'll find the VS is a good bike. very forgiving handling, and it can also do some bumpy bits. The torque is what i love about it. it just pulls... Dont go buying lots of bits for it like many do. Live with it first and you may be surprised. Also, Tourance tyres are pretty good... Have fun, mate.
It was alright at first mate, but its becoming a bit of a problem at the moment, namely having power to use my laptop and also a wifi signal - but I'm getting there...!
Merry Christmas Ian, but please give us a shout how you are doing. We are all getting slightly worried as we have not heard from you for nine days now. Hope these are the internet problems rather than anything else and hope you are actually well.
I have ridden in some very hot countries a real life saver is to thoroughly wet your t shirt and put it on under your jacket , it will help a lot to cool you down , carry water so you can wet it again. Also really important not just to drink water but to take electrolytes. Dioralyte even will help ! Minimum sea salt ( not table salt ) as it contains trace minerals.
As others have said, have been watching with great interest and living vicariously through your videos! You've been posting quite regularly and nothing for a while so really hope all is well!? . Looking forward to the next instalments and Hope the tea is lasting ok, or that is a major emergency!
@@onemanonebike8514 yeah, suspect some parts of africa don't have the best 3G or 4G network! (like at all 😂) And uploading to RU-vid is squarely a 1st world problem! Let alone even heard of in some places! 😂🌍
Tell you what mate, the politico's in the UK keep telling us were polluted and need to change - they aught to come over here. Never seen so many polluting vehicles and discarded plastic in my life. Young Greta would have an aneurysm...
I am enjoying following you on your adventure in Africa. Glad you can take the trip now. Do it while you’re still young enough. I am in my late seventies now and can’t travel as much now. Enjoy your adventure❤😊
Hello Ian, good to see again ! You're looking well and relaxed Know that, I really admire your extensive patience amongst the grid lock traffic, keeping calm among the havoc is a sign of wisdom and experience, much respect 🙏 . It seemed to be a bit of mission from the begin with that PASTAMI lorry blocking your way and not only, it felt claustrophobic for awhile, I bet you were wishing to ride on those desolate roads as you have been doing up until you got to Dakar. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see that you found a nice place to recharge and chill out. Know that I always look forward to seeing your videos and tell us about your endeavors. Take your time and look after yourself and your reliable Suzuki.
Cheers mate. Theres naff-all you can do when you get stuck so all you can do is grin and bear it or find a way out. Getting angry doesnt get you anywhere or make things go faster. TBH, I kinda enjoyed the traffic in Dakar. At the time it seemed like a nightmare but once I'd got to where I was supposed to be - I kinda felt elated. Cheers for watching mate...
@@h026532792 - you get annoying pop ups a lot, especially about logging into your account, which annoys me as I rarely have wifi. You also need to download any transitions or effects you need otherwise, if you have no wifi you can’t access things like transitions or effects. When I get back I’m going to start looking at other software. On its favour though, it is easy to master and does a good job of editing.
Greetings fae Glesga big man, all kidding aside You talk about your chain. Another thing that we bikers in the wet and cold north often neglect is the AIR FILTER. When I lived in southern Spain, I was shocked to see how dirty and dusty it was on my bike. I had to clean it every few weeks after that. Your content and music are captivating, and your post-production style creates a coherent and engaging narrative. Thanks, from another sixty-four-year-old biking daftie. 💓🏍
