Goodbye Kiss. Loved them in my teen years, had so many magazines, made heaps of scrapbooks, devoured every vinyl album daily, wrote out all their songs, dressed like them, had little concerts with my friends, saw them live.... they were my teenage heroes. Amazing they lasted this long.

That was nice of you to mention past and present members of Kiss before you started your podcast. Thank you! Surprisingly there was no mention of that by the band Saturday night.

So much to be said about these shows..I was fortunate to attend and have VIP access to 3 EOTR shows starting in 2019. Of the 3, there were "issues" that put 2 of the meet and greet photo ops in jeopardy, 1 didn't happen at all (at least for us..this is what happens when you play by the rules kids😉). Minor issues aside, all 3 experiences were awesome, which leads to the fact that the "experience" is what it's all about. The shows have been exactly the same for the last 47 shows (subtracting the 3 cancelled). That being said, my final show was Nashville and I can't say that being at the MSG shows would have been any different in my mind..kudos to all those who were able to make the trek, but for the massive amount of money spent to be at the "final" show, I honestly would have felt cheated to a degree. Lots of cool merch for the event tho! Sad for the ones who were there and missed out due to greedy dealers buying mass quantities and posting to eBay before midnight..my comments are not meant to be negative, but more of a reality check..blessed to ride out all 50yrs.

Thanks for your show. Re: Paul speaking from the heart.....He did speak from his heart, it's just that his heart is not in the same place as ours towards the band. It's a job to him, so that's why there was such a complete lack of emotion. It also felt to me that maybe their was a lack of emotion because to them it's not the end of KISS, whether it be avatars or I am pretty sure, one-off events/shows.

All I know is that there were several moments where I'm watching the PPV going "holy shit, I'm legitimately never going to see this again." Whether they stuck to script or not, it was a super emotional show and I'm happy to have been able to see it. In my 38 years on this planet, Kiss has been part of 34 of them. Crazy to think about, knowing the Kiss we all came up with is no more. The avatar thing is honestly a brilliant idea. It's not my cup of tea, but if ABBA can do it and make it crazy successful, Why can't Kiss?

Now is the time to be brutally honest Mike, the December 2nd KISS MSG show left real lifelong KISS fans scratching their heads. Shannon Tweed put a spotlight on the Gene and Paul business plan in her comments, "...it was a business decision for 'some' to not be included at this time...". KISS disappearing into the 'mists-of-time' at the end of Rock and Roll Al Nite was magical, I was hoping to see a real-life KISS 2.0 emerge after that, WOW what a fantastic segwey that would have been. The 90s-level AI avatar introduction has already met an early fate with real KISS fans. I would pay up to $125 a ticket to see an official KISS 2.0 (with real human beings) playing deep-cuts and old catalogue songs live. On stages from Kisstory or maybe tour-concepts that never happened. The AI stuff I would pass on a $10 ticket on a Sunday afternoon.

I listened to Ace on Eddie Trunk a few days before the final shows and he did address it because Eddie asked him about it. He was very honest and at the end of it he did say that he wished Gene and Paul all the best and hoped the shows went well. Judging by the tone is his voice it sounded very genuine. It was great to hear.

Nice re-cap, guys! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire week. Although the shows, merch, and activities were all fantastic, connecting with friends and KISS Army family was the best part and what I’ll miss most. As Gene says, it’s a very tribal experience and our community is very real. Nice seeing you twice Mike and I hope we get to catch-up again at a convention, GS Band or Soul Station show, or related event soon!

Friday was great, I enjoyed it from the same section as my first 1977 show, what a ride! Nice seeing you on both days! Here’s my take on the Avatar KISS, I never want to lose sight of the fact that I pluck down money to attend a concert to see living beings. Doesn’t matter if it’s on a grand scale at the garden or a band playing in a bar. There has to be a human thread connection between musicians and fans. Having said that I will not support this endeavor but you are right, I’m not the target audience. Nice discussion as always.

Last night at the garden Paul could of took one minute out to say 1 would like to thank Bill Aucoin ,Sean Delaney and Neil Bogart for being there from the very beginning without them we might not even be here today. Thank you to our kiss family members Peter Criss and Ace Frehley who helped create this legacy we built together that will last lifetimes. and much thanks to Eric Carr who helped us when we were down And vinnie Vincent, mark St. John ,Bruce Kulick and for over two decades Eric singer and Tommy Thayer who helped to keep this entity kiss going! and especially to all the kiss army around the world, that stuck by us through think and thin and share this victory together w us you are the ones that really made it happen, our dreams were never to big w the kiss army! Kiss will live in one way or another forever, shout it out loud and be proud! How hard would that have been? They had plenty of time to prepare that and it would of ended them w class and a show of appreciation.

I saw the show on PPV. It was great. My only gripe is NO STRUTTER !!?? I know they cant play them all but It's always been a staple at a Kiss concert. How do you do the final show without doing very first song from the very first album? Still the show was great. I will miss them

Great show. Yes Mike I paid for the PPV show. I paid a total of $408.00. It was $350.00. I’ve heard there was not enough Golden Tickets for even everyone at MSG. I feel bad for you guys!!! 😭😭😭 I was also disappointed not to see even a video montage of other prior band members!!! It did seem just like a regular concert, not the last concert!!! Very sad about that!!! 😢😢😢

Remeber Ace and Peter refused to be part of the A & E biography which was a dick move and showed how much ending it meant to them so why ahould they have been included in the final concert ? Them being together means more to the fans than obviously it means to them.

I disagree with comparing to Abba who last toured in 1980, not flog the same old show for years with accusations of lip syncing. I do agree that they need to let this rest for now and sell us some Blu-rays of the MSG show, or reissue Kissology on Blu-ray. There's plenty of us in the same age range who still want to buy this stuff!

Yeah I don’t get it, I could have choreographed a better last show especially if in fact it is the final performance. I traveled from nj to LA to see Motleys final show New Year’s Eve 2015. They also performed the same exact show from the tour. I was disappointed with that but I wasn’t disappointed Saturday night in NYC. It was KISS! My first concert ever was KISS 77 in Philly! It was fitting for me to be there Saturday! On my train ride up I brought my earbuds and the first song I cranked was Strutter, so that song with the train moving on my way to the show sent goosebumps down my spine! Even though Ace and Peter didn’t show Gene and Paul did a great job closing kiss’s career!

Mike. ABBA have sold nearly 400 million albums and are ingrained in popular culture worldwide. KISS are about a quarter of this in terms of sales, even less so outside of America. Yes, there MAYBE a market for it but cannot be compared to ABBA in any way.

Guys... this is Kiss we're talking about. All the complaints you have mentioned -- no mention of past members, no invite given to Bruce, no mention of Eric Carr etc etc. This is because Gene and Paul either don't believe this is the last of them performing live as Kiss or they aren't sure. They likely want to see how this Avatar bs will pan out before pulling a Motley Crue on everyone by reprising their roles. Kiss fans are some of the biggest dupes in rock but surely you aren't this gullible.

My unmasked KISS were already buried in 1996. Anyway, the reunion tour was an exciting thing. After that, however things largely went downhill. Apart from the very good Monster album and stage show, it became embarrassing and had something of a cheap soap opera about it.

Stanley having his son on stage and saying how talented he is is bull. There's too much of that going on in the music business, and there's a name for it but I can't just think of it now. Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Eddie van Halen, and many more because of their wealth and stature are able to push their kids into big venues and have them opening for big acts, and only for their connections they would never play more than bars. While more actually talented musicians are left to the side and don't get the break they deserve. Bruce kulicks band should have opened.

That noodling that mike refers to reminds me of when I seen slash and Myles Kennedy on their second tour, slash spent a half hour playing pure absolute noisy shredding nonsense, that had absolutely no pattern or Melody, no joking but by the time he had finished everyone in the arena had there fingers in their ears and shaking their heads in disgust. Total waste of time the same way as drum solos are in live concerts. He started it in the middle of the great song rocked queen and by the time he finished u had forgotten what song he was in.

1:03 "Paul did nothing from the heart" 1:07 "I just wish Paul would have put the script in the shredder and just spoke from his heart". HE COULDN'T! He knew he would lose control. He had to deny his emotion❤, to negate. To hold to the script. After the show, he said, he'll cry like a little girl. The script and daily routine saved him. That's how I saw it. Respect to Paul🌹
