Mike I just want to tell you what a fantastic job you did interviewing Doc... you ask great questions, even the ones that could have been uncomfortable, and left no Stones Unturned. Thank you again for all the effort you put into your show your podcast. Kudos and much respect!
This is my first time listening to this show…and I gotta say the hosts questions are literally the BEST ones I’ve heard so far…awesome job…as you were asking questions I was flinching because you asked questions that addressed “elephants in the room”
Incredible work Mike! This is definitely going to get picked up by other media outlets, you've asked questions that have been looming for many kiss fans
Doc is a good guy, in 2010 ish i was at a show in toronto, and after the show i was walking around looking for guitar pics and seen him at the sound board, i walked up and he was a friendly as could be took a pic with me super nice guy 👍🏻
This was in my waiting list for a week now. I heard the news about Kiss sold there catalogue. I Wish I listened to this podcast earlier before the news. After this interview I feel much better about it. So thank you Mike.
Thanks Mike for the interview with Doc. There is always would have should have could have with situations. It would have been nice to put a closer on the “first 50 years” of KISS by recognizing the previous band members, not just in video shots during the last concert. We have seen those before during certain songs. It left a bitter taste in my mouth along with others as to how the concert ended. Anyway, I know that horse has been beaten enough. Thanks again for bringing this for the fans.
There's nothing "inquisitorial" about Mike Brunn's interviews 👍. That's why Doc McGhee was feeling good. The Avatars will be a KISS show, but "bigger and better!" And "more close and personal". How can Avatars be "personal"? This man knows how to keep the KISS Army alive!. Then he mentioned Broadway. Will they as next perform on European stages? It's exciting. The introduction of the Future KISS at the Final show was really perfect. A "natural fit". His idea, but Doc doesn't exaggerate. And it's great to give credit to the "workers": Robert Long and Ashley "They are KISS". And Paul and Gene are Doc's brothers... Didn't he even mention Ace's album is great? All in all it was an interesting and positive interview☀️
Just been announced here on the bbc Kiss have sold the catalogue and brand to the Swedish company that are doing the avatars for $300 million Tbh I'd expect that for the music but surely the brand is worth way way more
It sounds like they're going to throw everything against the wall and see what sticks. Nostalgia shows, merchandise, and the rest promotional campaigns for future projects. Its going to be tough keeping the brand afloat without the actual band out there. Of course the Cruise assures there will be some kind of performance but that should not surprise anyone. We shall see.
@@berniecasey7592 I haven't seen them live since their original farewell tour in 2000. Haven't missed a thing, but I was always curious how these mega egotists were going to close the door and still make money. I think the brand has a better chance in someone else's hands. Taking it away from Paul and Gene is the best thing that can happen. At least if the public wants an honest accounting of history.
@@berniecasey7592Proud to say the very same thing. I haven't watched Mike's video (and will today) but I recall before the Rediculous Avetars that all of them (including Gene and Paul) could be replaced by actual humans they would carry the torch. Kind of like Menudo. But they must have thought the Avatars were a better idea. WHATEVER!
Mike, I've got to hand it to you these interviews are getting more in-depth and informative as time goes by. Doc appears to be more forthright now albeit he still is vague on the KISS-plan about the next 3 years. Real fans wonder if there is a third-party investor involved with the AI avatar push and the duplication of the COTN box-set. Worthwhile time spent, thanks Mike.
After attending 4 of last 5 Kiss Kruises I would hate to miss more but I'm sure they won't adjust the price despite the presumed loss of Kiss playing shows on the boat. The Kiss Kruise already cost a lot more than other music cruises. The premium could probably be justified since you're getting multiple Kiss shows on the boat. Without that, the premium doesn't make sense to me.
Yeah, the golden tickets were MSG exclusive, except you could just go to the PPV website and buy one if you weren't even at MSG and even if you didn't buy the PPV. I was there on Dec 2nd AND I purchased the PPV so my sick mom back home in Iowa could kind of in a way experience the concert with me. Not even a hint of a ticket. When I found out anyone that wasn't even there could just go buy one, I didn't even want it anymore. The last show was supposed to be something special and really, it was just like any other show you can watch on youtube. An expensive disappointment. Best part of the whole thing was that I got to see NYC for the first time and meet a lot of random Kiss shirt wearing fans all day from all over the world.
That's what happens when you watch a kiss concert on you tube before you see them live. You already know everything that is going to happen. Its like knowing all your Christmas presents before they are wrapped. The surprise is gone..
Mike this was an excellent interview. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. You asked some excellent questions and great subject matter. One thing i was hoping to hear is if theyre going to do a box set and bluray of the last shows. I went to the Baltimore show which is my hometown and the Dec 2 show. I noticed a whole lot of cameras floating around. So im hoping to see something commemorating those last shows.
Great interview. He was ambiguous about the brand being sold but it sounds like the merch is going to be handled by a different company, maybe KISSONLINE is going to be sold off. I would have been curious if they want to do a paid subscription app/website where it would be multimedia and exclusives. The impression I got about the Avatars is they have a pretty good idea of whats going to be launched, but there may be some things that may or may not happen.
Great interview short but with a lot information, the only thing i don't see happening is new music I feel that Paul not want to simple as that, for the rest time will tell
All the right questions, Mike. So interesting info a lot of us wanted to know right from the man. Wonder what's the company they've team with, music/record co? Marketing? We'll see in a few months. And for the dates, new Kruise in the summer? Maybe Europe?
Generally a good interview, and did ask some tough questions, but I feel like you should’ve asked him about his admission that Paul’s vocals were “enhanced” on the EOTR tour.
I always hoped that whenever the Biopic finally comes out, the actors who play the respected members of Kiss Will be the actual official sort of replacements in the band in terms of a live format. But it looks like they are going this Avatar's route, and it seems they are putting so much money into that. I hope that works out as they hope it will be. I've always loved Doc. He comes across as somebody you could "shoot the shit" with. He is great. Excellent interview, as always, Mike!
A good/tough question would be around where did the Icon logos come from? I understand that they were taken without compensation/acknowledgement from the artist.
Great video! it is really interesting to see the KISS brand works. Your channel is great! Thank you. So there is mention of documentaries of the End of the Road tour and avatars. I have heard alot of negative responses to the avatars. in the interview i heard mention also of avavtars and "superhero realms", and it doing the ABBA things witch is supercool, however i have an idea. it is this..maybe use the avatars to finish the Elder ? Use them to make the Elder finally acutally make sense? its a concept they did with Ezrin right after he made Pink Floyd's The Wall no? Make it come together? It's a pretty cool album. But you could watch it? that would sick. anyway if you like the idea, pass it along since you talk to them. Cheers!
I just saw Ace Frehley last year. Awesome guitar player does a great job vocals or what they are, but I enjoyed the show. I didn’t have to go to a kitty show like I do with kids sit with all the 10-year-olds.
@@therockexperiencewithmikeb8365hey Mike. Do you have an email I can reach out to you on. There’s an initiative I’ve been working on to honor Kiss and I wanted to discuss it further with you.
I'm not interested in paying money to see the avatars "live". I hope instead they'd do something like an animated series of their personas like the Psycho Circus comic book.
These suckers should either pay back Or fulfill the contracts from the 2020show…I wont buy a single thing again of them before I get my stuff… Internet offers releases also for free, thats where I will head to as mong as Kiss owes me compensation for what I paid money for…
Tgheyve never been superheros to me GS doesnt have the body for it PS. is a bit on the softer side TT. welll who is heee , really ES....cat man...well I can relate i guess cuz he likes puzzy
Paul Stanley seminar on artisan pizzas, Gene Simmons bass playing masterclass on how to get Bruce Kulick to record all your bass parts for 11 years, Tommy Thayer masterclass on spouting. Eric Singer doesn’t care enough to show up.
The guy is nothing but a money man. He doesn’t have a creative bone in his body. Kiss needed another mgr with a vision like Aucoin. From the Reunion era until EOTR was mostly pathetic. Doc could make them money which is all they cared about, but he was a yes man and never took Kiss to the next level. Same old shit. Spitting flammable fluid at an open flame, same gimmicks that were cool on 1974. He never developed them. Just more TSO like shows. Would have loved for someone to guide them into making more than 3 albums in 25 years and basically the same stale show and setlist. I know $ is king to these guys, but growing and developing is something a good mgr would do. He didn’t. Just all about the cash. No creativity at all.
Used to be a big Fan,,,,,,,,,,,,but i am sick of seeing demon donut throwing up them devils horns every damn time anyone takes a picture of him,,,,,,,,
Well congrats, it did end as one of the bad est show's you've done. Didn't want to go down memory lane"" you say? What a piss poor excuse for putting on a final show without celebrating it with the fans from beginning to end. I still haven't watched it in it's entirety and doubt I ever will.
So you’re the manager of the band and you don’t know what’s happening with the product being given out to the fans at KISS shows? No offense, but it’s looking at the history. You have the massive Dubai screwup with the pay-per-view and now the golden ticket fiasco where people obviously hoarded the tickets and put them on eBay up to $1500 each until KISS online set it straight and dropped them for sale for a reasonable price. This is just my own opinion there needs to be more accountability for what happens less excuse making… I hope the precedent being set by the $900 Creatures of the Night superset isn’t going to be a continuous cycle for us now that the band has retired
