Could you explain a little about the purpose of the NR switch and light? I did try searching the manual....

The NR switch operates the back up Rotor RPM system. Not shown here is the lights will match the main gauge on the run up when the carb heat system is tested. The green light indicates the back up system is active as it bypasses the master switch so can drain the battery if inadvertently left on. It's switched to the main position for normal flight so you don't have the green light shining in your eyes, however the yellow caution lights are active in both positions if the rotor speed is in the respective ranges.

Well said Zak, yes the NR lights are used if your EPM ever fails you will still be able to know if your RPM is in the green or if it is high the top light will come on and if your RPM is low the bottom light is on.
