I know the pain of feeling alone, whilst the one person who is supposed to be in your corner isn't. Thankfully for me my husband realized sooner that he had to change and stand with me. Having listened to the Gentle Giant speak after listening to Ketso, i can tell you now that this man is rehearsed and this is not based on what Ketso said about him, Gentle Giant is merely reciting a textbook he always reads. He is not speaking from the heart. This is just another Jay Shetty, who reads other people's staff and recites it and others get convinced. Well i'm not. And all i can say after listening to him and Ketso, is that indeed there is more they did, that Ketso is not willing to disclose now. That's all I gotta say.
My Toxic Trait in a relationship seems to be me being a confrontational person to my partner. I let nothing slide and man do Men hate that. I always get told that the problem is the manner of approach. My problem is Why must I be nice when I’m being dribbled? I really wanna be a marshmallow…I’m trying but it’s not easy🚮
You don't have to be nice but you need a new approach. You may be having all valid points but if your approach comes from a point of disrespect then you will not get what you are looking for. Very important to watch your tone when you are asking probing questions to your man.
You have to practice mindfulness and learn how to be calm. If you raise your voice at someone you trigger their own past traumas and they become defensive instead of giving you a chance to tell your story. By reacting negatively you remove the chance of receiving compassion and empathy for what you need to express. To the other person you are attacking them and they need to defend themselves. Calmness and respectful expression results in effective communication and gives the other person a chance to reflect and realise how their actions have affected you.
You don't need to be a marshmallow, you need to learn to communicate respectfully. It sounds like, your delivery is problematic. However, you seem to have self-awareness though.
