All the major shoe manufacturers seem to have successfully gaslit the public to accept that running shoes should only last for a few months or so. This is absurd. Nearly all the RU-vid channels that test running shoes (in fact All of them except this one) connive at this nonsense. We've reached a stage now where shoes that are designed to fall apart after a few months' use cost a small fortune and everyone is apparently cool with this. I've started turning my back on big name shoes and am now shopping only for cheap, budget options. They're not great and they won't last long but they won't cost the earth either. Expensive shoes just don't last long enough to be worth buying. I don't care how soft and spongy the latest foam is if the manufacturer insists I'll need to throw the shoes away after 400 miles. (Dave Bedford, the top British middle distance runner when I was a lad, used to run 200 miles a week in training.)

Absolutely agree with your comment. And I feel that more of us should do exactly the same (myself included, IF I only could again). Somehow "in my defence" I started to look for softer foams few years ago when I developed "plantar fasciitis" on both of my feet for doing way to many hours on feet in dress shoes at my job without absolutely any kind of cushioning under my feet... till I ended up with excruciating pain that made me to lose a number of nights of sleep... till eventually I understood that is no other way and I have to go to see a doctor about it. Since then I'm looking for soft foams in sneakers because they can be at times the only thing that can alleviate my pain without taking any drugs/medicine that day (which now are "a part of my life" sadly, because without the painkillers I can't have "a regular" day like everyone else). I never knew how important is to have a footwear in my feet that is made it to protect them along with giving the performance I paid for. I wish I knew it... without learning it on "the hard way" though... I also wish that this channel could do more about the way where the industry of the running sneakers is heading these days but, like you have said IF the big channel's don't have a REAL voice (being paid or want to have some kind of benefits now or in future) in order to correct "the behavior" of this giant brands, I'm afraid is not really much that we can do. ALTHOUGH "that" it doesn't mean that I will STOP saying what I feel about these products in my videos! Thank you for taking your time to share here your thoughts, is really a honor to have you here Sir "Dave"! P.S: Please excuse my poor English level, is not my forte (obviously)!

Hi there mister David, Sorry to bother you, I want to ask you a big favor (if is not too much to ask you sir?!). The top comment that you left it here, before. I want to use it in my next video, because I really think that it should reach to more people. A important figure as you sir, should be heard more often and by a bigger number of people, not just be read from time to time as a "random commentary" in one of my videos. So if is not too much to ask, I think it will fit very well on my next video because it will be related with New Balance 411v3 that has ~30% of rubber in those outsoles and rest of it is pure exposed foam and people have to know that "this" it wasn't this way in the past with the rest of running sneakers and "this trend" has to be stopped as soon as possible... or at least we have to try it. I believe that ALL the shoe manufacturers have an obligation to provide footwear that is first of all "safe to use" and having only "plush foams" as an outsole is simply ridiculous and is the opussed thing to do when someone looks for a SAFE running footwear! P.S: I won't use it your comment if for any reason you are NOT agree with this (for me was a real honor anyway... just to have you here watching one of my videos, honestly) and I believe that is correct to ask the permission before using something that is not mine. Thanks in advance and have a pleasant week-end sir!

@@EasyLifeES Feel free to use the comment, my friend. To clear up any confusion, however, I should point out that I am NOT Dave Bedford. He was a boyhood hero of mine from the 70s whom I mentioned because he famously ran 200 miles a week in training wearing the old Nike Waffles that he evidently didn't need to replace every month! The Waffle, in hommage to Bedford, became my first shoe. As I recall it lasted for ages but unfortunately didn't allow me to run like DB. Nowadays the shoe companies pretend that the only virtue a shoe should possess is lightness, as if we're all involved in a constant struggle to lower the world record and would succeed if not for that extra ounce of rubber on the outsole. This is a lie, of course. They are just saving money, not helping people run faster. (I admit that a professional race shoe that one might buy for an Olympic final and then throw away afterwards might fairly meet these production criteria. But it is disingenuous on the part of the shoe companies to pretend that this is what the general public wants or needs.) Keep up the good work.

@@xfosda Thank you for clarifying "THAT PART". These days we might meet anybody on internet ... even maybe a "living legend" like himself... I got confused by the parenthesis at the end of your first comment (my mistake there, I just assumed you might be "that Dave"). 😅 I will not use your comment, because I don't want to induce in error other people (if is not coming from the person that I thought it was). That one of course being "Dave Bedford" which is 73 years old now btw and it was a running champion many years ago (for those ignorants... like me, that maybe don't know who it was...quick Wikipedia search... And is all there... All the info you need about him). Although what you've said, remains valid in my opinion and I'm totally agree with that. Except maybe the part about cushioning in foams... which might be important for some people (like the ones with plantar fasciitis or need some sneakers for recovery days). For me that part is a must these days, in my running shoes. And yes, I'm planning to show more "on the budget options" in the future... And continue to highlight the ones that are a "relatively good buy" IMO (although they might be far from being "perfect", not having the correct amount of rubber in them... which should be "always 100% of that outsole"). The saddest thought, is they will reduce it more and more those rubber outsoles just using the pretext of doing it to reduce the weight and protect the planet, which are BOTH big lies for everyone that has some common sense. Even the models that we can find today in 2023, will became a "luxury thing" in few years... having this amount of rubber that they still have these days...

"One of the best sneaker reviewer in youtube, you're the only reviewer that i don't have to read the comments for more pov👍" - Thank you, I'm trying to do these episodes useful for those who cares. I can't count how many times I've seen videos all over these years and at the end I had the same question on my mind: "So, are they good or NOT?" Because most of the people will avoid to say what they really think... to keep it friendly with the brands (other excuse I don't see really). "I agreed without rubber outsole, all these shoes belongs to indoor exercise, i slipped alot outdoor.." - Yeah, because our health is much more important than anything else... Cheers mate!

Considering the Ultrabounce to add to my rotation. I wear size 8 (UK) on the NMD R1 and NMD V3. Should I go 8 or 7.5 on the Ultrabounce because people said that it's wider than most shoes? Thank you!
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES 10 месяцев назад
I can't give an advice in your case, because somehow I never ended trying a pair of NMD's models. In general in all my videos I show multiple models and brands of sneakers to give the public a better idea of how the sneakers are fitting to my feet. "That" happens during the unboxing in all my videos. Maybe someone from my public can give you some help.

Do they have good cushioning or are other models better? I'm looking for them for long walks and they are made of mesh textile fabric.
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES 10 месяцев назад
They have the lower end price, so cushioning can't be the best in them but, is decent enough (for the price). They have mesh and is reinforced with some thin layer of foam. For the hottest days these ones might be a bit "too thick/too padded", but as far the quality goes, they have one of the best ratios for the price that they are. Always they will be compromises, 4-5 years ago most of the sneakers (not the marathon ones) had great outsoles with almost 100% coverage with rubber, these days "that" is gone... So some sneakers are better in many ways but, they are sacrificing the safety (which is mind blowing) under the pretext that: "We wanted to make them lighter."... which is half of truth... They wanted to cut down the cost of fabrication and to charge for them same money (or more) like in the past when the quality was correct. Now to answer to your question... NB Arishi v4 are almost perfect in many ways for me but, the rubber from the outsole is not as much present as is in this pair of Adidas. Those NB Arishi v4 are: - more airy - great cushioning - great comfort - lightweight, more than enough - around same the price if not mistaken... depending where you live in the world can be cheaper or not For me right now they are 3 sneakers that I liked more than those Arishi's 4 (but they are almost double the price): - NB More V4 - Asics Superblast - NB 1080v12

Fantastic and good detailed review I love the red color just waiting for a good deal of around 50usd. The length of my feet is 25 cm can you suggest me that what size of these shoes should I order . please reply...
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES 8 месяцев назад
I'm glad that you find it useful. About your size...I really can't try to guess your size (with accuracy) because THAT is something just TOO personal. None of us have the same feet. The feet can be: with/without arch, narrow/regular/wide, shape of the toes also matters and so on. Normally the people are asking if they are running true-to-size. And they DO... at least for me. In order to know your size I suggest you try few Adidas running shoes in a store (no matter the models) and that "way" you will have a better idea which size you have "in general" in Adidas footwear. And I do recommend to repeat "that" with the rest of the brands that are interesting you. At the end is only knowledge about yourself. I sometimes tried to guess the size of my partner... who lives with me (and even this way, from time to time she said that is... too wide... or longer... or short etc). So no one can know better than you. That is why you should try them. In my case with around 26cm foot length, I had good luck with the size ES 41 41/3 - 8 US. But, from time to time I had to go size up to ES 42 - 8.5 US. Because of "that" when I'm unsure, I buy 2 different size and keep the one that it fits better to my feet. You with 25cm will be in between ES 40 - 40 2/3 or 7 - 7.5 US. But, is just guessing... of course. I hope this helps you somehow!

do you have any recommendations about running shoes arround 80$?
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES 11 месяцев назад
Hard to say... 1st of all I don't live in State's... So I don't know how are the prices there in the regular dedicated running sneakers stores that they have there. In general older models (2021 or lower) tend to have better materials than the 2022 & 2023 models... True story unfortunately! 2nd it depends of the kind of feet you have... Flat vs with arch (low/medium/high) 3rd the width... Narrow / Regular / Wide. 4th the weight... ~65kg/~85kg/ +85kg 5th the kind of running you are planning... Short distances (less than 5km), medium (10-20km), long (+20km) & how often. And they are few points more (like the kind of pronation, kind of terrain etc) to take in consideration but for now... These ones will do. To still give you a starting point... Check the New Balance "Fresh Foam models" and see what you like there. They have diversity, usually decent quality and try to have 2 things in your view while searching: - amount of foam (more is better in longer runs) - good rubber outsoles (thicker and over all the entire surface of the outsole would be better for longevity and safety) - if possible some perforated upper materials without too much padding around the colar and heel would be nice too (less moisture inside & better comfort). This will be a good starting point. I can't say more because I only know MY feet. When I know more about you... I can help you little bit better.

I guess you got them with a small discount. The regular price is 90€/80€. Adidas Questar 2 M are little bit better in cushioning than these ones. Those will be my current pick in that price range in adidas sneakers.

@EasyLifeES

Hi there, The foam is slightly softer than the regular well-known EVA foam. I personally don't see any problems to be used for long walks. Unless you "need" very soft foam (you have very sensitive feet or you have plantar fasciitis like I do) under your feet, these ones will do the job flawlessly. I hope this comment helps you somehow.
