Video was recorded in 2023.12.15 but without "minimal editing" it wouldn't have seen never the day light. I don't have time to edit everything that goes thru my hands all the time. That's why I do these "minimal editing" episodes.

I bought the same ones for myself. Before going outside, I treated a pair of shoes with Saphir cosmetics.

I believe the same. They are only very few minor details I would change in them. But in general really happy with them actually.

Would you know how this last compares to the Rod? I know my Rod last so I am keen to pick these in the same size but not sure if I should take the same size

Hi there, I never tried the ROD last but I've been checking Onyx vs Rod on the website and is little bit shorter : UK size 7.5 (my size) Onyx: - insole length 283 mm - insole width 96 mm - ball girth 247 mm - foot length 264 mm - external insole 277 mm (as shown at 00:57 in the video) Rod: - insole length 287 mm - insole width 96 mm - ball girth 245 mm - foot length 267 mm - external insole - I hope this helps you! Same width, but shorter than Rod last.

@@EasyLifeES Thank you a lot! Found this particular boot on a second hand website for 1/2 price in the color green. It would not be my first choice but the green color still looks dope. Would you get the green one for 1/2 the price? Love to hear your opinion. Thanks again for the detailed answer.

@@editsbydaan6048 "Thank you a lot! " - Sure, of course. I'm "here" to help! :) "Found this particular boot on a second hand website for 1/2 price in the color green. It would not be my first choice but the green color still looks dope." - Honestly all the colors that I've seen on this model I really like them (except maybe the ones called "WAXY", those aren't something that I will be crazy to get a pair... just not my favorite choice of leather). They don't look "clean/sharp/classy" enough to my eyes. About the regular ones, I wouldn't mind having at least one pair from every color of this model (they look awesome, to my eyes). About the part of being a second-hand item... there it gets "tricky" for ME (BUT it doesn't have to be this way for others too !!!). I personally have a hard time buying 2nd hand stuff (from the smallest thing to a car, if you like)... I don't know why... but... I have a very weird feeling when I'm thinking buying someone else's stuff. I feel like I can't, for some reason. I rather pay full price in "4 interest-free installments" over 4 months (or more if i can't afford it at that time) and get "a new pair", than buying something used by someone else. Is just an "annoying" cork (maybe for other) that I have... Is hard to explain... I don't know... I'm just "weird", I guess in this regard! :) Usually I'm trying to avoid buying "this way" every time I can, unless that thing it was never worn by that person and they are no signs of wear at all (I don't know... maybe the size was too small, or too big, too wide etc). Is NOT the best way to live your life but... What I can do ?! No one is perfect! :) I always been like this... some will say ... he's just "spoiled" or any other synonym of that word, but I don't think is "that"... I won't rumble more about this topic, because I will just make it sound worse, than it is. I respect the ones that won't mind doing this (because in the end is Recycling and won't throw perfectly usable stuff this way), but for me... Unless I am in a war or "post apocalyptic times" and I need that thing to survive, I know that I will do my best to get everything NEW as long I am healthy and I can work or I have my money. I usually I encourage people to buy "off season collections", because "there" we get the best "Bang for the buck" by paying half or sometimes even less, of the initial price. IF is from 1-3 years old and doesn't have printed on my chest "2022" (unless is something like: Since xxxx year, that's a completely different thing) I am perfectly happy with that. Older than 3 years (depending of "what" it is) might start to have a changed look, so I will be more careful with it, before placing my order. I feel that almost always are other better ways for buying things, than buying "second hand"... If is something "antique", that's a different story. Even if you are not willing to pay full retail price at ones. Because I will rather buy older collections with better materials, than the newer collections, but with more plastic in them, or in "this case" less rubber amount or partial leather etc. I hope you won't find my answers offensive (is really not my intention at all), we are "here" to share our thoughts and find ways to buy more affordable and smarter when is possible. P.S 1: Half of the retail price for a second hand pair which already has been used by someone else or tested in a store (is the same for me) I believe is way TOO much, because at that price you can find "outlet stores" with better deals (you just need to look a bit more everywhere you can). P.S 2: If by any chance you live in Europe they are online stores like Zalando Prive, that have older collections and from time to time you can find there good clothing and footwear at a reasonable prices (Ep36.2 J. Crew Kenton Pacer Indy boots compared with Meermin dressy boots, those came from that online store).

Nice boots, what the last of them?

Thank you! About the last is called "Onyx" and it runs a bit roomy in general. I mean I can wear them even with the thickest external insole that comes in the box (7mm) and still feel decent comfort inside with a medium thick pair of socks. Meermin describes the width of this last as being a "Medium+" and I can see why. I believe that description is pretty accurate for this particular last. I have "regular width feet" and for me is not too large, but I see that are having room inside the toebox, enough to have some thick socks in my feet and still not feel too cramped. At the same time these boots can be wear without any extra insole and still not feel too big for my feet (in my correct size) with pair of socks in my feet (that has a decent thickness), because I can control well the lock down of the feet with the lacing system. They are not perfect in few ways but the sizing I believe that was made very well (IMHO). Keep in mind that I have medium-high arch. Maybe for flat feet is a different situation, but for my feet this was my experience.
